A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

I peek in often on your TRs but don't post too much on them. As always, your pics are some of the best on the boards and always make me feel like I'm right there with you. :goodvibes

Congrats on the new baby Bella!

And thanks for such wonderful entertainment! :thumbsup2

:cheer2:

cool pictures--especially the no people in line ones:cool1:

No people is so nice! :thumbsup2

It's a HIDDEN DRY MEMOM!!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

My jacket and my back were drenched, but that's way better than my hair. I would have had to leave the park and go fix it again if all that water had gone on my head!

I really enjoy the Splash pics since its my favorite MK ride!! I feel like i'm there! "how do you do? please to meet ya! fine how are you..."

It's a nice long, cool ride on a hot summer day!

"Pretty good, sure as you're born!"

I think I know that dark blob - glad to see you stayed dry! :lmao:

Yep, that blob was me. Wet on the back, but dry in the face. :)

Loved the ride through Splash Mountain -- that is one of my absolute favorite MK rides!

Glad to see that you stayed dry. :rotfl2: I like to put my arms up and try to pose for the camera, so I usually just duck down and cover my head at the last moment in an attempt to stay kind of dry. We somehow usually get the first 2 rows. I'm not sure why, it just is. :)

I had to protect my camera, you know! ;)

Staying dry on Splash is top priority! What did you cover up with?
That's such a fun ride, especially the drop!

My jacket. I brought it for such uses as covering up on rides, sitting on during parades, and/or keeping warm should it become cool at night. March is iffy, so I did the fashionable 'tie the sleeves around the waist thing' and had it handy just in case.

That first picture of Splash Mt. is awesome! Hannah loved Splash Mt. and Owen loved the playground by it!

It's such a nice thing to have the playground there for those who need to wait with little ones.

Hannah rode! Yay, Hannah!

:woohoo: all caught up.

Can I make request for the new report...links. :rotfl2:

great updates and pics.

Congrats on the 2 nights at Wilderness Lodge.

Brooklynn looks like she is getting so big or am I just getting older quicker. :scratchin

You mean like put the chapters where you can just click on them and go right to the meat of the report, by-passing all the silly chatter?
That's just like a man!
Okay, we'll think about doing that for our guys.

Were you in the first boat for Splash?
I'm in awe of the no lines. This RD thing is getting me excited!

No, we weren't first, but we were in the first few, I'm guessing.
We love rope drops!

Love your Splash pics! I thought I was bad with my Rain Poncho - you have me beat!

That picture with you in the poncho and your eyes bulging out of your head cannot possibly be beat!

That's exactly the way I felt the minute I stepped off the bus at WL. :)

I think we're going to love it, and I think it's going to make it pretty hard to leave to go home.

Love the dry hidden MeMom! :lmao:

WL is just a wonderful resort, so peaceful and relaxing. :cloud9:

Partially dry.

We are looking forward to sitting out on a balcony and looking down at the pool, hopefully. Trent said he may not leave the resort the last two days, but just lay out by the pool and enjoy the atmosphere!

I have never experienced Splash Mountain. It looks like so much fun! It's definitely on the to-do list this time. I really don't want to get wet though so I'll try and pull a MeMom to stay dry. ;)

You've gotta do Splash Mountain. Your life can't be complete without it.
Well, not really, but it is fun.

You can put on a poncho, too. I've done that before.
I still didn't look as crazy great as Glenda, though!

Awesome Splash pictures....especially the empty line pictures!

I liked all the empty boats lined up together. That's a rare sighting!

Hi MeMom
Thanks for the POP pics. I was planning POP for my dd and mommy one day trip when you guys r there but your talking me into Music. Decisions, decisions...
You r right I am usually on and off so fast and dont chat much because I am usually stealing time online between work and baby naps. :0) But I promise to share more. At the MK have you guys ever taken Brooklynn on the magic kingdom tour? The one for kids? Shes a great age for it.We did a few years ago and it was so much fun plus personal time with Peter pan and Wendy. Here is a pic from it. the kids were playing "peter says" and they were flying here to watch philharmagic with peter and wendy. Mine is the little girl in the pink and blue shirt.

PCDV0045.jpg

I've read about it, but we haven't tried it. Brooklynn would love it, because she loves Peter Pan.

Thanks for sharing your picture. It helps us all get to know one another better.

I  Splash Mountain. You took some really great pics!

Thanks. I like taking them, but since it is a dark ride, I don't have a lot of luck.

That's what I aim for. I am hoping that the videos will be good this summer, too.

Plus you guys can make fun of our southern accents, which seems to be an extra added bonus entertainment. :)

Bella is such a sweet baby. I can't wait to see her little face when we get there!

Thanks. I like taking them, but since it is a dark ride, I don't have a lot of luck.

I think they turned out great, I know how hard it is to take photos on the dark rides! Mine never turn out at all!

I returned to the room to find this evil envelope on our door.

disney3-18-09MK073.jpg

:sad1:

I see my house.

Who else sees theirs?

disney3-18-09MK079.jpg

i do! it's under one of those lower mountains to the right.

Frontier Donald.

disney3-18-09MK086.jpg

cute! i've never seen him.

I will take lots of morning pictures for you. I'll might even call you from there, but not in the morning. ;)

yeah, definitely don't call me on one of your early morning walks. i probably won't answer! one thing i'm not is an early bird. wish i was but i'm just not.

Trent said we can do a webcam, if anyone thinks they'd like to see that.

definitely! ::yes::

Drew and I love pecan pies, and Georgia is full of pecans. It's full of peaches, too, but Dawn claims she hasn't seen any! :rotfl:

i really haven't! i've been here for 12 years now and i've never seen a peach tree with my own eyes. i've seen lots of cotton, slaw dogs, peanuts in water(yuck!) and red mud, but no peaches.

I came prepared.
See if you can find me.

disney3-18-09MK102.jpg

:rotfl2: that's hilarious! that looks like something i'd do. i hate walking around in wet underwear no matter how hot it is! :scared:

just out of curiosity, do you have to be a kid to do this tour? how about if you're 32-almost-33 years old? and does wendy HAVE to be involved? :lmao:

Well, come on over to my parents house! They have peach trees, blueberry bushes, and all kinds of goodies in their back yard!!! :lmao:

I have gardenias and holly bushes. That seems to be the only thing I can grow in my yard!:lmao:

Thanks for the WL piccies - its a gorgeous resort! I bet your home is amazing themed like the WL!!!
... and yes I too noticed your accents, probably more so being English! I loved them, I felt like I was in a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!

Accents? Accents? What accents? :rotfl:

They haven't heard the worst of it. We have pretty much no accent compared to some Tennesseans. Someday I'll record some real country folks for our readers' listening pleasure!

I think they turned out great, I know how hard it is to take photos on the dark rides! Mine never turn out at all!

For every twenty, I might get one decent one. It's always a challenge, but kind of interesting to see what you can capture on any given day.

:sad1:

The only people I'd call on a morning walk would be Charleston Princess, Disney Joo, and Glendamax. They are the other early birds around here.

One yes for the webcam.

You may not go on the tour! I fear for Wendy's well-being if you are allowed to go!

just wanted to let memom/brooklynnsmommy readers know that i have more pictures of the hippo meet up on my TR:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=32391319&postcount=2208

enjoy!

Thanks for sharing. I didn't realize you took as many pictures of Brooklynn as you did.

I'm there! Peaches and blueberries - YUM!
I am so jealous! Tell me what else they have, so I can be more jealous!

I would classify our home as way less than amazing, but it's comfortable and homey and does the job for us. I have some lodge stuff and specifically some Wilderness Lodge stuff. My two prized possessions in that category are the big WL throw that the kids got me for my 50th birthday when we were in Disney World and my mini-totem pole that I bought just because I liked it. Since we are staying there this trip, I'm sure I will have to buy a little keepsake to add to that. I'll be happily shopping for that item at the Mercantile as an official resident of the resort, not just a visitor.

Our accents are at least a little short of the Clampetts, right? We don't say 'Wheee, doggie!' much, and we eat dinner, not vittles! And we swim in pools, not cement ponds.

I wish I had a cement pond in my back yard, however. I could do early morning low impact exercise. Swimming would be perfect for me, but I don't dare be seen in a public pool. I fear it would look like a Sci-Fi movie with all the people running away and screaming! ;) If I had a lap pool, I'd be out there right this minute!

:lmao: Are we the same person, Heather? My dad has all of those things in his garden, but all I have are gardenias and azaleas! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

The only people I'd call on a morning walk would be Charleston Princess, Disney Joo, and Glendamax. They are the other early birds around here.

I would most certainly be up for an early morning walk! Especially around Disney! :thumbsup2

One yes for the webcam.

Make that two -- I would love it!

Do you know that was one of my many favorite things about staying at AKL? I loved being able to pop down to the gift shop (which was just a short walk down the hall) whenever I felt like it?

I think you should get a Wilderness Lodge Christmas ornament!

I love your Splash pictures. The brier patch sure does photograph well. I think my best picture from last trip was the Splash Mountain drop. I am glad you stayed dry.

I have seen peach trees!

These were taken many years ago, Aaron is just a little guy. We went to 'the country' with my MIL one day to see relatives and look what we found. These are Alabama peaches not Georgia ones....not that it makes any difference.

I hope this works, it's my first attempt at scanning a photo and posting it.
Crossing my fingers ladies....:rotfl:

Yippee! I did it! :yay:

I loveeee :lovestruc the Splash Mountain pictures! That ride is so well themed even though its old! Definitely on my favorite rides in WDW list.

And those WL pictures...it's like looking at heaven :cloud9:

So when we come to eat dinner with you guys, we can expect to see lots of homegrown goodness on the table? :thumbsup2

What time is dinner, by the way?

Food for thought: Why do we call the midday meal lunch Monday through Saturday, but on Sunday the same meal is called dinner. We always say, "Come on over for Sunday dinner!"

AKL has an awesome gift shop, too. Did you buy any of the animal or mask carvings?

Two votes for the webcam. Excellent.

An ornament might be just the thing!

I love your Splash pictures. The brier patch sure does photograph well. I think my best picture from last trip was the Splash Mountain drop. I am glad you stayed dry.

I may video a ride this summer. Then we can watch the big drop in slow-motion!

That is surely a peach!
And look at the little cutie posing with them. What did he think about his peach picking adventure?

And :dance3: for posting a picture! It's always nice to learn how to do new things on the computer.

One of my favorites, as well. :)

I hope we get a good view, but if we don't, we'll go sit outside where there is a good view.

Not found at Basin, I don't think.

ooooh I loveeee BTMRR too! I really like the one picture you have with the view of the castle. :lovestruc

Those soaps are in Epcot too! I just saw them on someone else's TR LOL I wonder what they smell like?

He sure was a cutie back then....he was about 5yrs old in that pic. Wow, that's 10 yrs ago, how time flies. He would tower over that tree now:)

When he was younger he loved to go on adventures and he would get so excitted at the littlest things in life. He was so happy to see how the peaches grew, I can remember he called my DMom right when we got home and said "Gramma, I saw peaches and ducks". He was more amused with chasing the 'guard ducks' around the property.
It was something new to me too and I was surprized that the trees were so small.
I have seen orange trees in FL. and you need a ladder to pick them. We picked grapefruit once and we needed these poles with a metal grabber thing on the end. That was fun until they told my Dad there might be snakes....we were outta there.

I love the pics of BTMR! It's a ride we all like!

I've never seen that Goofy, very neat.

I think I've filled my water bottle at those fountains before. :thumbsup2

BTMRR..........it's the wildest ride in the weeeeerlderness and also Baylor's favorite ride!
