A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Could someone please remind MeMom that she has been back from this trip for two and a half months and we are only halfway through her first full day. We leave in less than two months MeMom and you have the rest of Thursday, all of Friday and Saturday, and half of Sunday to report on. At this rate you can read our July trip report in 2010!!!

I was thinking this afternoon I should just finish this whooooole report out tonight,
but now that you've gone and gotten smarty-pants about it,
I'm going to go slow. :snooty:

Kind of like I do in World Showcase. ;)

You want me to speed up, huh?
Okay, then, Speedy McSpeedster, let's watch a Jammin' Jungle Parade.
And I better hear you jammin' all the way up here, too!!!

**************************************

At some point during our time over at Dinoland, we rode Dinosaur, but I don't seem to have any pictures for some reason, so I'll go on with the parade.

This is one of my favorites, and I hope to be seeing it again on our Four Parks day.

So sing it out,
and bark and roar and screech and growl!

So sing it out,
and bark and roar and screech and growl!

That's fine but I will "bark and growl and screech and roar"

Was that loud enough for you?!?!?! And don't you dare say that since your granddaughter stole your CD you forgot the order of the words.

Boy, this parade is sure going quickly!

Jill. :)

And before you know it, it is over, and this trip report is moving right along!

Next, (but not right now, because the parade has exhausted me, 'cause I was jammin') we go over to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

That's fine but I will "bark and growl and screech and roar"

Was that loud enough for you?!?!?! And don't you dare say that since your granddaughter stole your CD you forgot the order of the words.

I will say that, because it is true!

Because of her, I'm all mixed up.
I say things like 'hiss and mew and chirp and tweet'.
I'm very confused.

If only I had a CD that I could play in the car daily to remember the song...:rolleyes1

Oh, wait, I do have a CD like that!

Jill, Brooklyn cracks me up with her "Oh My Gosh!" :rotfl:

MeMom, the parade is just stunning -- we must try to see it this year!

Yeay for Animal Kingdom Lodge! That's where I am headed in 8 days (in case it slipped your mind). :lmao:

Thanks for the parade pics... I have to see it, in less than three weeks from now! (20 days to AK... but who is counting!)

/
We haven't sat and watched this parade in years. I think we just might have to do that this trip!

I saw that reply........ so yada, yada, yada, to you!

That parade at AK is on my "must do list this trip" loved the pictures!:goodvibes

Going to bed now!

Your parade pictures are stunning. I adore Brer Bear and would really like to see if Minnie would part with her polka dot jeep. I've been considering this parade, but then un-considering it because of fear of the heat, but now I must see it. :)

Hi MeMom, just checking in for the first time in AGES!
Toby has been keeping me very busy and I only seem to get time to check emails before he wants something again or its time for us both to get some rest.
Its been a tough few weeks (he is now 3-weeks and 4-days old) as I was breast-feeding Toby but he continued to lose weight and not gain any. We concluded that my milk was good quality or I wasn't producing enough. He was always crying to be fed so I think he wasn't getting satisfied at all. He is now on formula milk and thriving - a sad decision to make but def. the best one for him (and me, I am happier now I know he is OK).
I am going to try and catch up on your report but I have pages and pages I think!
Hope you are well!

No, I didn't close it, I spent some time very confused today trying to figure out why I couldn't post anything.......
It is exciting around here, plus Baylor had his last day of basketball camp today and it off to baseball practice right now.
I was happy to see Harper today, she gets to go to the Great Wolf Lodge this weekend.:goodvibes
Then Disney with Mimi and Poppy in December.

We did many, many basketball camps for many, many years. I bet he's beat right now with all that, the traveling, and a Disney evening!

Ohhhh... how fun. That is a great idea. We ended up buying a bounce house (smaller LIttle Tykes one) and it is by far the best purchase every made. I haven't seen the water slide ones yet - I will have to check it out!

I think this will see quite a bit of use. It seems so much more practical than renting one for a few hours.

We used to rent the non water kind every year for Field Day when I was teaching. The students would "betting pools" on which teachers would beat the others and then totally egg us on. :lmao:

Enjoy!! I was admiring that earlier today at Target. It looks like a blast!

Hopefully, we'll see pictures of it today, because if the weather cooperates, they're going to set it up to be sure it's all okay.

For our Field Day, they had a bunch of inflatables, but this year they also had a bucking bronco, which the kids loved!

I love to look at the bats! They are cool!

Jill, the water slide sounds wonderful and lots of fun! Can't wait to hear how Brooklynn likes it!

The bats are neat to look at. I like any opportunity I have to see an animal up close. They are all interesting to observe as they just do what they do.

Love the Tree Of Life carvings. I like how you got close up shots. :thumbsup2

BrooklynnsMommy How awesome! You will have so much fun with the slide. I bet it will be the hit of the summer. :Pinkbounc :jumping3: :bounce:

I'll try to get shots of some of the other carvings on the July trip.

Are you feeling almost normal again?

I love that walk around the Jungle Trek. Your picture of the tigers is about what I usually get. One time I did get a picture on one off using the facilities. I didn't realize it at the time but when I looked at the picture it was pretty obvious

I am always amazed at the carvings on the Tree of Life. Those are some very talented carvers. We have never come across the real kangaroos. I guess we will have to go back and have another look.

The water slide sounds fun Jill. We are looking at a new pool; maybe we could put them together. :)

Usually the tigers are just hanging out, but we've seen them a few times walking around. We'll try again in a couple of months. I might ask a CM about the best time to see them moving a little or when they might have a feeding time.

Great photos, MeMom. I think bats are so cool looking, although they do freak me out a little!

The animal carvings are SO amazing! One of my favorite things about AK.

Your water slide sounds like a lot of fun, Jill. I'm sure Brooklynn will love it. That's great that you're planning on using it yourself. I definitely would, too!

True, the bats are a little creepy, yet interesting to watch. Have you seen any of them when they're crawling across the wires?

i've never seen these guys at AK! i see pics of them all the time in TRs but i always seem to miss them. one of those "next trip" sorta things i guess!

I've only seen them a couple of times. That one just happened to be close to where we were walking.

Speaking of next time, have you thought about what resort you're going to stay at on that trip?

It looks like you girls had a lot of fun together. I am sure you are all looking forward to being together at Disney World soon.

I bet Brooklynn will be so excited about her new slide.

The bats would be something that I would rather not see. But, I do want to see the tigers. I have never been down a trail at Animal Kingdom.

We always have fun together! :)

Just like that little girl - you wish to not go in there!

Awww, I love the tiger pictures!!!!! I just love tigers, they look so lovable until they open that mouth and you see the huge teeth!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

They are beautiful animals.

And they could easily tear you apart if they wanted to.

What cute sleeping tigers MeMom! I wish I could curl up with those big kitty cats and take a nap. *yawn*

Yay on the slide Jill! That will bring hours of enjoyment I am sure. :)

When they're laying there like that, you do think you could just go in and pet them and they'd love it, just like your own cat, but that's probably not the way it works!

I couldn't understand what Brooklynn was saying, but she looked cute saying it. Memom is only on her first day? Maybe she can finish now that school is out.

No, I'm on my second trip day, but the first full day.
I'm toward the end of that, too, so I'm making progress. :thumbsup2
I like to read other reports, too, and then there's all the unimportant things I have to do in life, like work and take care of the house, and do my class. Trip reports are fun, but you do have to make time for them. I promise, I will pull this on out before we leave!

Jill, Brooklyn cracks me up with her "Oh My Gosh!" :rotfl:

Yeah, do see the parade if you can. The puppets are cool and so is the music.

I promise it has not slipped my mind that you will be at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am wearing an AKL t-shirt right now, as a matter of fact! I could pretend that I am doing that in your honor, but I'll be truthful - I just happened to put it on. I almost always have on a Disney t-shirt on the weekends.

I'll wash it, though, and next week, I'll choose it on purpose and think of you guys down there....

eating my zebra domes! :goodvibes

Great parade pics! We just watched our video of it today! Such a fun parade!!

It is one of my favorite!

Thanks for the parade pics... I have to see it, in less than three weeks from now! (20 days to AK... but who is counting!)

Yay for you guys! You have such a short time left!

As for counting, I have ours on a thing that tells days, hours, and minutes until departure!

We haven't sat and watched this parade in years. I think we just might have to do that this trip!

Yep, and it's about three weeks for you, too. Do you and ILuvXU overlap? I can't keep up with everyone's dates.

I saw that reply........ so yada, yada, yada, to you!

That parade at AK is on my "must do list this trip" loved the pictures!:goodvibes

Going to bed now!

Oooops! I didn't think I'd get caught! I figured you'd be in too much of a state of euphoria to notice!

Enjoy the parade!

Your parade pictures are stunning. I adore Brer Bear and would really like to see if Minnie would part with her polka dot jeep. I've been considering this parade, but then un-considering it because of fear of the heat, but now I must see it. :)

We usually get a frozen lemonade and/or a snack of some kind while we're waiting. If we're lucky, we'll find a spot in the shade, but even if not, it is worth seeing.

It's always good to hear from you! I'm glad you've worked out a solution for you and for Toby. Breast-feeding is nice, but people sometimes make too big of an issue of it. If it is stressful for everyone, what's the harm in bottle-feeding? Baby gets what he needs, Mommy gets some rest, which makes for a happier entire family. I'd much rather see a bottle-fed baby who sleeps through the night and lets the whole family function better because of it than a cranky baby who is wearing everyone out just because the mom has some point to prove to society.

All is well here. We're keeping busy.

Jill and MeMom!!

Sorry I've been MIA lately, but I think I'm caught up!

I'm headed to Destin tomorrow for the week with a friend, so I will try and check in, but I hope you guys have a wonderful week!

Finally posted another update to the Vandy Girls thread :thumbsup2. We are down to our last hour now :sad1:

But I'm under my 6 month mark now for our trip!!! :yay::woohoo::yay:

Talk to you guys soon!

I can't wait to watch the Jammin Jungle parade for the first time!!!
It looks so fun and lively! :cool1:

I just love that Minnie is a bag girl too!
Hers looks more like a suitcase.....:rotfl:

I would enjoy seeing pics of the new slide....is Daddy going to be the first to try it...for safety...

To answer your question, I do feel more like myself. The chiro has helped my stiff neck and I don't have as much pain. Still have my rib problem, she has been consulting about how to proceed with it. She should have more answers today, I hope.

I got the okay to get out and walk around, so I did a little grocery shopping yesterday. It felt so nice to be back in population and not in my bed. :goodvibes

Have a great day!

We have had a very busy day down here in Northern Alabama!

The water slide came out of its box this morning and we had a ton of fun. I am going to share the pictures now and then when the video is done loading I'll add it.

Brooklynn was in her bathing suit within 15 minutes of waking up.

IMG_0797.jpg

She supervised her daddy and made sure he was doing it right.

IMG_0801.jpg

John bought her pool noodles last night at Target so she was chasing Ben around the backyard with them.

IMG_0800.jpg

Finally everything is put together and anchored down, Blow that baby up!!!!

IMG_0803.jpg

IMG_0806.jpg

She could not wait to get in and play.

IMG_0811.jpg

IMG_0817.jpg

After a good amount of playing (read: she looked like the Coppertone baby when I took her swimsuit off!) we came in and got dressed for another special Saturday treat. We went and grabbed a late lunch and then headed to the theater to see Brooklynn's first in theater movie, Up!

IMG_0820.jpg

The movie was great! I highly recommend it. Both girls were fabulous and we didn't have to leave once the movie started.

And here's the video

First time down:

She was very timid and needed to do it cautiously.

Then after a few slow times:

She had a blast and so did I. Yes I definitely put my swimsuit on (thank goodness for our privacy fence) and headed down that slide several times. It got up to 92 degrees here today so it was a nice way to cool off!

That inflatable looks awesome. So much fun... glad the girls were good at Up! I am hoping to get there this week!

Jill that inflatable slide looks like so much fun! I wish we had room for something like that but our backyard isn't much of a yard. :( Plus, we'd probably have every kid in the neighborhood here if we had something like that! :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm glad you liked Up and that the girls did well. I think we're going to see the 3D version tomorrow.
