A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Morning, have a good day!

Another Disney dollar to be made, so I guess it's not totally mundane.

Your pics are cute, all the kids were just very excitted! They didn't want to stand still, they wanted to go on Safari. :rotfl:

Disney dollars - that's why I come to school! :woohoo:

Disclaimer: I was told I would not be in this picture which is why I am not paying any attention. I have already chastised MeMom and threatened to start posting more pictures of her if we have another incident like this.

You have been warned, MeMom!!!!!!

At least everyone within a seven hundred mile radius heard and saw your threat.

I have witnesses.

:scared1:

I love you two! :grouphug:

Even when Jill is being mean?

Don't encourage her! :sad2:

I'm looking forward to some Disney popcorn in 80 something days, by the way.

:wizard:I see more Memom pictures for us in our future.....

Or fewer outings with Jill and her camera.

Oh my goodness MeMom!! What an amazing party idea! You guys are so creative! :goodvibes It looks like so much fun. I may have to do something like this for the boys this summer. :thumbsup2

Memom and Jill,

I was at my brother's house last week so I just got caught up on all the fun you have been having with your precious girls. Your party looked like so much fun. I am glad Brooklynn got to spend time with her cousins. Were she and Bella the only girls? My son was the only boy with five girls this weekend. But, they all had so much fun being together. My family hadn't been all together since Thanksgiving so it was fun.

I loved all your pictures as usual. I have been to Opry Mills a long time ago, but I told my husband that I want to go back around Christmas time this year. I really wish that Opryland was still there though. That is the theme park I grew up going to. I didn't get to go to Disney World until after I was married. I am so thankful to be able to take my kids there every few years.

Thanks for the updates. They always put a smile on my face.

Wow MeMom, you amaze me. You are such a good Mom and MeMom. They are all very lucky to have you. What an amazing Disney-filled weekend you had. I've been feeling a little blue today and your pictures managed to bring a much needed smile to my face. :)

Brooklynn and Bella were the only girls. There were 5 boys there and one more due any day now. If you head this way in December let us know and we can try to meet you. I think everyone who knows anything of Opryland (me, MeMom, Erica, Dawn) all feel the same way. I wish they could have built the mall somewhere close and not where I spent so many days during the summer when I was younger. I still get a little angry when I see the rocks that used to be a part of Grizzly River Rampage.

Isn't it weird to think that so many of us have been to Opryland and could have been there at the same time many years ago?

Jill- I would love to meet you all! When time gets closer, I will definitely let you all know if we are coming. That is very interesting to think we all at least have great memories of the same place. I wish that our kids could have them as well.

Be nice, we welcome any pictures around here. No threats, just love. :rotfl:

BrookynnsMommy , I can sympathize with you.
No one likes to be in a shot and not know. ;)

Parcel is on it's way.....to TN.....again! Be on the lookout. You'll deffinitely know it's from me when you see it! ::yes::

Haha, sorry MeMom. :lmao:

I know, Disney popcorn is the best.

It is, but I'm still not a big popcorn eater, like most people.
I usually end up paying to get a new bucket and throwing most of the popcorn out. I use the buckets for crayons and pencils and other odds and ends at school and at home.

You should. It would be a great way to have new friends over and get to know them when you move.

Get-togethers like that are just simple fun.
You can just be casual and be yourselves. No fanciness - just paper plates and fun!

If you go at Christmas, will you go next door to the Opryland Hotel and see all the pretty lights and decorations?

What an amazing Disney-filled weekend you had. I've been feeling a little blue today and your pictures managed to bring a much needed smile to my face. :)

PM me whenever you feel like venting. I'm glad we could bring a little happiness your way.

I can attest to the fact that every time we pass that gigantic rock, Jill mourns aloud. Brooklynn is going to grow up hating that rock for reasons she doesn't even know!

I'm waiting for her to come up with, "Mommy, we don't like that old rock, right?" one day when we drive by! :rotfl:

Great! Hope you can make it! The more the merrier.
And we promise not to let the hippo eat your children. :)

Here's the picture I had originally thought I would put:

Bella looked very unhappy about it though, and I thought it looked cute with Jill holding her up.
I think she looks cute no matter if she's looking at the camera or not.

It'll be so fun to get your package. I'll let you know as soon as it gets here.

Can I just sign everyone up for sending me a package?
One person per week will be great.
I could really stay pretty happy that way! :dance3:

Hey, Dawn. Erica says hi.
I had to do that, because my 3rd graders are bad about translating things that don't need to be translated.
I wonder if 2nd graders do that, too???? :)

Hey!!!! You didn't tell her I miss her....I said I miss her :rotfl:

You have been warned, MeMom!!!!!!

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

You tell her Jill....it's the only way she will listen....blackmail pictures!

Yep....you, Dawn and I probably ran over each other trying to get to the Grizzly, or the Walbash, or the Rockin' Roller Coaster!

You have probably got some good pics you could post too!!

Cute :upsidedow....I kept waiting for a picture of me and Brooklynn to show up....I had taken her around the corner to look at the butterfly and she wanted to touch it. I was holding her told her I didn't think she could touch it, and she just looked at me like she did not believe me

Oh and I think I forgot to say....when I have kiddo's I will be bringing them to your house for Disney parties!!! I do still hope you will be having them

A little bit behind on the PARTY of the CENTURY!!!!! That party looked awesome!!!!! :woohoo:
You rock MeMom! I want to be at your parties!

Jill, those zoo pictures were spectacular!!

I guess I'm not a very good translator, huh?

Blackmail pictures will work. That's a sure bet. I will behave.

I was trying to get you two and the butterfly in, but I couldn't get it all in the frame, and there were too many people around to back up, so I never did even snap the picture.

Everyone that wants to can come and party with us. I may have to get a third job - one for regular life, one for Disney trips, and one for Disney parties. :)

That's okay; latecomers are always welcome!
And we still have leftovers, because I only know how to prepare food for one amount of people, and that's a small army! ;)

Jill was quite the photographer that day. I can't wait to see the awesome pictures she gets in July and August.

********************************

We were on our way to Animal Kingdom at some point last week, as I recall.

That was before all this wild partying took place.

So here we are.

We were met by this nice girl, who wanted to show us something educational.

you would be right.

Do you know how many bones they have in their necks?

That was the question she asked me.

Being a third-grade teacher, I knew the answer.

Seven, just like humans.

She got a very surprised look on her face, until I told her I was a teacher, and then she laughed and said, "Oh, okay then!"

I felt the need to take a picture of the bone to show to my students. They think it's cool that they've seen a giraffe neckbone and that they have the same number of neckbones as humans.

Going on into the park.

We were stopped here, where the information board was opened in a ceremonial-type way by a nice young man.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK212.jpg

Mickey and friends arrived,

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK213.jpg

but they left just as quickly as they came.

There was no stopping and no little opening show.
they just drove through.

I don't know if that was just for that day, or whether that's just another of those little Disney cuts. I can't imagine that they would have had to pay the CM's much more to stop and do a two minute 'Welcome to Animal Kingdom' speech, and it would have added so much to the beginning of the day, but they just drove by and waved.

I will admit to being a little disappointed.

Our first mission was to go on a two week safari and still get back in time to do a lot of other things that day.

Since I can't give the safari pictures the proper amount of time I would need to this morning (since I have to work and all), I will save those for this evening.

Have a wonderful Cinco de Mayo!
I'm thinking I may run to the store on my way to school and get the stuff to make tacos for my class. We're doing Running Records, STAR Math, and DIBELS testing this week, so a little fun in that mix would be nice. I have sombreros and a couple of blankets from Mexico that were given to me as gifts. Donald in his sombrero is already sitting in my classroom window, so he'd probably love to join us.

Anyway, make it a good day, and I'll be back with Kilimanjaro Safari pictures tonight.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

I hope your students enjoy the Tacos. Yumm! :thumbsup2

Donald in the sombrero is so cute. Lexi really regrets not buying that one. :)

Wish me luck, it's my inspection day.....:goodvibes .....I'd rather be on a AK safari!

I guess I never thought how big a giraffe's vertebrate would be, but that is simply gigantic!!!

Have fun celebrating Cinco de Mayo today! We get to look forward to more storms. :scared:

Sadly I too knew the answer, must be since we do animals in third grade and my girls love the zoo!

Have a great Tuesday!

This would be the perfect picture for an AK brochure...ad...etc!

Go MeMom! :woohoo:

Happy Cinco de Mayo!! Aw..if I was still in high school, we'd be having a fiesta today in Spanish class!

Ok, I want to go back to school and I demand MeMom is my teacher. You are always doing such cool things for your kids! Tacos on Cinco de Mayo? Fun! I bet they love seeing Disney touches here and there too. Great AK pictures. Are you a EE rider? I'm really nervous about that one for some reason.
