A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It's a local Mom's "club" type thing. There's actually a network (The Mommies Network) and they have online communities all over the country. They have playdates, Mom's Night Out and other activities for local Moms to meet other Moms. They also have forums. It's like the DIS...only for Mommies! LOL

Cool! I may have to check that out. I live in the boonies (that's the country for you city folks out there :rotfl:), so there probably isn't another soul out there near me!

Your plans sound yummy. We have only tried CP out of the ones you mentioned. I would love to try the others on your list next time! I wish I could go as often as you do!! What is your secret for saving up for trips???? We want to go back so bad but I can't seem to get the Disney coffer filled up!

Trent sounds like such a sweet son. I hope my little guys grow up to be just like him. I don't ever want to give up these little kisses and hugs I still get. :)

Score on the ADRs! Crystal Palace is a favorite of ours too so it's going back on the "doing it again" list. Teppan Edo is also excellent so back on the list with it too. You will love the chef interaction!

Thank you for the Happy Baby Due Date wishes everyone!

MeMom, our friends always go to Teppan Edo - they love it - its a HUGE hit with them. We went to a similar restaurant in London for my hubby's 30th in March and the husband (who is a total Disney NUT!) kept comparing it to Teppan Edo. Oh they do that at Disney. Oh we didn't get that at Disney Oh but we got that at Disney!
You get the picture!!!

Can't wait to hear what you end up with!

We are looking forward to it. It'll be a fun way to start out the evening that the guys will be joining us.

I hope the next time you talk to us, there will be exciting baby news!

And the ADR's are made!

Good job, Jill-o!

Yep, I am the exact same way. Didn't read Marley and Me, and I won't see the movie! Nope, nope, nope! I have a hard time getting through The Lion King, and that's a cartoon!

Ahhh, I really, really, really hope Connor grows up to be like Trent -- he is very affectionate so I hope that doesn't change.

about Drew's way to show his affection.

Oh, I know the kids can handle it -- they would love the film -- I just don't know about me. It makes me so sad to even think about the polar bear daddy trying to feed his family and dying in the process -- knowing it really happened makes it worse.

Hurray!!! :woohoo: Those are great ADRs! Doesn't it seem more real now that those are in place! I was in such a good mood after we made ours!

The movie talked a lot about global warming and what it was doing to the polar bears. It makes me want to support the effort to help them more than ever.

It was pretty exciting to talk about our plans this morning!

Yaaaaa, it is so nerve-wracking to wait till 90 days out for your adr's. You hope and hope you can get what you need so as to remain on your schedule! :cool1:Whaaa hooooo! I would continue calling if you don't like your 5 pm slot for H and V. They wait till they fill all of the earlier spots and sometimes they add some later ones. But 5 pm sounds good though~

So on Monday, its only 35 more days of school (not including weekends!). I had a wonderful year though...I am actually going to miss all of them!

We'll probably get a Fastpass for something, go and eat, go use the Fastpasses, and then head to Fantasmic.

We have about four weeks left, I think. I never seem to pay attention to when the last day of school is, but I know it is getting close.

Great news about your ADRs! It is almost time for ours. We had dinner last night with our newbie friends to decide on the restaurants. In the end, it was "Whatever you decide, we're fine with it. You're the experts!"

No pressure, no pressure at all.

So, what have you picked? You can't leave us hanging!

Does Declan get to pick one or two?

Congratulations on the ADR's. Now you can rest a little easier about that and start worrying about something else. At least that is what I do. Sounds like a great plan to do 4 parks in one day. I might have to convince DH to try it after I hear how your experience turns out.

Just the money. That's all I ever worry about. As long as we have a room, I'm good. Doesn't have to be fancy. Even if I didn't get one ADR I wanted, it wouldn't matter, because we'd still eat. I just worry about paying for it all.

I'll give you some details a little later about the Four Parks in One Day plans.

great job on the ADRs!! Now time will really fly by for you guys!

The next few weeks will with school.
Then there's summer school, Vacation Bible School, and church camp.
The next morning after church camp, we'll be on a plane!
It always seems to go really fast to me when we hit thirty days, too.

Congratulations on the ADR's! Good luck with doing all 4 parks in one day! My cousin is on his way home from FLA today and they did Disney on Monday. Originally they were only supposed to do MK, but when they got there they decided to upgrade to PH's and ended up doing all 4 in one day....they haven't been in about 5 years so they really killed themselves doing it!

I'll tell you our plans. It's probably not as exciting as what your cousins did. We're kind of just doing one or two things at each park and being very relaxed about it. It would be a challenge to get a certain amount of rides in throughout the day, but I'm too old for all that racing around!

2.gif
Yay for getting the adrs you wanted and for being only 90 days away from your vacation.
2.gif

Yep, it is exciting to be doing a 90 day dance! :cool1:
Although my church background has always suggested that dancing was sinful, so dancing on Sunday must be really, really bad! ;)

Cool! I may have to check that out. I live in the boonies (that's the country for you city folks out there ), so there probably isn't another soul out there near me!

We know the boonies!!! Half the people we know live out in the boonies!

Jill and John even live in the boonies in Alabama. They pass a field of white horses just before you turn on their street. :)

Your plans sound yummy. We have only tried CP out of the ones you mentioned. I would love to try the others on your list next time! I wish I could go as often as you do!! What is your secret for saving up for trips???? We want to go back so bad but I can't seem to get the Disney coffer filled up!

Not spending money at home. We turn lights out, keep heat down, and I eat PBJ for lunch about 4 out of 5 days a week. I don't buy clothes (except those capris that put Jill into labor!) or jewelry. I don't spend money on movies, eating out, smoking, drinking, or anything else, so Disney is my fun thing and my vice!

Your ADRs look and sound tasty!!

I think they will all be delicious!

Trent sounds like such a sweet son. I hope my little guys grow up to be just like him. I don't ever want to give up these little kisses and hugs I still get.

We thought about doing 'Ohana for dinner on the first night, but there would be no characters with that. It was fun to start out last year with a character meal for Brooklynn, and since it'll be Bella's first Disney dining experience, it should be a character meal, I think. Bella won't care about what's on the menu, but it'll be cute to get pictures with Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and ..... who is that other guy that's there? Seems like I should know....:eeyore:

More pictures from Downtown Disney on our first evening.

We always have to stop at Goofy's.
Instead of torturing myself with pictures of sweets, I took pictures of decorative stuff.

Did you know there was such a thing as a nine dollar apple???

Tigger in a predicament.

One of Brooklynn's favorite places.

She can spend a lot of time putting some crazy looking potato people together.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK178.jpg

Since Bella's middle name is Marie, I feel compelled to take a picture of this Marie when I see her.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK180.jpg

I didn't really have a particular reason for taking a picture of these guys, other than I thought they were cute.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK181.jpg

And I do like potatoes.
I like them baked, mashed, fried...:)

I call them potatoes, too, in case you were wondering.
Not taters.
I am a refined Tennessee girl. :snooty:

When the kids were little, they called them ba-tatoes.

Next up: Basin and a little more shopping before we called it a night.

Thanks for the cute little beehive light fixture! You know, I went into that store and I never saw them. :scared1:

I know this is SUPER late, but

CONGRATULATIONS on the beautiful new addition to your family!!!

Bella is perfectly beautiful! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures.

I love the pictures of Downtown Disney because I absolutely adore Downtown Disney. Something about that area thats just as magical as being in the parks! Maybe the SHOPPING??

:woohoo: on getting the ADR's you wanted!

Enjoyed the shopping pictures, keep em' coming!

And the ADR's are made!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
WOOHOO!!!! :cool1: That's great! I can't wait to hear the reviews - we've only ever been to Teppan Edo and that was when it was still Teppanyaki!

We joke that my dad is on a "wanted" poster there because of an incident that happened the last time we went. The hostess had just come by and cleaned our grill and my dad accidentally knocked over his sesame sauce. It went all over the grill, the liquid evaporated and fairly cemented the seeds to the grill. The hostess walked by and just slightly glared at dad before she cleaned the grill a second time! That's one of those great Disney memories that we will all remember forever!

Instead of torturing myself with pictures of sweets, I took pictures of decorative stuff.

Did you know there was such a thing as a nine dollar apple???

:rotfl: I also only take pictures of the decor in Goofy's - it's a dangerous place!

I did not know that there were nine dollar apples.....but at Disney, isn't anything possible?

Congrats on getting all the ADR's you wanted!!

I dont want to give too much away before I start my TR...but, WCC and the Fantasmic package are both great!! I don't know if you guys have done any of them before but they're definitely worth it :thumbsup2

Thosse ADRs look great!

We did Teppen Edo when we went with my parents and brother and everyone had a great time. The kids were mezmerized by the chef and we all loved the food. I think it was a favorite of everyone. HAve them make the beginner chopsticks for Brooklynn - my boys thought using them instead of forks was a HOOT!

I can't imagine what all would go on a $9 apple. One thing I know for sure -- nothing good for my teeth or waist line!

Congrats on your ADRs!!!! I worry about the money too! Always worried. Don't really care if we eat pb&j in our room the entire time. Just want to have enough to get there and get into the parks.

:mickeyjumCONGRATS ON GETTING ALL YOUR ADR'S!!! :mickeyjum

It's so excitting when all the plans come together and everyone is happy.

I can't wait to hear all about Bella's first character meal and see Brooklynn with Pooh.

We will have to compare reviews on some of the same restaurants. It will be first times for us too.

I still have a month to work on my list. ;)

Downtown Disney is so much fun, my favorite place to shop!

How did you ever find a bag with hibiscus flowers? Perfect bag for summer.

What was Tigger afraid of?

Cute Potato Head.

Okay, I'll give you a hint about your package....a little bit Disney....a touch of Canada and some humor thrown in....that's all you get for now.

Thanks for the cute little beehive light fixture! You know, I went into that store and I never saw them. :scared1:

That's actually the first time I noticed the light in that store, too. We've ever never paid attention or they're a new addition.

That's a really cute purse!!! Very tropical!

It is cute - one of many, many cute bags I saw.

They look great! I haven't tried Teppan Edo so I can't wait to hear about it from you!

It should be an interesting meal. Maybe I can video the chef doing all the fancy stuff.

I know this is SUPER late, but

CONGRATULATIONS on the beautiful new addition to your family!!!

Bella is perfectly beautiful! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures.

Bella and Brooklynn were here today. They are both so very sweet. Brooklynn was taking care of her baby doll while I was holding Bella. She was being a good little mommy and feeding her some baby food.

I love the pictures of Downtown Disney because I absolutely adore Downtown Disney. Something about that area thats just as magical as being in the parks! Maybe the SHOPPING??

Yes, the shopping is good. Just the alive atmosphere of being in DTD is neat. We can be there until late and night, and there are families out doing things together - eating ice cream, dancing in the streets, playing in the water, etc. I feel like it's a good safe place to be, too.

And then there's the shopping!
I mostly window shop, but it is fun just to go from store to store and look at all the cute Disney stuff.

:woohoo: on getting the ADR's you wanted!

Enjoyed the shopping pictures, keep em' coming!

Thanks. We were happy with what we got.

You know there will be plenty more shopping pictures! :)

We'll try not to spill anything when we go!

I'm trying to imagine how to get nine dollars worth of something onto an apple. I'll have to check out the nine dollar options when I get there. Not buy one, but check out what could possibly go on one.

Congrats on getting all the ADR's you wanted!!

I dont want to give too much away before I start my TR...but, WCC and the Fantasmic package are both great!! I don't know if you guys have done any of them before but they're definitely worth it :thumbsup2

We've done Whispering Canyon before. We've not done Hollywood and Vine for dinner. With fewer Fantasmic showings now, we felt like we should reserve a spot to be sure we could get in without having to spend the whole evening standing and waiting in line. If we weren't trying to do the Four Parks in One Day thing, I doubt we would have booked it.

Thosse ADRs look great!

I can't imagine what all would go on a $9 apple. One thing I know for sure -- nothing good for my teeth or waist line!

I'll remember to ask about the chopsticks for Brooklynn. I'll need beginner ones, too!

Congrats on your ADRs!!!! I worry about the money too! Always worried. Don't really care if we eat pb&j in our room the entire time. Just want to have enough to get there and get into the parks.

My budget works out on paper, but it never works out as nicely in real life. There's always some glitch - some kind of household repair, appliance breakdown, car trouble, or something sucking up what little extra money I thought I had. But, I have to have some kind of fun to show for just working all the time, so off to Disney we go when we can possibly do it! It makes me forget all the junk and burdens in life for a while, even if it is does cost a little more than I wish it did.

Thanks for the movie review. Like CP I am on the fence. I think I will get upset-thus upsetting her. Hmm
Congrats on the ADR's, we are doing many of them on our trip so I will take pics and review them for you!

We were telling Bella today about her first character meal. She didn't have much to say. She was very busy eating! :rotfl:

You know I take pictures of every bag in Disney World.
See bag - take picture!

I don't think I noticed about Tigger. I'll do some research in July. :)

I'm a little bit Disney, and a little bit Canada...
(sung to the tune of an old Donny and Marie song, I'm a Little Bit Country.

Thanks for the movie review. Like CP I am on the fence. I think I will get upset-thus upsetting her. Hmm
Congrats on the ADR's, we are doing many of them on our trip so I will take pics and review them for you!

The film was very gentle with the impending death scenes, I thought. If you're undecided, maybe it's best to wait to preview it before your kids, but I don't think video will be quite as awesome as it was on the big screen.

We will look forward to those reviews! :yay:

um....no to the $9 apple...if I am going to spend $9 on one treat then it better be some big piece of chocolate cake or brownie!!;)

I have never seem a stuffed mr potato head...thats pretty cool. Man I am going to need to bring either a) alot of money when we go bc there are going to be too many cute things to decide from for Caleb as a souviener or b) be like memom and take pictures of everything I like and show him later what he could have had:rotfl: I'm thinking B will be better on my wallet. But it will be tough. Good thing we are flying and won;t have much room to take back things!
