A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Looks great to me. In the summer, there is always going to be the heat/crowd/afternoon rain factor. As long as they know that going in, they'll be fine. They just have to prioritize the rides and attractions they want to do most, take time to rest and regroup, and then go at it again to either redo favorites or do some different things. As long as they have good attitudes about it, it'll all be fine.

They are leaving the day we arrive. They'll be the sad people looking jealously at us, the happy people. I like that part of the trip. I hate it when we're the sad people dragging suitcases out having to look at the happy people checking in!

they lived in florida within a short driving trip to orlando for awhile, so they've done disney before - just never in the summer. so the good thing is she knows her way around and knows the ins and outs generally speaking. but she's no expert like you and me!

i actually think they'll be glad to leave. she's one of those people who look at going to disney as a chore of sorts. i mean, she enjoys it but she'd never go if it wasn't for her kids. whereas you and i would go with or without kids. i think by the end of the week they'll be ready to come home. they're a different breed, those non-disney freaks, i tell ya!

i heard you guys had some severe weather last night. hope you didn't get any damage! it's sunny here today but CRAZY windy!

Aaron's birthday was a success, a low key FIESTA!
We never got to the Virgin Margaritas....

I had the "famous' steak with ceasar salad, mixed veggies and a baked potatoe. Fantastic!


We shared the complimentary Bday dessert. A Mocha icecream pie with chocolate cookie base. Topped with caramel & chocolate drizzle and toasted almonds. Yummy!


We were too stuffed for cake when we came home, so we will eat it tonight.

I will show you pics, maybe tonight?

I'm still trying to get Aaron to wear the sombrero and the chili pepper necklace.

Over toward Murfreesboro Rd. and then on into Murfreesboro they had it pretty bad. We were okay at our house, but Drew said one of his friends said something about a tornado sighting off Station Camp Road, I think it was.

Thank heavens!

My kids are at lunch, so all I have to do now is Math, and then I'm home free. Since it's Friday, the ones who have completed all of their work will get to do fun activities after Math and the others will catch up on their work.

I think I am ready to get us into the first park.

Walking up to the entrance.

It was a very pretty day.

We were greeted right inside by a friendly fellow.

We went straight to Tower of Terror, which Kay called House of Terror the whole trip. We got Fastpasses, but they were for 7:40, and we planned to be in Downtown Disney by then. We went ahead and got them, knowing we could give them away later, if we left.

We browsed through the store right outside Disney Animation.

I think it was DisneyJoo that wanted plush toy pictures.

Then on to Disney Animation.

We had to stand in the waiting area for about five minutes, so we read interesting signs.

I know a lot of people think this is lame, but I think it's kind of cute.

I was happy to see this advertisement.

Some of the characters were out greeting guests.

We'll have to get Brooklynn over there this summer, because I'm not sure she has had pictures made with any of those characters, unless she did it on the October trip maybe.

Eeyore wanted to see which character he was most like.

He was, of course.....

Kay answered crazily, just to see who she'd turn out to be.
She ended up being most like...

She's so not Maleficent in real life.
She's more like Dory from Nemo.
Really truly.

Ahh... so pretty I can't wait to go to MGM. Incredibles is a recent hit at my house, so we hope to meet them. 2010 Toy Story 3- by then I might have a little one who loves that movie- yea! I saw that they are being released in 3-D... I cannot wait!

My DH is catering the reception for my senior composition recital, and we decided to do a Disney theme with the food. He's doing chilled strawberry soup shooters, twinkie tiramisu, empanadas, home made pretzels, mini carrot cake cookies, chocolate dipped rice krispie treats (shaped like music notes rather than the main mouse), and mini reuben flatbreads.

Thanks for transporting me to DHS this afternoon via those great pictures! Can't wait for the flight to the Moon of Endor!

They looked plenty full to me. I have a lot of shopping pictures coming, so you can see what's out there. I am disappointed that the value resorts do not have resort specific t-shirts and other items. The higher resorts still do.

It's just a cute little movie where the CM has a scripted interaction with Mushu. We were going to draw, but we didn't get to it. We decided to go ahead toward Star Tours. Maybe our whole gang can go and draw this summer and have an art competition. If Drew goes, he'll be the winner, no doubt.

No, we were going to, but we thought we better get moving if we were going to ride anything.

Maybe there will be artwork this summer. Don't get too excited, though, because I'm a stick figure drawer and even that is pretty bad!

And then inside the ride - no flash. I tried to get something anyway.

I like this ride, but I do have to look straight ahead when they close the side doors and enclose me in yet another of Disney's chambers of death disguised as a good ride!

After Star Tours is when we went over and took the Toy Story Pizza Planet pictures I showed earlier. I dared not eat there without Jill, but the pizza smelled so good!

I love the birthday ornaments....might have to get one for Owen. I've been thinking that his first birthday party should be Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...of course I have a few months to wait, just planning ahead.
