A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

glad to see you guys are okay, jackie! around 7:20 the sirens started going off here so ray and i grabbed the dogs, ran to the car and headed for anna's house because she has a basement and we don't. we hung out there until it passed around 9:00. there are several stop signs in our neighborhood and i ran them ALL going to her house because the clouds were looking VERY SCARY at that point. i'm glad it missed us and you guys, too!

i hope anyone in the southeast who reads this and your families were able to avoid the storms today!

I am glad you are all okay, too, Dawn! I was at my SIL's because she has a basement, and we don't. Our afternoon started around 5:00 with the sirens going off, and our county got about five storms moving through one right after the other -- if you were watching WSB (Channel 2), Ross Cavitt was broadcasting from our county. Those clouds were very scary -- I would have been running stop signs, too!

After storms died down yesterday evening, I came on back to Nashville, since Jill and John were having company and John's parents were coming in today. Jill called me late last night saying they were on their way to the hospital. The pain in her stomach was getting worse, and she couldn't get it to subside, even with medication. John's parents were about to get a hotel room for the night, but John had them come on to the house to keep Brooklynn while they were at the hospital. She has been there all night, and all they have told her is that her white cells are high.

I am on my way back down there. I'll keep you posted. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She has had a rough week.

Update: Jill called before I could get rounded up and said they are sending her home. Other than the high white cell count, they don't see any problems other than her uterus is just having a hard time getting back to normal. They gave her some new medicine, and hopefully that and a long sleep will help get her on the road to recovery. She is exhausted. She's had Bella with her all night long as she has waited and waited and waited on doctors and nurses. You know how it goes in hospitals - nothing ever seems to go quickly. I talked to her three times during the night, and she was pretty much just waiting every time. It took forever to get a CATscan. They were saying she might have appendicitis, but that wasn't the case.

I told her that if the pain persists, she needs to call her regular doctor and get in to see her ASAP, since she does have the white cell count. Hopefully, it is nothing, but I'd rather her be overly concerned than to let something go.

Oh, MeMom and Jill!!! I hope you feel better soon, Jill!!! What a rough recovery! Lots of prayers headed your way!

so sorry to hear about jill! i hope you're feeling better now, jill. hopefully there's some way that you guys can get some sleep. i know you have to be just spent.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, that all of you get much need rest and a Blessed Easter.

Glad to hear everyone weathered the storm. DH and I also spent time in the basement.

Morning! Notice I didn't say good morning! I had a HORRIBLE night in the ER. By midnight the pain had subsided, but we stayed because I didn't want to get back home and have the pain start again. They had said it was a slow night and shouldn't take to long. I figured we would be headed home around 2:00 or so. Boy was I wrong! We left the hospital at 6:00. The communication between the staff was horrible. The doctor wanted to do a CAT scan so after an hour and 20 minutes of waiting a nurse came in and brought a drink for me to drink and then it would take another hour for it to get through my body so I could go have the CAT scan. Seriously I just sat there an hour and 20 minutes doing nothing with a 5 day old baby in my arms. After being assured they would come get me at an hour it was an hour and a half before they took me to get the scan. I got in there moved to the machine and the girl said I'm going to put this dye in your IV. I didn't have an IV so back to the room I went until a nurse could come and start my IV. At this point I asked to be discharged I had my clothes on and I was leaving. The doctor came in and said that my white blood cells were up which could be my appendix and if they burst I could die. I asked how much longer it would be because we were creeping very close to Brooklynn waking up at home and I wasn't there. He assured me thirty minutes. As soon as I was done he would read the scan and come let me know the results. Forty five minutes after I returned from the scan I went down the hall to the bathroom and there sat the doctor drinking a Mountain Dew. He must have seen me staring at him because he said "Your the patient in room 4? Your scan was fine just an enlarged uterus. you can go home." I have never felt so angry in my life. I just stared at him in disbelief. Really an enlarged uterus! They gave you a medical degree to tell a woman who gave birth 5 days ago that she has an enlarged uterus. Before I left I asked for a patient survey card and the people in registration who had been fabulous, so caring and nice, asked what was wrong. When they found out what had happened one of them offered to go get the ER supervisor for me to talk to. I was very glad to talk to someone who could actually address some of the shortcomings I had experienced. When we got home we sanitized and washed evrything that had gone with us - Bella's car seat, diaper bag, clothes, and blanket. Then I fed her and John, Isabella and I went to sleep for about 2 hours while Brooklynn played with John's parents.

Brooklynn wants to type now:

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

And now some smilies:

:santa:pirate::grouphug:

Sorry you had such a rough time at the hospital Jill. I hope the E.R. supervisor takes what you said and makes some changes.

Get some rest! :goodvibes

Hope all goes well for Jill today.... sending prayers that she starts to recover and that all is okay! Have a very Happy Easter!

They gave you a medical degree to tell a woman who gave birth 5 days ago that she has an enlarged uterus.

Wow, where did he obtain this alleged degree.....Incompetence U?

Hope you are feeling better now and I hope Easter is very relaxing for the whole family!

Here's a smiley for Brooklynn - :cutie:

Oh my goodness! What a horrible ER visit. I hope you get some much needed rest today Jill, and feel better! :goodvibes

Jill, I'm SO sorry you have had to deal with all that!

It is definitely no fun when you have to go to the ER and everyone usually expects it to take awhile. But I can only imagine when you don't see much going on and people making mistakes it would be VERY irritating!! :furious:

Here's to you feeling MUCH better soon :thumbsup2....and a big hug to you, john, memom and your girls :grouphug:

Get well soon :goodvibes

Just got in from work....what a mad house it was today.

Why do so many people leave thier Easter shopping to the last minute?

I came home with a headache. :headache:

I wanted to check in and see how BrooklynnsMommy is feeling. Better I hope, and a little rested.

I hate going to the ER for that reason....THE WAITING.....is torture.

Sorry you had a crappy night, we can be thankful you are going to be okay.

I'm off to eat dinner and then color eggs! We have Disney Easter coloring kits with stickers this year!! Are you surprized......

Good night to all! ;)

Oh, MeMom and Jill!!! I hope you feel better soon, Jill!!! What a rough recovery! Lots of prayers headed your way!

It was a pretty wicked afternoon everywhere. From what I have read, it seems like all of our Dis friends made it through everything safely.

She said the girls were opposites - Brooklynn was a rougher delivery but an easier recovery, and Bella was a breeze to have but not so breezy to get over!

so sorry to hear about jill! i hope you're feeling better now, jill. hopefully there's some way that you guys can get some sleep. i know you have to be just spent.

She is spent. I called a little while ago and she didn't answer, so I hope that means she is sleeping.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, that all of you get much need rest and a Blessed Easter.

Glad to hear everyone weathered the storm. DH and I also spent time in the basement.

Hopefully by in the morning, she will be feeling better and will be able to enjoy seeing Brooklynn going through her Easter basket.

Glad to hear you guys made it through the storms fine.

Sorry you had such a rough time at the hospital Jill. I hope the E.R. supervisor takes what you said and makes some changes.

Get some rest! :goodvibes

Sitting around in a hospital is annoying for any of us anyway, but waiting around when you've just delivered and are carrying a newborn with you can get annoying even faster, of course. I know there are procedures and things that go on behind the scenes that we don't always see or understand in the waiting process, but that doesn't make it any more pleasant for the person waiting. I'm just glad she finally got to get out of there, and I'm glad they didn't find anything seriously wrong.

Hope all goes well for Jill today.... sending prayers that she starts to recover and that all is okay! Have a very Happy Easter!

We hope you have a nice Easter, too, with your three precious kids! They're getting Disney Dollars, right? Brooklynn had Disney Dollars in the Easter gifts I gave her, too. She was piling them all around her like she was a rich girl! They were all ones.

Wow, where did he obtain this alleged degree.....Incompetence U?

Hope you are feeling better now and I hope Easter is very relaxing for the whole family!

Brooklynn is just learning that if she touches the B on the keyboard, action happens on the screen. You should see her face light up when she realizes her finger is making it happen! :cutie:

Oh my goodness! What a horrible ER visit. I hope you get some much needed rest today Jill, and feel better! :goodvibes

I know she appreciates the well wishes. I don't know if she will ever be able to catch up on this report and all the nice responses, so I'll just say thank you for her, because I know it means a lot to her.

Did your house make it through everything okay yesterday?

We're hoping for an Opry Mills meet with you whenever Jill makes it up this way, so we'll keep you posted.

Since there's been so much 'bad' stuff around here with Jill feeling so bad and storms and all, let us all travel to a happier place for a few minutes and think of 'funner' things!

As we continued our afternoon at Hollywood Studios, we saw this unique phone booth.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK098.jpg

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK099.jpg

We saw the Mulch, Sweat, and Shears band jammin' in the streets.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK100.jpg

Do you know where this is?

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK102.jpg

It's the little Writer's Stop place.
We stopped in there, even though we're not writers.

We are eaters, and they had these.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK103.jpg

I think I got a couple of the postcards here that I sent to some Dis kids, and I know that I got a cookie.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK104.jpg

I took a couple of pictures while Kay got her treat.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK105.jpg

I want these things...someday.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK106.jpg

Kay was ready to sit down for a while, so we sat and ate our snacks.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK107.jpg

A pretty street on a pretty day.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK108.jpg

We thought for a minute about going on The Great Movie Ride, but since she's been on it twice, we opted to keep going.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK109.jpg

I almost always get a picture of a different autograph, so I told her to pick one for this trip.

She chose this one.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK110.jpg

I took a picture of One Man's Dream as we walked by, but we did not go in at that time.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK111.jpg

I wanted to go into the Toy Story Midway Mania gift shop to look for some toys for our Disney Day party first.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK113.jpg

A fun Toy Story t-shirt.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK114.jpg

The wait time for Toy Story was two hours.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK115.jpg

We had already known that getting to Hollywood Studios as late as we did, we would not get to ride that on that day. It would be up to Kay to decide if she wanted to come back on Sunday and use her last day's ticket to do that.

That's it for now. I'm hoping a short walk through Hollywood brightens up things for Jill when she gets on.
We'll be there in 104 days, baby!

I enjoyed the latest addition to your report. Thanks for the shopping Easter, Kitchen and Toy Story pictures. Did I see a hidden MeMom in that mirror?

Oh, Jill, I do hope that you get some much-needed rest -- your experience at the ER was just horrible!

MeMom, love the newest DHS update! Those cookies at the Writer's Stop look delicious! I am even more excited than ever to get back to Disney because I can't wait to get some of those new shopping bags with the Celebration theme! Really and truly! Do you think that is a sign of a Disney addiction when I get excited about the new bags??? :rotfl:

Did your house make it through everything okay yesterday?

We were all fine here. I just feel so bad for those in the Boro. We were eating dinner out last night and I told Matt it just feels so weird to me that so close to here so many lives were turned upside down....literally. Many prayers go out to them! :grouphug:

We're hoping for an Opry Mills meet with you whenever Jill makes it up this way, so we'll keep you posted.

That would be great! Can't wait!!

Did you see/hear my good :woohoo: news?? Possible FUN things in my future :yay:

Do you know where this is?
disney3-18-09beginningHSAK102.jpg

I don't know but I think it sell's Hidden MeMom's

I hope you guys have a WONDERFUL Easter!!!

Jill ~ I hope you are feeling much better soon and I can't wait to meet Bella :goodvibes

MeMom ~ I hope you get some good rest too....I'm sure you need it also!! Back to the grind tomorrow right??

Sorry about the bad time at the hospital Jill!! I really hope that you get to feeling better!!

Great update MeMom!! I think I saw a hidden MeMom in one of those pictures!!:goodvibes

I just love the Great Movie Ride! I get teared up at the end when they show the montage of all the old movies!

Jill, I hope you are doing better. Sorry about the horrible ER visit.

MeMom Great update. Those cookies looked yummy!

i cant believe that you had such awful service at the hospital. i would've flipped if i seen that doctor just standing there drinking mt dew.

Hope everyone has a happy easter!:grouphug:

Glad you like the shopping pictures.
I like to take shopping pictures. ;)

Jill and I both commented about the new refillable mugs, red paper plates and cups, and Celebrate shopping bags, so I guess we're all in the same addictive state.

Murfreesboro got pelted two times within a few days. I saw some of the damage on the news last night. One clean up person had found some old wedding pictures in a plastic bag, and they were advertising it on Channel 4 to see if they could locate the owner. Something like that will be a great treasure for someone, so I hope they can find who they belong to.

I hope there is a Disney trip coming up for you! That is very exciting news!
Get that camera ready to go, because we will want to see it all.

You're shorting me a day! I still have today for fun, and then tomorrow I go back to the drudgery of TCAP prep. These kids have got to be so sick of TCAP prep tests. Two weeks and it'll all be over. Then we can have some fun.

I like the end, too. Makes me want to go back and watch a bunch of the oldies but goodies. I rarely watch a movie, though, other than if I'm watching something with Brooklynn.

Jill,

Hope you feel better soon!

Have a Happy Easter everyone!

I hope she will wake up feeling much better today.

Happy Easter to you, too!

Jill, I hope you are doing better. Sorry about the horrible ER visit.

MeMom Great update. Those cookies looked yummy!

When I look at that picture, it makes me want to go make a big batch of chocolate chip cookies. I haven't done that in a long time. Not like Charleston Princess - she makes sweet treats often. She's got some good-looking peanut butter ones on display on her PTR right now. Wonder if there are any of those left??? We could run by her house and have a good snack this morning!

no but i do see a hidden memom on display!

I'm ignoring all of you.
It's the only way I could get the picture of the mirror, and I thought it was a cool mirror, so I just got as far out of the way as I could.

Look how serious I am when I work, too! :rotfl:

i cant believe that you had such awful service at the hospital. i would've flipped if i seen that doctor just standing there drinking mt dew.

Hope everyone has a happy easter!:grouphug:

I think Jill pretty much did flip! She says now she should have left at midnight. She was not a happy girl.

Good night to all! ;)

I think we were typing at the same time yesterday.

Did you have a good dinner? You are off today, right?

You are welcome to show your Easter treats to us, as is anyone else who wants to share. We'd love to see what the Bunny brought everyone!

**************************************
To all of our Dis friends, have a wonderful day, whether you are participating in Easter celebrations, traveling, or just hanging out at home. Enjoy the day in whatever way suits you.

Here's a Disney World Easter treat for you.

disney3-18-09MK517.jpg

I got Brooklynn one of these to go in her basket. (Her basket was actually a cute Nemo bucket. I'll show a picture of it later.) She ate his ears off Friday. I got a little bite, and it was pretty good!

One day, we're going to be in Disney World on Easter Sunday. We've been during Easter week, but we came back before Sunday. Disney actually has a church service at The Contemporary this morning, and I think it would be cool to go to that. I also want to be there on Mother's Day sometime and go to the House of Blues Gospel Brunch.

Jill, make note of those two days for future years. :lovestruc
