A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Well, that didn't turn out like I planned.....:rotfl2::confused:

You did good, except you forgot your / after the [ at the end!

And you only need one quote at the start.

You are getting it!!! :cheer2:

Try again on something else. This time, it's gonna work!

Way to slip that in Mom. I'm working on it!

I hope it works out. It looks like we'll probably need to do a different party than Dawn and Brandy and crew, because they need to go Tuesday night, and we'll probably have to go Thursday night. They'll be on their way home. I think we're going to have a 3 day overlap.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Love the pictures of ISAW and the Castle at night!! I just love the castle at night!!!!

It is pretty. Those windows are so pretty, too.

Well of course. I have some camera batteries I bought on our April trip to Bangor and the socks I bought a few weeks ago.

:rotfl2:

That's a start!
The batteries are a must and socks are a plus.

We'll check for further updates on your shopping/packing progress. :)

Memom,

Do you ever get any rest? Just wondering. This may be unforgivable, but I have not ridden IASW since 1995, my first trip. I was pregnant with my first child so I have never ridden it with either of my children. I guess I should do that next time.

Rest? Are you talking about at home or at Disney World? Really, I don't get much rest at WDW. I will have to this time, though, because I can't overdo the leg, since it is getting worse. At home, I get rest, but not much sleep.

We'll forgive the fact that you have deprived your children of Small World, if you correct it on the next trip.

Love the pictures of the little 4th of July darlings.:cutie:

Oh, I wish I would have seen the tshirts. Oh well.

The last picture looking up at the castle is my favorite. Just beautiful.:cloud9:

I liked that picture, too. The castle just lends itself to pictures from so many angles, different lightings, etc.

It did rain, but it was perfect timing for us. We did a festival in town before dinner, ate dinner during the rain at home, then a bunch of neighbors did fireworks between storms. Abby still doesn't like fireworks:confused3. I was hoping the 4th would have been a good sign. We still haven't seen Wishes because she is terrified. I am secretly hoping she will be OK to see it in Nov, but I dont' want to force it on her. I thought about earplugs, but she said she won't wear them. She is a stubborn little thing - haha. She doesn't realize what she is missing. How is Brooklyn with fireworks?

She's fine. They don't bother her at all.

Maybe you can go outside the park to see Wishes, and she'll be able to handle it better.

Hi there
I went back and looked at the video I shot at Ohanas parade. My DD was just behind Mickey and I followed her with the camera when she went by then cut it off. It is very likely you guys passed our table right then. It would have been too funny if I had a video of you guys. :)

MeMom the niht pictures are so pretty. Really makes me miss it. We are going to get to tack on a day at Epcot on the 20th and a day at the pool at POFQ but now I really want to go to the MK.

My DD and I picked Epcot so my non-disney loving hubby's head would not explode that I am making him go more than once this year AND IN THE SUMMER (2 things he hates doing)

I want to stay at POFQ someday.

I hope your husband does not explode. I think that would be not a very pretty sight! :)

If your October dates could include the 1st through the 4th, that would be ideal! :rolleyes1

If we go, it'll be my fall break week, which is the 19th. We're looking at Tues. - Sat. or more likely Wed. - Sat. or Sun. so that Jill can at least work a day or two.

What I wouldn't give for one of those too...:cloud9:

The Magic Kingdom is so neat in October! I hope we get to go, but if we do, it's a budget, budget trip. We'll share food and buy little, but we'll just have fun playing!

Ahh love the night pictures of the Castle. It's even more special to us now that we've eaten at CRT!

I imagine it would be, since you have seen it from the inside of those window looking out!

:goodvibesWhat a sweet update MeMom! We are a IASW loving family, we will be exactly a month after your July visit. Pls put us on your list for NYE fireworks at Poly Beach (keeping fingers crossed). Have a wonderful trip! I don't get to post as often as I like as I have three children, and we are usually running from activity to activity trying to keep them entertained. Off to swim lessons....

We finished out the night by seeing a little Spectro.
We didn't sit and watch it, because we were tired and I really didn't want to do that without Jill and Brooklynn anyway. Kay was ready to get back to the room, so I just snapped a few blurry shots as we left.

I was supposed to say Happy Birthday to Scott from Pirates of the Caribbean, but I had forgotten earlier. I was too lame to walk back around there, so I stopped in the front and did it.

This was the last picture I took from that night.

disney3-18-09MK423.jpg

The next morning, another evil envelope appeared on our door.

disney3-18-09MK424.jpg

Unlike the Magical Express envelope, this one didn't even have a smiling Mickey to try to ease the pain. It just told us to go home!
Note that Eeyore is still smiling, though. I guess he was just glad to be out of the bag and be remembered again. :)

Morning at Pop.

disney3-18-09MK427.jpg

We checked our luggage in before we started the day.

disney3-18-09MK428.jpg

There had to be a POP waffle on the last day, because that's just something you can't get at home.

disney3-18-09MK429.jpg

I have a Mickey waffler, though, which brings me happiness. If I ever see a POP waffler, I will probably purchase it. I wonder what they do with retired POP wafflers? Hmmm.... They might sell them in that CM warehouse, wigd!

Tell your CM friend to get me one of these!

disney3-18-09MK430.jpg

The last day was for our repeat park. Remember, there was no hopping this time. Kay was to go to all four parks and then choose the one she wanted to repeat on the last day.

She chose:

disney3-18-09MK431.jpg

Since we had not ridden Toy Story or Tower of Terror on our first visit (Day One), this is what she wanted to do. It was fine with me, because whatever park I am in on any given day is my favorite park. :)

Some people came out looking for talent for American Idol.

disney3-18-09MK432.jpg

I know they didn't find any where I was standing.

When the gates opened, we followed the masses to the waiting spot to get back to Toy Story.

This happens to be the spot.

disney3-18-09MK433.jpg

And since I knew Charleston Princess was going to be eating there on her trip, I took a picture and imagined her munching down on Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake.

disney3-18-09MK434.jpg

In my imagination, she was a very neat eater. Used her napkin and took little bites and everything.

Also in my imagination, Connor was wolfing his food down, throwing bread out for the birds, and wriggling around in his seat ready to get to the next ride.

I got a picture of this place, too.

disney3-18-09MK435.jpg

It's a very good morning snack stop.
It's a very nice place when they do not run out of apple turnovers early in the morning.

I am glad to hear that you do get some rest at home sometimes. It makes me tired just hearing about all the things you do.

I think Kay chose a great park for your last day. You can't come all the way to Disney World and not ride the Tower of Terror can you?

What restaurant has Grapefruit Cake - sounds yummy. We are trying to decide right now where we will eat dinner at HS to try to get the Fantasmic Priority Seating. I am getting nervous for our 90 day mark coming up. I'm trying for CRT, BBB, and Fantasmis Priority Ressies. Yikes. We will be with friends that have a 4 year old and 1.5 year old, so want to try to simplify getting into Fantasmic. And, eating at a disney restaurant to accomplish that is fine by me:). I have only eaten at Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time and I don't think those are the restaurants you can choose from. Will probably do Sci Fi for lunch, although it has been years since Prime Time. We have some sensitive kids with us and not sure they are ready for their cousin to be telling them to get elbows off the table yet - haha.

I am sure Connor would have done exactly what you imagined, but he was completely occupied with something he had purchased. ;)

That evil, little envelope! What a depressing sign that is that your vacation is coming to a brutal ending. I think HS was a great last park to visit. :)

Some people came out looking for talent for American Idol....

I know they didn't find any where I was standing.

:rotfl2: You crack me up. I know I could never get up there and sing! I'll just leave my singing to driving in the car alone thank-you!

Boo to evil envelopes telling you to go home!

As always, I love your pictures. Wow, DHS looks so uncrowded.

I got all excited thinking that our fall breaks might actually coincide, but Shocker checked and we don't have ours until the Friday before Halloween...I was thinking about getting brave and asking for my two personal days that Monday and Tuesday....
With travel on Friday and Tuesday, that makes for a very short and expensive trip with flights and all.
Anyhow, if and when I get to that CM warehouse, I'll keep my eyes peeled for that Mickey waffle iron for you! I'll probably just tell my friend to look for one as well if she gets over there!

At home, I do very little sleeping. As much as I would like to be able to get 5-6 straight hours, I can't. In Disney World, I give it up when I have to and fall out from exhaustion, but I rarely sleep past four.

I kind of thought Kay might pick Hollywood, because she loves Tower of Terror. I'm going to be reminding her of that next time I see her, because I'm going to plant the seed for a spring break trip again, naturally. :) There is a slight chance we might get together for lunch this week, and if so, I will be talking about how much fun we had on ToT.

Hollywood Brown Derby has Grapefruit Cake, and although I have never had it, I have a pretty good idea what it might taste like. I will probably make one at home one of these days, but we will eat at Brown Derby some day.

We have a H&V Fantasmic Package booked, but after hearing so many, many stories about the package losing its appeal because of decreasing perks, I am 99.9% sure we have changed our plans around and are going to be cancelling it.

Yay for Hollywood Studios!! I think that is a fine choice. :thumbsup2

We enjoyed our last day. :)

your updates always leave me smiling!!Thanks for sharing:)

Glad to know that. We love sharing Disney fun!

I am a very neat eater, and I enjoyed my Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake.

I am sure Connor would have done exactly what you imagined, but he was completely occupied with something he had purchased. ;)

I knew you would be.

I will look forward to seeing what Connor had purchased. You and everybody else can't be putting up too many pictures while we're gone, though. I don't want to miss any of it!

That evil, little envelope! What a depressing sign that is that your vacation is coming to a brutal ending. I think HS was a great last park to visit. :)

I always open the door slowly and get the envelope into the room before everybody else in the resort sees it and laughs and points at us because it's time for us to go home!

Of course, the whole resort is usually asleep when I reach out and grab it in. ;)

:rotfl2: You crack me up. I know I could never get up there and sing! I'll just leave my singing to driving in the car alone thank-you!

I sing in the car alone, too. I know two kinds of music - gospel and Disney. I rock on to both of them. :rotfl:

Boo to evil envelopes telling you to go home!

As always, I love your pictures. Wow, DHS looks so uncrowded.

It is always a little easier when you already have another trip on the books, though.

We were at the front right where the rope was, so there were no people past that. Behind me, there were forty-two million people. :crowded:

That's just past our break. We're out the week of the 19th. I am hoping Jill can at least get a couple of days off that we can put with a weekend, but if not, we'll just know it wasn't meant to be.

It would be totally cool to have a POP waffle iron! The warehouse thing may just be lost and found items, though. Do you know? Maybe just a bunch of stuff guests have left?

I will look forward to seeing what Connor had purchased. You and everybody else can't be putting up too many pictures while we're gone, though. I don't want to miss any of it!

I probably won't update too much while you are gone since I have to go back to work on July 31st. :(

According to my friend, there are all kinds of things there not just the lost and unfound but stuff from the parks and resorts...
She mentioned something about a double decker bus that the characters rode on being for sale in there one time before...

When is your spring break? I remember we had a couple of overlap days this past spring.....:rolleyes1

NOT THE CHARACTER BUS!!!!

I always hoped they would bring that back -- now, I know it will just be a memory. :sad1:

Oh I hate that envelope....I always stick my tongue out at it when I see it hanging on the door! Looks like you were having a good morning though!
