Yeah, yeah I know I lost 7 pounds this week but even greater…I walked a whole mile on the treadmill HANDS FREE!! So what, you may say????

Well when DH bought the treadmill for us 3 months ago I jumped on thinking this is great. With my Queen Classic CD playing I grabbed onto the handlebars and made it through the first song…piece of cake. Now mind you I am a fairly coordinated person, after all I was a springboard diver in hs and college - that takes a reasonable amount of coordination. Back to my walk, the next song starts to play…Bohemian Rhapsody and I lip sync it with all of the emotion the song it performed with, eyes closed total concentration on the lyrics… I let go of the bars and make hand gestures with the strains of music. Then all of a sudden I find myself sitting on the toy box a few inches behind the treadmill the earplugs torn from my ears. What happened? Well, after I looked around to see if anyone saw me fly off the equipment I realized I can’t sing and be hands free. LOL!! So from that day on I have held on for fear of embarrassment and loss of limb. But today giddy from my weight loss I let go! I am please to say I not only stayed on but I increased the speed of my walk!

A very accomplished day for TK!!

Well done ~ You are doing great!!!

At least you sing in the comfort of your own home ~ I have been known to sing away whilst in the gym!!!!

lol I have such a picture in my mind. I hate that treadmill thing, and I give anybody credit who does it. Congratulations. Walking, singing, soon you'll be dancing. Keep up the good work!

Yep- hard to sing and walk hands free! At the Y they have TV's hanging above our heads- there is no way I can look up and walk at a fast pace- I tried it once and was very embarrassed when I tried to keep from breaking my neck on the way down.

7 pounds!!! That's AWESOME!!! I think we're very similar in where we're going and what we want to weigh- I'll be pulling for you all they way!! Are you at Onederland yet?? That's any number below 200! :) Keep up the great work and a good thing you weren't more injured!!! :)

And I'm SOOO impressed by the springboard experience- I LOVE watching those at the Olympics- you'll be back on that board before you know it! :)

Oh my, that is a funny story! :) You have done a great job! Just think, not only are you losing weight and getting in shape but you are also getting coordinated! Maybe you'll be able to chew gum, walk and sing and move your hands around at the same time soon (just kidding!)

Seriously, that is awesome for you!!!!!!!! I'm glad you were able to walk hands-free, that is really wonderful!!! Keep up the great work. I'm sure in no time you'll be playing air guitar and walking! ;)

LOL, TK!!!!
Try walking and singing WITHOUT the hand movements, I think that is where you went wrong!! ;)

And 7 POUNDS??? WOW!!!!!!!! Way to go!!!!
