Background:
Me ¡V 35 years old ¡V Computer Programmer (when I can find work) Grew up loving Disneyland and now Loves WDW even more. Addicted to the DIS.
DW ¡V 28 years old ¡V Homemaker/Domestic Goddess ¡V Works twice as hard as I ever thought of working.
DS1 ¡V 2 years old
DS2 ¡V 2 years old.

We live in Saint Michael MN

Dates ¡V Saturday Sept 29 ¡V Tuesday Oct 2.

This vacation DS1 and DS2 were left home with Grandma. Definitely made this a relaxing adult vacation.

This was a surprise vacation in that we weren¡¦t planning on a vacation at this time. We had taken a vacation in May to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. We also had vacations already planned as follows: Dec -¡VTaking family to WDW. March 2002 ¡V DW and I taking a week to visit our Timeshare at Whistler mountain and ski. April, 2002 ¡V DW and I celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary at WDW.

I found tickets in August, MSP to MCO for 106.00, so I did what any red-blooded Dis-infected Patriotic American male would do, I borrowed some DVC points and we took another vacation.

Day 2: We woke up early to meet the sun ¡V we had early entry privileges so we quickly showered and headed out to the bus stop and¡K WAIT A MINUTE ¡V START OVER. One_cat and DW getting up early on a vacation - No Way!!! - I must be suffering some kind of delusions. Let me try again:

We woke up about 11:00. After our long day on Saturday it was really nice to get a chance to sleep in ¡V no kids and no worries. I got up and opened the shades - voila - a beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky. Opening the sliding glass door we faintly hear the ¡§Dances With Wolves¡¨ theme playing outside. Every so often we hear the honk of a boat or the squawk of a bird or the laughter of children heading for the parks or the bell from a surrey. The parks are great, but this is what Disney is all about. That feeling you have when you get up in the morning - no worries, no to-do list. You are at the most magical place in the world.

We had planned to meet Bwalker, her husband and some friends - they have PSs at Canada for 1:00 so we must hurry. We quickly shower, dress and hop on the bus to MGM. From there we walk to the Friendship dock and ride the boat to the International gateway at Epcot. We feel a tinge of nostalgia as we stop at the Boardwalk Dock. All the kiosks are closed ¡V they will be open later tonight ¡V and the Boardwalk looks deserted but we can imagine the feeling of walking that boardwalk on a lazy afternoon - maybe grabbing an ice cream cone or a sticky bun from the bakery. We love the Boardwalk and we will be staying here again in December.

We walk through the International gateway at exactly 1:00 and wander to Canada where we meet Bwalker and crew. Bwalker, her husband and friends are truly some of the nicest people we've met. It¡¦s incredibly refreshing to be able to share our mutual love of WDW with people who really understand. We eat a leisurely lunch and enjoy each other's company.

After lunch we ride Spaceship Earth, Body Wars and Cranium Command. We then watch The American Adventure. There was a collective gasp when the Twin Towers were shown. Anybody think that this part will be changed in the future? It was pretty emotional.

As we near France we come upon a large crowd. It is a living statue. Neither of us had seen this before. She is terrific - I think it's a she :) She grabs people's glasses and does not return them until they kiss her. She poses then just before the flash of a camera she will change the pose or imitate the person posing in front of her. She is hilarious.

We decide to have dinner at Beaches and Cream. We are lucky ¡V not only is there room available but we get to sit right beside the Juke Box. This means that we get to choose the music for the restaurant during the entire time we are there. :)

The food is terrific but it's a good thing we only order one sundae to split. It is huge. I can imagine what is going through other guest's minds as I take a picture of this huge sundae sitting between us on the table. Hey - we are having fun.

After a not-so-brief sojourn to Downtown Disney to shop we called it a day.

Oh the pain of withdrawal and it's only been 2 weeks. Aren't the villas just the best? I'm really enjoying reading this. It's like I'm there again.

Yes the villas are beautiful. I wondered about the people who bought at VWL (We own at BWV) but after seeing them I can understand why a person would own there. On our honeymoon we stayed at a place at Whistler called the Timberline Lodge.

VWL had very much the same feel with the heavy wood doors and the wood paneling. It even had the same smell with the leather and wood. Walk into the train room and take a deep breath. That is exactly what My Grandma's house used to smell like. Deep leather. I was surprised that there was an atrium in the VWL building. I really expected it to just be a building with a hallway and a bunch of doorways into the villas. It really gave it a lodge feel that is very attractive. We still love BWV but we would definitely stay here again.

Day two sounds like a good day too! Thanks for the report!

Great report!! Thanks for posting.
