A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Well, this is strange. The service man called and said that he talked to my Warranty people again and got them to cover the service! He only saved me $20, but hey $20 is $20. At least something worked out right.

Cheri,

Maybe this is the sign that things are going to be going your way.

I like him better anyway! (I saw him last year when all these problems FIRST started and the first PCP I had sent me to him, but he gave me prilosec OTC and sent me on my way. Yeah, sounds crappy but ALL the doctors seem to do the same thing.

You got that right. That is what most doctors (western doctors or more specifically MDs) have become today. They are just legitimate drug pushers. My brother-in-law is an MD and he doesn't even deny it. Did you know that MDs get incentives to write prescriptions? My brother-in-law hasn't had to pay for a vacation OOP since he has been an MD, because the pharmaceutical companies use vacations as incentives. It's something like: sign out 1000 prescriptions (or recommendations) of prilosec and we will give you a 7 day trip to the Bahamas. I can go on all day about the faults of western medicine, but I am gonna stop before I get too upset.

Hope you are feeling better and you get some answers from having the ultrasound. Prayers for your Grandma and I hope she continues to improve. You sure are having a rough week, hang in there.

Well thank goodness you got the appointment scheduled. It will come fast since this is a holiday weekend! Also good that you got a Doc you like!

Sorry to hear about the car...what a pain :headache:

How is your Grandma? Did they not do the surgery?

ugh...I can't believe that!!! Okay, maybe I can believe it, but that's just TERRIBLE! No wonder half the people in this country are addicted to pain pills or the like!

thanks for that bit of info. Maybe I will confront my doc about that next visit if he tries to give me more meds...:rolleyes1

I sure hope it comes fast! Since this Friday is SUPPOSED to be my Friday off, and my boss is on vacation (so I have to go in) I get to take a different day off. I had originally picked Tuesday, and now that I know about this appointment (couldn't go to the doctor on Tues b/c he's in another office) I am going to go into work on Tuesday and take off Wednesday. I know the appt will be another 2 hour affair so I won't make it back to work, so I figured rather than having to use more sick time, I'll just make THAT my day off.
Well...not that I LIKE. But I can tolerate.

Yeah, at least it's fixed now!

I think she needed more time so her neck could align more. That brace she has is trying to get it in line so they can operate. Thank you for asking.

According to my mom, my grandma has feeling up to her knee in that left leg now! More than likely, the reason she hasn't felt anything in her right leg is because her ankle is broken (I didn't realize that...I think I may have said wrist before). The orthopedic surgeon has to take care of that, and her hip, sometime this week. She just went into surgery a couple of hours ago for her neck. That will take 6 hours. :scared1:

I just hope the doctors can fix her up!

Cheri,
Any feeling or movement is a great sign. I will keep her in my prayers also. And the rest of the family.

Hey Cheri,
I am new to your TR and I just got all caught up (Good distraction from writing a paper for my communication class). I love it and I can't wait to read more but take your time. I am so sorry for all of the crap you have had to go through lately. I am really sorry about your dog and I hope you and your grandma both feel better.

:welcome: Wow, you read all that? :worship:

thank you SO much!!!!

Hi Cheri - Sorry to hear everything that has been going on. Hope you do well and your Grandma get better.

thanks girl!!

I called the doctor's office again today, and left a message for the nurse. Even though they say strictly that they will not give test results over the phone, I really just wanted to know if mine were in. I figured the Ultrasound results would be in, but not the Celiac.

Well, she told me the results anyway. She said "the Ultrasound was normal" :sad2:

Now I have to try and get this HIDA scan done next week! I tried to get in to see the doctor for this afternoon but they were booked. I am going to call and hope for a cancellation for the morning of the 28th, so I can get an EARLIER appointment. Right now it's scheduled for 3:15 on the 28th and I have a day off to use next week so I picked that day. If they can get me in earlier, at least I'd have a better chance of getting the HIDA scheduled for the next day.
This is VERY disappointing news for me, as I was hoping to not have to do any more tests. I have been miserable for the past week, and today proves to be no different. I ate a few pieces of seedless watermelon this morning, and my stomach has been upset since then. Basically, anything I eat messes with me, so I don't eat much---and when I do eat, I get full VERY quickly.
I'm 5'0 and 110 pounds(just lost 5 pounds over the past couple days) but at this rate I'll be 100 pounds by my doctor's appointment next Wednesday. I don't know how much more of this I can take!!
They BETTER do the HIDA scan! And if that doesn't show something, I just don't know what I am going to do. I can't imagine that my gallbladder is even working at ALL right now. I've been having almost constant pain in my back, shoulder, and just below my ribs in the front.

What else could it be? I have ALL the symptoms of gallbladder dysfunction.

my SIL too lost a bunch of weight when she had her gallbladder problems (only at that time they still could not tell her what was wrong with her either) and she did not have any weight to lose. She was tall and skinny to begin with.

i can not believe those doctors, call one and ask if u can have it taken out...

tell them yuou are the patient and you want it out.

:)

hope you have a good day.

Cheri,
Stand your ground. I didn't with my hernia and I almost died. I spent almost 2 months in intensive care with my DH and family not knowing whether I was going to live or not for over three weeks. I don't even remember about a month of that time. You have to be proactive. I will keep you in my prayers and Grandma too.

I just wanted to give you some hope. (I have not read from the beginning yet but, I saw this post). I had symptoms very similar to yours after my middle son was born. They thought I had gall stones and sent me in for a sonogram. That came back fine. My Dr said it was probably just stress.:sad2: I made an appointment with a Gastro (too long to spell..lol) and he immediately sent me in for the HIDA scan. They told me during the test that my gallbladder was not functioning at all. The gastro agreed and sent me to a surgeon. I had surgery two weeks later and the surgeon told me after the surgery that I had "one sick gallbladder".
I am a different person now! Thankfully, I went with my instincts and saw another Dr since mine was convinced that it was not my gallbladder since my sonogram was clear.
I hope you can get the HIDA scan quickly and get to the bottom of what is going on. Feel better soon!!

Oh yeah, the HIDA scan is kind of freaky, not scary though. It literally put me into a gallbladder attack on the table. You know the feeling I am talking about. As soon as I told them what I was feeling they told me that was what the test did if your gall bladder was not functioning. I was glad when it was done!

I don't even know you but

Reading this is helping me to believe again, to believe that I am not crazy but that something is really wrong with me. I trust that the HIDA scan will give me the answer once and for all.

Oh that doesn't sound comfortable at all! But if it gives me answers, I will do it. I have heard of people eating their "trigger foods" the day before the HIDA scan to be sure that the dysfunction shows up on the test. Did you do that?

I have this strange feeling that I am going to end up having surgery right before my birthday (June 14th) :sad2:

 Right back at ya!;) I know all to well how it feels when you can't get answers and you know there is something wrong.
I did not hear about eating trigger foods the night before but, if it might help I would consider it. The medication they use during the test (I can't remember what it was now, it has been 7 years for me) simulated what an attack would have felt like if I ate something that triggered them. That is what I meant about freaky. But don't worry, that was over pretty quickly.
I felt the same way as you. Do whatever you need to do to find out what is wrong.
My surgery was done laparoscopically. I have four tiny little scars from the incisions. I was in the hospital overnight. I came home with minor lifting restrictions. My recovery was very quick and smooth.
Hopefully if you have to have surgery, it is done quickly and everything goes well!!
Give me a shout if you have any questions.:goodvibes -Allison
