A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Hey I did find you and the compliment, thank you!!! :flower3: You and your fiance are adorable, can't wait to see your planning unfold, glad there are more posters now, they always pick up gradually, pictures DEFINITELy help!
Lesley

I can't believe I'm still DISing tonight. It's just hard to sleep alone in the house. (besides the 2 dogs)

Thank you for the post, and the compliment. :goodvibes Actually I should've been more specific about that B&W pic. It's a pic from last October--before we were married. ( I just really like the pic) So he *was* my fiance' then. We were married in Nov. Now we are a happily married couple---and the time is flying by! Before you know it we'll be eating year old cake from the freezer! mmmmm! Maybe after my trip I can do a countdown for the 1 yr. anniversary

Ok, I'm a NITWIT extraordinaire! I completely forgot to FINISH day 2.

-We'll take an afternoon break if necessary. Of course, being on the DDP, we'll have dinner---at California Grill at 5:40, then Wishes (not sure if we'll be watching it from the balcony (there is a balcony right?) or high-tail it back to MK on the monorail after our meal.
-Then we're staying for EMH! Full speed ahead is our motto!
-To bed, to bed I said! Tomorrow is another day.

Ok, I feel better now. :dance3:

Sounds like a great plan. And what they say is true about the short waits in Sept...Just get there EARLY, because no matter what time of year you go you will encounter days where all FP's are gone for the good attractions and long lines for standby by early to mid afternoon.

Congrats to the newlyweds, time does fly by, can't believe we are already at 9 years, goes fast especially when you are married to your best friend:love: That one year old freezer cake really let us down, hope yours is better! Oh and by the way, love the new trippie title, we'll lend you ours!!!
They're cute:

Thanks. I plan on getting to each park at opening at least once. Even if I have to go myself! So what kinda waits are we talkin? Can't be nearly as bad as July! Last year we had a 2 hour wait for Soarin'! Unfortunately all the FPs were gone, and we just HAD to see it, so we waited. (we only had one day in each park  ) If they had those interactive games back then, it would have made the wait much easier. Not to mention, if my parents hadn't decided for us to have a day at U-------l S-----s (I can't even type it out! ), we would've had another full day at WDW. We all regretted going there....we didn't have a pleasant experience. Oh well, this year I'll have much more time---7 day passes, and if the flights work out right, that means 6.25-6.50 days in the parks. (yes, very technical I know. )

The waits were typically 30 minutes for say Mission: Space and 90-120 for Soarin...But not in the early morning...We only saw waits of 10 minutes and most were walk on...I would always try and get FP for Soarin then head over to Test Track to ride, making my way back towards the Land to possibly see Crush (if interested) or ride Nemo and then over to Soarin for the FP time. That is what works best for us at least.

I am cracking up, I do the technical times also..Every second counts!

Thanks! I hope our first 9 years are as good as yours! You and Tim make such a great couple. :flower3: I'll let you know how the cake turns out. I'll write a CR (cake report)
Thanks...I thought of the title last night when I posted on your TR! :)

I LOVED seeing that picture of the kids again. :cutie: They are just the cutest things ever, and that picture shows the excitement in their faces. I'm reminded of what Lauren said "I don't want to sleep in my stinkin' bed anymore, I want to see the princesses!" I'm sure they'd love to go back so soon! :cloud9:

It’s time for….

Day 3 (Sept 17th)
MGM STUDIOS DAY
-Another early wake up call
-Park opens at 9, get there before rope drop
-Hit Tower of Terror and Rock’n Roller Coaster (PLEASE let it be open!) first thing. (Get a FP for one and ride the other)
-Catch the Great Movie Ride (and hopefully win dream FP badges, as I’ve heard many DISers have done in the AM)
-Get a FP for Indiana Jones
-Eat an early/light CS lunch at Starring Rolls Café or Backlot Express (wondering if we’ll actually need to use 2 CS credits here, or if we can get away with one....any thoughts?)
-use FP at Indiana Jones
-Early dinner at Sci-Fi Dine in at 4:05 PM (still trying to make this a little later…ugh)
-Probably take a short break …we’ll need it because……
-Tonight is EMH for MGM!! :woohoo: (we are REALLY pushing our limits aren’t we?)

If we can get our dinner scheduled a little later, we can take a break after lunch/Indiana Jones, and go back for dinner, staying through EMH (or part of it). Now I’m thinking of maybe changing to a different restaurant. I’ve been trying to get Kona to replace Spoodles on Thurs. the 20th…but I could just keep Spoodles on Thurs. and change Sci Fi to Kona on day 3, (we could have a nice break at the resort, then get ready for dinner) I just don’t know how long it takes to get to Poly from our resort. I just don’t know what to do. :confused3 I’ll take ALL the help I can get. Experienced Disney TS restaurateurs, lend me your thoughts! :wizard:

NEXT: Itinerary: Day 4 - Epcot!

I thought I'd share some pictures with y'all.

This is my cousin's son Nathan, who just turned 5 this summer. He went to Disney for his first time in May 2006. I wanted them to come with us in September but they can't afford it because my cousin is getting married in October and crusing for her honeymoon (Carnival, not Disney)
NathanTigger.jpg

NathanwithMickey.jpg

and yea, he's small for his age. but too cute :cutie: I'll go to WDW with him some day.

Last month I went to visit one of my mom's friends in Florida. She had a HUGE house on the bay, but what I was MOST impressed with was this:
Cinderella.jpg

It's a VERY expensive Cinderella Carriage. I'm not sure if I should say how much it costs, it's just THAT expensive!
The reigns are made of real gold. Here's a closeup:
Cinderella2.jpg

This is a gorgeous picture my sister took of the bay at night. (It's my desktop background right now)
Beautifulnight.jpg

As a side note we are going again to visit in 2 weeks, so I will come back with some pictures to post.

And here's a very RANDOM one of my dog, Coal, when he was just a widdle puppy.
Coal.jpg

I miss that stage of his life. (except the house training part)

Well...Mike is coming home tonight, so hopefully we'll discuss flight info. Although he said he's not ready to book it yet. But we'll see...

:goodvibes
Oh my, that dog is squeezable too!
I like to squeeze dogs!

Hello Cheri!!! Can I have your dog??? He is tooooooo cute! :teeth:

Hello Cheri!!! Can I have your dog??? He is tooooooo cute! :teeth:

yeah, gladly. I've got another one anyway. :rotfl: I need to post a pic of him. Don't have one of him as a pup because we got him when he was already out of that stage (a coworker of mine found him a few days after hurricane Katrina in an LSU parking lot). Actually we don't have many pictures of Merlin at all....after all he is our 2nd child. lol (I'm the oldest, and my mom didn't take as many pictures of my sister :rolleyes1 )

Ok...so for all you Star Wars fans out there, Mike brought home something you'd like. He won it in a sales competition when he worked at Blockbuster. I took a picture of it...but here's where the teaser title comes in. We moved recently, and I don't know where the thingie is to transfer the picture from the camera. So you'll have to wait until I can upload it. I'll give you a hint. About 3 feet tall it is.

I have a hard time making decisions. And I keep wanting to change my mind. So I need some help here. I'm now thinking of changing to 50's Prime Time instead of Sci Fi Dine in. I need some feedback, though, since I've never been to either one. Which is better: Sci Fi or 50's Prime Time for dinner?

thanks in advance for the help!

cherbear, I have only eaten at 50 prime time once in 2005, we did not have a good experience. We had ressies on the ddp, and waited still for almost an hour to be seated after our ADR time. The waiting area is very small.
My seafood primavera was very blah. The shrimp were way over cooked. DH got the steak and it came to him rare, after he said well done. It had to be returned and it came when every once else was done eating.
Our cousin was not friendly and we had to get another waitress to go found her so we could order dessert. Then we waited forever to get the check.
I have to tell you this was on my top list to do in 2005, and I was very dissapointed. Other have brag on here how great the place is.

Sci-Fi on the other hand we had a great experience we were seated right away with our ADR. The ironic thing was Sci-Fi looked way busier when we arrived, then 50’s prime time. Our server was so nice and friendly. It was our first meal using the DDP and she want over ever detail for us. I thought the food we great and so did DS and DD. DH on the other hand though it was ok. But I think because he is so picky of an eater.
The Reuben was great!

Thank you. Maybe I WILL stick with Sci Fi. I'm still trying to change to a later time though. I've heard some bad reviews and some good reviews, so I figured whichever restaurant I could get at a better time I would take it. Anyone else have an opinion?

On to another day...

Day 4 (Sept 18th)
EPCOT
-Opens 1 hour early (8 AM) for Extra Magic Hour. Since we never made it to an early EMH last year, I want to try and see how it goes. (I wouldn’t have done it in the middle of summer anyway) We(actually…I) plan to be there at least 15 minutes before the EMH opening (what’s the best time to get there for an EMH?) and ride as much as we can before the regular opening.
-Since we’re getting there for the EMH, I don’t really have a plan as to what we’ll ride first. :confused3 I think Soarin’ would be best. Then Test Track. Mission: SPACE would be after that if I can handle spinning, ie. “blasting off” (sorry if I spoiled the secret for anyone) that early in the morning. I am thinking we can fit all 3 into that hour (or at least be in line for the 3rd by the time the hour is up). Is that realistic? Also, do they issue FP for the early EMH like they do in the evenings?
-Next, we’ll ride the Seas with Nemo and Friends
-Catch Ellen, & Figment
-Sample some flavors at Club Cool. Trick Mike into tasting the Beverly! ;)
-At some point get to Honey I Shrunk the Audience
-Explore Innoventions. I haven’t done this since I was very little, and Mike has never done it. I have a feeling he’ll really enjoy this (as will I).
-Head to the World Showcase and grab a CS lunch at the place(s) of our choice. I want to try Morocco or Japan, but I don’t think Mike will be too keen on either. He’s a lot pickier than me when it comes to food.
-Tour the World Showcase, being sure to see the train in Germany, The British Invasion in the UK, Maelstrom in Norway, The Three Cabarellos in Mexico, and the Circlevision video in China.
-Dinner is planned for 7:10 at Les Chefs de France, though I’m still holding out hope for Le Cellier. We’ll see.
-Of course, Illuminations is a must-see! If we don’t catch it on this night, tomorrow for sure!
-We’ll have to head back to the hotel with the masses. Hopefully we don’t have to wait more than an hour.
-If we have any energy at all, we may head to Pleasure Island for an hour or so. We’ve never been there, and I’m looking forward to the Adventurers Club. Kungaloosh! (did I get that right?)

If we're able to fit a break into this busy day :rotfl2: we'll take a nap at the hotel. I think I mentioned this, but last year we took no breaks and Mike and I were always the first ones up and ready. So we can do without a break on a day or 2. But I don't want to push it too much. I think Disney is a natural stimulant for me...I can just go and go and go. :rotfl: He'll have to tell me when he needs a break because I just might not!

So....any comments or tips on this Epcot day?

Days 5(AK), 6(TL?), & 7(Last day...*sniffle*)

I must be SO BORING! Don't worry, I'm getting some old Disney pics uploaded onto photobucket, although I can't seem to find all of them yet! I hope they are still in this computer SOMEWHERE.

I'm going to post the final days in a few minutes, and hopefully be able to add some somewhat relevant pictures. :thumbsup2

I've got to move away from the meat and potatoes, and move on to SUSHI!

I realize that I didn’t quite start off this thing right. (Forgive me, I’m a beginner.) I didn’t mention my age—by the way I’m 25, although I look 16 and will probably get carded for the next 40 years! :confused3 (Mom keeps reminding me that it’s a good thing) If I hadn’t told y’all that you might have wondered why I’m going to Pleasure Island!
My husband is also 25---his birthday is on Halloween. Maybe he’ll get to celebrate in WDW on his 30th! :wizard: Just a thought. I’ll give more personal details as we go along.
Another pic of us:
Kiss_edited.jpg

kinda mushy, I know. The photopass photographer made us do it!

Now I don’t think I specifically mentioned our tickets---We got 7 day park hopper (w/ water park fun n’ more option) We plan on visiting Pleasure Island and DQ (that's DisneyQuest NOT Dairy Queen :lmao: ) at least once each; as well as Typhoon Lagoon, even if only a couple of hours. No matter what we’ll get our money’s worth. That said….let me get to the last few days:

Day 5 (Sept 19th)
ANIMAL KINGDOM
-Early wake up call as usual
-Get to AK 30 min before opening
-Run to EE and grab a FP. If wait is short, get in the regular line.
-Ride Kilimanjaro Safaris (hopefully the animals will be out and about!)
-And Since AK is pretty easy to see in a day AND there are EMH this evening, we’ll play the rest by ear and be sure to see Dinosaur, Kali RR (maybe I won’t get soaked for once?), It’s Tough to be a Bug, the Nemo show, LK if we have time (we saw it last year and it was great I want to see it again), Pangani Forest Trail, and Oasis Exhibits (don’t think I saw these last 2 last time)
-We’ll have lunch at our absolute FAVORITE Disney CS (so far)—Flame Tree BBQ

I interrupt this schedule for a family AK pic from last year's trip:
AK_family2.jpg
This is my parents, sister (blue shirt), her best friend Melanie, and my husband in the back. From the looks of it, that was at the END of a LONG day.

Back to our regularly scheduled program
-At about 6 we’ll hop to Epcot (unless we’re ready before the regular closing time)
I’m thinking that at 6 we shouldn’t have too much of a wait for the bus, considering the regular park closing is at 5. So all those non-Disney-resort folks should be just about gone by 6. Whaddaya think?
-We have an ADR at Garden Grill at 7:20. I’m excited about this one. I get to see Mickey…and my favorites---Chip & Dale!!! I don’t know WHAT it is about those 2 but I am just NOT happy if I don’t get to see them at least once every trip. Love them!
-If we decide to leave AK super early, we’ll hit our favorite attractions at Epcot before dinner.
-If we didn’t see Illuminations the night before, we’ll stay on this night to watch.

Day 6 (Sept 20th)
WHATEVER DAY
-Now that we’ve had 4 full days in the parks, now we have a day where we can return to the parks where we want to “repeat-ride”, and/or go to Typhoon Lagoon (Did BB the last 3 visits to WDW)
-My grandfather and some 2nd & 3rd cousins should be arriving on this day, so we might meet up for lunch or something. I haven’t gotten to discuss this with them. But when I find out the specific plans, I’ll post. My grandfather is an ABSOLUTE DISNEY NUT! (Wish I had a pic of him handy) He is the one that “trained” me and my cousins into being Disney freaks. We def. have him to blame. hehe
-Have an ADR at Spoodles for 5:10, but I would rather go to Kona. Wish me luck on getting that.

Moving right along...
Day 7 (Sept 21st) Departure day :sad2:
-I wish I had more time! We’re going to do what we can (I’m already 90% sure we’ll have a afternoon flight) before it’s time to go. I’ll do everything in my power to make the last day as magical as possible! I would love to see the MK and Epcot again. No ADR’s on this day, so we don’t have to work around any time schedule but the flight. Such a sad, sad day.

But hey, only 54 days til the trip!!

Here's a funny pic from MGM last year.
MGM_family1.jpg
I have no idea what Mike was looking at....well ok maybe I have some idea :rolleyes1 (just kidding, he did that on purpose)

Hope the pictures helped!!!!!! <-- Lesley, that's for Lauren! I remember you said she got a kick out of it. hehe

A song that I wrote for your enjoyment!
