A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

I just got caught up Cheri, and I'm SO sorry to hear about Coal. :sad1: That is so terrible of the pound, I would definitely throw a fit about that. Of course nothing will make it better, but it might keep them from doing that to someone else's pet.

Believe me, I know just how you feel. :guilty:

YOU GO GIRL!!!
:woohoo:  :woohoo:

thanks!! :thumbsup2

Honey, I'm so sorry!

thank you. It's getting easier as time passes.

I can't believe the BS this place is doing to you. They definitely need to have someone stick it to them. I think you would be handling it the right way if you decided to put it in your local newspaper.

Yeah, they are all a bunch of bull-$%^$!# who don't know what they are doing and don't give a %&$#

You're right--they will still do what they want but maybe people will not bring their pets there.

Hey everyone! I have a good explanation as to why this TR seemed to have slowed to a screeching halt (but it hasn't...I promise, I will finish soon!) I already posted it on my PTR so I will just lead y'all there. It's a VERY long post, so I hope I don't scare anyone off.

Here is the link:

Cheri, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I know what you are going through. I went through a similar experience. Stick to your guns Sweetie, don't let them push you around or give you the run around.

May God Bless You. I will keep you in my prayers and my thoughts.

seems a little too common. I think they should start taking out the appendix and gallbladder at birth. :rotfl:

(for those of you that are on my new PTR you will see this there too)

Okay..I'm probably going to forget a lot, but I'll try to recap as best as I can. First of all, I had to fill out paperwork AGAIN even though it wasn't my first visit. They said every 12 months, and I apparently JUST hit the 12 month mark. Then, I had to wait over an hour to get to see the doctor. Mom and Dad were with me so we talked about stuff, mainly my symptoms, and I had brought some of my research with me to show them, so we had that to look over. Mom read all of it herself. She loves reading stuff like that.

I told the doctor everything I could think of. He didn't seem to like the fact that I went in with my own "diagnosis." So he came up with something else to test me on as well: Celiac disease. I was able to get that bloodwork done shortly after the appt. to get it over with. Just to appease him I guess! :confused3
Here are the highlights:
  • My mom said she was shocked they didn't test my gb last year. He said "she didn't have any symptoms that pointed to the gallbladder" Okay, Can you say COP OUT?!
  • When I told him about the lettuce and stuff, he said something about maybe catching a "bug" ---a 2 year bug? geez! I explained to him that this was NOT the first time I have seen it come out whole. It has happened for a while now, but that this is the first time I researched it to find that it was actually a symptom for something. He didn't really have much to say to that.
  • The best part was when he said something along the lines of: "not all your symptoms point to gall bladder" like he just WANTED to prove me wrong. Hmm...I wanted to say: Okay, if I came to you with a broken toe, it's purple, it hurts, it won't bend, but my finger is hurting too, are you going to say "well, not all your symptoms point to a broken toe" ? My point is, not everything has to be related. I just simply wanted to give him as much information as I possibly could. He really ticked me off, but he did say he "wants to get the gall bladder checked out" so he ordered an ultrasound and I called in between there and running over to the place to do the bloodwork. They had Friday morn available, which I can't do b/c of work. :sad2: And they had Saturday at 9 AM so I took that, and my cousin is going to go with me since Mike is working. The only thing I have to do is fast from midnight the night before. No problem at all.
  • Referring to the chest pain, he prescribed me Aciphex because I might have acid reflux/heartburn. (C'mon doc, I know what heartburn feels like and that was NOT it. Felt more like a heart ATTACK. Seriously! I just took the little samples and smiled and nodded because I was getting what I wanted ultimately (the ultrasound). If he had written me a prescription for acid reflux pills I would have told him to go ___ himself! (fill in the blank!)

I just hope the US shows something, so that I will have quick results, and not have to wonder anymore. I don't want to have to take the HIDA. And if so, I don't want to have to beg him to give me the HIDA scan. If that's what it takes though, I will demand it.

If I think of anything I missed, I will come back and let y'all know.

Saturday just can't get here fast enough for me!!! :yay:

Cheri,
You might also want a CT scan done too. I went through the IB bs. I was told for 8 years that I had a fat mass. But what I had was an incarcerated hernia, my intestines were outside my stomach lining. And twisted to boot. It took an Intern in the ER to finally get a surgeon involved. I almost died. I was in the ICU for almost two months. I don't remember a month of that time. Fight the DR's to get what you need done. I didn't, I believed that it was all fat related and I almost died. Thank God for your Mom right now. And your DH.

God Bless You,
Michele

How horrible! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I HATE doctors! I've started using people in St. Tammany because they just seem better over there. I really dislike North Oaks and most of their employees. I've had to go to the ER before and we just spent $800 for the doctor to tell me to get a hobby. :sad2:
I really really hope you can get your gallbladder removed. I hear they do it with a laser now with only a couple small holes, so you would heal quickly. Keep us updated when you can and I'm praying for you!

wow...yeah I had read about your horrible situation. Thankfully I don't think I have anything like that. I am having all the symptoms of gallbladder attacks. We'll have to see what the Ultrasound finds and go from there!

thanks!

get a hobby? May I ask what was wrong when you went? That is why I didn't go when I had the chest pain...although I should have. WebMD says if you have strong chest and stomach pain you should call your doctor right away and since mine was out of town I should have gone. I know they would not have tested me for gb anyway. And I wouldn't have thought to ask. NOW I know, so if I get that chest pain between now and Saturday I will go to the ER and tell them to test me right away. I don't want to risk it bursting! I am having mild pangs here and there, but nothing strong. And the back pain (under my ribs) is full fledge every now and again.

I forgot to add something so I am going to do it in another post

There was something I missed that I just thought of. Sorry--long night last night!

I may go add this into the original post now...

I am just getting on to read this now! I am sooooo sorry to hear about Coal! My heart is breaking for you. I would be beside myself and I would want to rip someones head off at the pound...but thats me.

I haven't gotten to read nay further then your first update so I don't know if you have spoken with them and what their story was but I am just upset FOR you.

I had two thoughts when I was reading your post before your dr appt of your symptoms. The 1st thought was that it was your gallbladder because of the running to the bathroom and pretty not much keeping anything down. That happened to my SIL also right after she started having kids (which I guess is kind of common in women after childbirth for the gallbladder to go bad)...she went to drs and years of not knowing what it was. They finally did an ultrasound and her gallbladder was completely full of stones. Took her gallbladder out and she felt great....until after she had her last kid. Ended up being an ulcer that time though. (which the doctor also tested her for celiac also but it was negative)
2nd thought was when you said you have been constipated for a long time. My two little 2nd cousins have Celiac disease. That was my one little cousins symtoms. The found out my cousin had celiac so my cousin (the mother) wanted her other daughter tested to be on the safe side. Turns out both her kids have it. My cousin and her husband were both tested for the disease and to see who is the carrier because it is a genetic disease. They determined it did not come from my cousin so it must be from her husbands side of the family (they did not do the genetic test on him)

Does anyone else in your family have stomach problems like you?? If it does turn out to be celiac...you might want to have your parents and any siblings tested because they too could have the disease and not know it or could be a carrier for the disease. Apparently celiac disease is very hard to diagnos and most doctors are not that familiar with it.

Makes me glad for my doctor though. Almost two years ago, I started having some really bad back pains that would come and go around the breast bone. I knew it was something internal because normally ibreproean would have taken care of a normal pain. It was soo bad I could not sleep. Doctor sent me for blood tests and ordered an ultrasound to check my gallbladder. Luckily it was fine, but they determined I had an ulcer and luckily the only treatment is to take prilosec to get rid of the acid. Now when I have one of these attacks, I know how to control it without having to go to the doctor everytime. But they might have sent me to have an ultrasound because I might have mentioned to the doctor thats what my mom thought it was a gallbladder attack...so they ordered the u/s to be sure.

Hope you get some answers and start to feeling better again.

WOW!!! The pain sounds just like when my motehr was having her gall bladder attacks!!! She had her gall bladder out finally (after over a year of misery) and while she recovered we planned our trip to WDW (if you look back at my 2006 TR it is in there). She was afraid to eat because she was put on a NO/low fat diet and if she ate anything fatty or greasy she'd be in the bathroom for long periods after. UGH--BUT she made it through the dining plan and she recovered great .
Hopefully they can give you an answer so you can feel normal again.

 thanks We are still in the healing process. It gets easier each day but we still think about him...

wow, what a story! Glad your gallbladder was okay.

No one has celiac in my family, not even distant relatives. I think I should give more details about the whole "constipation" thing.
I had a car accident that injured my back not long before that happened and I was on vicodin--which could very well be the cause of the constipation. When I went into the hospital it was because I had a blockage in my intestine. So technically not constipation. It could have been the meds? I think it was a bunch of lettuce clogging me up. Sounds funny, but I'm kinda serious when I say that.

I do have some other family members experiencing a lot of the same symptoms as me. And I'm going to tell them to have their gb's tested. My cousin who is pregnant has been dealing with stomach issues for a while (before pregnancy) and she is lactose intolerant. But still could have gb issues.

Did she also get pain in her right shoulder? Lots of folks on my gallbladder thread were saying that, and I haven't gotten that til today. This sucker must really want out of me now!!

Glad to hear that she made it just fine. That gives me hope!

thanks!

Hi Cheri,
Sorry you have been so sick and also sorry to hear about your dog  . I read your trippie but don't always post. But I have to say your symptoms are exactly the same as my best friends. SHe would get so sick and bloated and throw up and just be so sick to her stomach. When she ate the wrong foods it was way worse. She tried not to eat naything greasy or fattening until they removed her gallbladder. She is much better now. DR's absolutely suck and they don't want to believe you might know your own body. My DS is having some issues and I'm to the end of my rope with Dr's  They just have such a matter of fact attitude about everything. I have already changed my kids pediatrician once and seems it didn't help much. Hope you are feeling better soon :goodvibes , keep us posted.

Thankfully I haven't thrown up in a while. That's partially because I hate throwing up so much that when I feel like I have to, I fight it like crazy! I hate, hate, hate it!! I have been feeling really sicky lately and I'm so scared to eat anything! Not to mention after I eat I burp CONSTANTLY. I feel so rude burping all day at work!

Isn't it nuts how so many doctors are like that? Yes, I know you went to school for 8 + years, but I am still a HUMAN BEING, and I am the ONLY ONE that FEELS what is happening in my body. Don't they teach doctor's LISTENING skills?! And what's with thinking people are "too young" to have this, and "too old" to have that? I mean, why do they CATEGORIZE so much?!
