A trip full of surprises.. Good News! 6/16

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day for all you moms out there:flower3: I am waiting for Bryan to load my disposable camera photos onto the computer and then I will get the next installment up!:thumbsup2

I am absolutely loving this so far. How cool to surprise them with friends on the trip, they are soooo cute. I agree with how far the POP bus stop is at MK, I HATE that walk after a long hot day in the parks.
The pirate thing was too cool atMK and that he got chosen, hope we get lucky too. You got a Magical Moment, AWESOME, how fun.
Thanks for the BBB pics, boys heads look cute, it does look wet, how long did it stay? Was it hard to wash out.
You saw Mylie Cyrus, My kids would die:thumbsup2 they love her (o.k. I do too).
Loved that you got a frozen margarita to watch Illuminations I do the same thing every year, nothing like strolling through Epcot drink in hand, I can't wait!

WELCOME ABOARD!:cheer2: Thanks for joining us! I am so upset right now:sad2: I just spend about a 1/2 hour typing up the next installment and my computer froze up and I lost what I had typed:headache: I will have to post it tonight, I have to take Eric to the doctors now! Thanks for your nice comments about the boys. Our BBB appointment was at 4:30 I wished we had done it earlier in the day so that they would have it longer but they loved it anyway. I washed their hair and rinsed twice and it come out with no problem. Matthew's fairy godmother used less gel overall than Eric's so his dried faster but both were dry in about 1/2 hour. I was hoping for an official dream:cloud9: but the magical moment was great too! It's funny because I chose our viewing spot for illuminations based on your TR from last years trip!:rotfl: My kids thought it was neat to see Mylie but I was definitely more excited then they were! Thanks for reading and I will post more tonight after t-ball!:thumbsup2

Thanks Daisy!:welcome: The boys really did enjoy all the attention they got! I wish they had a boys character meal such as Pirates or Peter Pan or even Toy Story?:confused3 They definitely have more things geared for the girls. Thanks for joining us!:thumbsup2

I agree that Disney does need to have a character meal geared towards boys. It is actually surprising that there isn't a POTC themed one already. I know that would be really popular with boys!pirate:

Great trip report! I am enjoying reading it and looking forward to more! Thanks for posting the BBB pictures. It was fun to see!

Day 4 Albatross Pirate Cruisepirate:

Our wake up call came at 7:45. The boys were sooo excited about the cruise they were barely tolerable! So Bryan called for a cab to meet us out in front of POP at 8:45, the boys needed to be at the Bayside marina in front of the Yacht Club @ 9:15. We all got ready and I packed our back for Blizzard Beach because we were going to head there right after the cruise.:thumbsup2 I have to apologize in advance for the quality of the pictures because they were taken with a disposable camera as we didn't want to ruin our digital one. We refilled our mugs with coffee on our way out front to meet the cab. The cab ride only cost $8 w/ tip I was surprised.:yay:

we arrive at the Yacht club marina at 9 and wait to check in. At 9:15 they open the window and we checked the boys in. We had to sign a waiver in case something happened:eek: and then they gave us a pager in case of an emergency. They gave the boys each a life jacket and pirate bandana.

AARGH!pirate:

Then they were told to line up with all the other pirate chasers. There were 12 all together with 2 CM's.

Here is a picture of the boat they went on.

The CM's gave them a few instructions and off they went...

004_22A.jpg

So they left and Bryan and I looked at each other like DUH what should we do:confused3 Weird to be in Disney alone without the kids! That didn't last long though:rotfl: We decided to grab some coffee and walk around the Epcot Resort area. As we crossed the bridge from the Yacht Club to the Boardwalk the kids boat passed underneath and we could hear them screaming AARGH! @ all the passing boats it was too cute! Bryan and I really fell in love with this resort area. It seems so convenient being able to walk to both Epcot and MGM or take the boat. Next time if finances allow we would like to try and stay here.

Our 2 hours were just about up so we headed back to the marina just in time to see a CM dressed as a pirate hop into a boat and go chasing the boat our kids were in. We could hear the kids screaming at the CM driving their boat to "GET HIM" , "DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY" and it ended with them chasing him right back to the dock! Here is a pic. of the kids running up the dock to where all the parents were waiting.

The boys came over to us freaking out about how much fun it was. I was so happy that they had such an incredible time. They actually talked about it for days. Matthew said that they were paired up and the object was to go to several places to find pieces of the treasure map and each pair got a turn to search for the pieces and then help piece the map together. They were so excited because they got to go to Mexico and Canada in the World Showcase and Matthew said "Mom, it was so cool because no one else was there." Once they found all the pieces they went and found the treasure. They each got to fill a bag with "booty". He said then they docked the boat and got to eat lunch. They had peanut butter and jelly uncrustables, juice boxes and cookies. When they finished lunch that is when they went searching for the pirate. After they docked they each got certificates saying that they were official pirate chaserspirate:

They really loved it. Bryan and I also thought it was great just to have a little time to ourselves;) .

We then went out to the Yacht Club bus stop to catch a bus to Blizzard beach!

Continued in the next post..........

We waited about 10 minutes for a bus to Blizzard Beach and then we were on our way. We were excited to try a Disney Waterpark as we had never been before. When we first walked in I was completely overwhelmed at how crowded it seemed. It just seemed like people were practically laying on top of one another. Once we found a spot for our things we headed for teamboat springs. Let me tell you the amount of steps you have to climb to get to the top of this place is insane:scared1: 90-100 at least! Bryan and I got to the top and said OK boys enjoy it because were only doing this once:rotfl: The wait time was posted as 20 minutes but in true Disney fashion it was more like 10. Thank goodness because it took that long just for us to catch our breath.:rotfl2: This ride is incredible:yay: we absolutely loved it! The whole family can sit in the raft together and it really is quite long! The boys of course wanted to go again so we said OK! We got to the top of the stairs and rode again htis time with no wait. We didn't catch our breath this time! At the bottom we decided to go over to this other ride called Run Off Rapids. You can choose to go 2 people or single. Bryan and I each doubled up with the boys. Eric and I rode together and Matthew and Bryan. Eric is 5 but only weighs about 37lbs he sits in front of me but not with his little tush in the hole, he decides to sit on the part that seperates his seat from mine. He HATES to go under water. Well you can guess what happened next.... we get to the bottom and because all the weight is in the back we flipped over backwards:rotfl: I was hysterical laughing because I am trying to hold onto Eric and the tube and my bathing suit top all at the same time:scared1: Not an easy task! Eric was so upset and kept saying I dunked him on purpose:sad2: poor kid! I felt bad but it really was quite funny! After this episode we decided to eat. The boys ate lunch on their cruise so they just had a snack. Mickey Mouse head ice cream! Their favorite! After lunch the ski lift to the top only had a 5 minute wait so we hopped on and rode Teamboat Springs again! Then Matthew and Bryan went over to the Tobogan Racers which are 8 slides lined up next to each other and you can race down. They loved it. Eric and I went over to the wave pool while they did this. When they came over and found us I went over and raced with Matthew. I loved it. I felt like such a little kid. I was really trying to win! After 2 times we met back up with Bryan and Eric and decided to call it a day. We packed up and headed out. I wanted to get some rest and freshen up before our dinner at BOMA. Here are the boys wrapped in their towels, it only took us 15 minutes to find our stuff:rolleyes:

Coming up...... BOMA=INCREDIBLE!:cloud9:

I loved your water park post. A friend and I took a girls only week to Disney leaving the kids and husbands at home. We rode one of the double tube water slides at Typhoon Lagoon. As we came out of the bottom of the slide, the tube hit the water and my friend in the back of the tube said I looked like a human cannon ball. I just remember flying through the air for what seemed like forever before I came back down and hit the water. Once we recovered from the shock, we were both laughing so hard we could not walk to go again! The water parks can be a lot of fun. I am glad your boys enjoyed it! pirate:

Wow, you got busy with the posting while I was gone! I'm caught up now and really enjoying it. The pics are great and the boys are having such fun. I love that they smile so great for pictures. My DGS is at the stage of making faces or smirking, so it is hard to get a natural looking smile from him! :rotfl: And by the way, we got hit with the gusher of water at Splash on our first day. That was a shock! I was on the right side and got the worst of it. And we were just about to go to our dinner at 1900 Park Fare! I literally wrung the water out of my clothes and hair. It took two days for my jean capris to dry! The next time we rode it DD and I wore ponchos and covered DGD with one!!:rotfl2: And there is nothing better with Illuminations than a margarita and a little relaxing! :thumbsup2 Great posts!

You are the 3rd person now that I have read about getting soaked on Splash in that exact spot! I am sorry you all got so wet right before dinner! They definitely must have tweaked the timing:confused3 Margaritas are a must at night!:thumbsup2

Conclusion of Day 4...... BOMA=INCREDIBLE!

We had reservations at BOMA for 7:10. We wanted to arrive early because I read on the DIS that the check in process is long. We also wanted to check out the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the grounds. We caught a bus from POP to the Animal Kingdom around 5:20. We got to the Animal Kingdom and got in line for the AKL. Abus came rather quickly and by 6:00 we were at the AKL. It is a little strange when you walk in because the lobby is HUGE here is the only picture I have of it

IMG_1239.jpg

My first impression of the AKL wasn't that great it seemed so chaotic and just way to big to get oriented. When you enter, you are on the 3rd floor (I think) then you have to go down the stairs to BOMA. The atmosphere down here is wonderful , noisy, but wonderful. We tried to check in early but were told we couldn't so we sat for a few minutes. Here are the boys and I waiting...........

IMG_1244.jpg

Notice the pirate theme continued from this morning into the evening! Both boys are wearing t-shirts we bought them the day before at the World of Disney in DTD!

The boys by some statues.........

After a few minutes we decided to walk around the resort a little bit. So we wondered outside to the area called Victoria Falls and took these pictures...

The boys being silly!

IMG_1242.jpg

This is my favorite picture of the trip! You can't see it but there was an animal right below the fence and they held hands because the were afraid!:goodvibes

IMG_1245.jpg

Then we walk out a little further and Bryan says "the battery for the camera died":scared1: Are you kidding me? I was sooo excited to take tons of pictures on this night and it was not gonna happen!

We did walk around and I have to say this resort is BEAUTIFUL! Everything seems so peaceful and being able to see the animals so close up was incredible! Finally we go inside and check in and are seated within 10 minutes!:thumbsup2

This was by far our favorite restaurant of the entire trip! The service was tremendous although it was a buffet. The atmosphere and the willingness of the waiters to explain each of the dishes was just excellent! The decor is beautiful too! You'll have to take my word for it because as you know we had NO camera at this point:sad2: . The food was absolutely incredible!:cheer2: I was so nervous that it would be weird but it was awesome! I had some african herb spiced chicken that was great. I had coconut curried soup, sounds yucky but was delicious. We had falafels that were to die for, the were covered in this creamy yogurt tasting sauce. We tried different kinds of salads that were all yummy too! Bryan loved the wood cooked meats! They had tons of different breads with hummus that was also very yummy. They had chocolate mousse that had some alcohol in it that was insanely good! But the absolute best thing died and went to heaven were ZEBRA DOMES I had 8! They too have alcohol in them but the taste isn't as strong with them as it was with the mousse. The Domes have like a peanut butter/chocolate taste they were AMAZING!:cloud9: We stuffed our faces and so did the boys!:rotfl: We just loved everything about it and it was such a terrific way to end such a fun and magical day!:wizard:

Coming up a crazy day at Epcot....... Bryan, where are the kids?

I love the picture of your boys holding hands. So precious! My youngest ds has that same t shirt we bought it last Sept and he still wants to wear it everyday!

I loved the latest update. We ate their last August and arrived after dark. I think I also ate just as many zebra domes as you did. They are so good. I am looking forward to them again this September! I took some pictures that I am adding here. If you would like any of the originals to add to your photo album or scrapbook, I would be glad to email them to you.

I am not sure how to post them here. I added them to the photo section above and here are the direct links:

You guys look like you had such a great trip. The pirate cruise sounds like fun and the boys looked so excited after. I am glad that you enjoyed Boma...I really enjoy it there and don't find it too exotic. Although I like the Zebra Domes I think the chocolate mousse wins!!! SO YUMMY!!!

Can't wait to read about EPCOT.

Great update! It looks like your boys had a blast doing the Pirate cruise.:thumbsup2
Boma sounds so yummy! I would like to try that place the next time we go!

Absolutely LOVING your report. Glad the pirate cruise was a hit, I think we'll wait a few years based on the ages of the kids in the boats and the activities you described, I think I could let both of them go in a year or two. Glad you liked AK, I considered Boma for our trip but it was so out of the way to get to I decided not to, now you have me kicking myself. I want to go there so DH will fall in love with it and let us stay there ;) . Love the pics and the report. SUCH a cute pic of the boys holding hands, it would be my favorite too! Thanks for sharing, can't wait for more!
