A trip full of surprises.. Good News! 6/16

I put the card in the little slot and my bag on top and start pushing then Matthew yells "Mommy, where's Eric?"

:scared1: Oh, my gosh, that just scares the heck out of you, doesn't it? I'm so glad you found him right away! Poor baby.

Well, after about 3 minutes of waiting we hear an eruption of cheering:eek: OH NO, we missed them again:sad2: The people that were in the room right before us got DREAM FASTPASSES:rolleyes:

Oh, man! You were THISCLOSE! Rats! I was rooting for you. ;)

After the ride we FP Soarin again and then go ride it.

Totally cool pictures of Soarin'! (I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this myself!) :lmao:

The "Beverly" was out of order during our last trip so no one but me knew how gross it was so I filled up 3 glasses and gave it to my 3 boys at the same time:rotfl: :lmao: It was sooo funny watching there faces and I just could not stop laughing, I really needed this laugh after our scary morning!

:lmao: One year, dd handed dh a cup of Beverly and said, "Try this. It tastes like feet." :rotfl2: Wow, what a glowing recommendation! Bless his heart, dh DID try it and agreed with her analysis. How's that for an advertising slogan, "Beverly--tastes like feet!"

After we were done here we headed to the Seas to ride the Nemo ride. The line was 40 minutes long! So we skipped it and decided to come back later! Then we headed over to the Sunshine Seasons in the Land for lunch!

:scared1: 40 minutes? Wow, it was a walk-on in the evening when we went! I hope the boys got to try it later because it IS cute.

Sunshine Seasons? I'm hoping you tried the butterfinger cheesecake! :lmao:

Will our afternoon get better:confused3

I'm voting for YES! :thumbsup2

Great update!
I hope you all got to ride the Nemo ride! We loved it...it was a walk on the everytime we went to get in line. I am surprised that the wait was 40 min!

I cannot wait to read what happens next! popcorn:: I hope your day got better!

What a scary start to your day!! You can get separated in a split second at the parks. So glad you got back together so quickly.

We never even SAW the dream team while we were there, so didn't come close only to miss out. I think it is worse to just barely miss it, because we didn't get disappointed. :sad1:

Just found this trip report...great job!! How lucky you got to be family of the hour and Animal Kingdom! I would love to have something special happen like that, but I'm not that lucky (plus I think I'm too old  ). Your boys are adorable!

I can honestly say that was THE SCARIEST minute or 2 of my life!:scared1:

Day 5 Epcot continued.............

So we make our way to the Sunshine Seasons over in the Land pavilion for lunch. This restaurant is outstanding. It was such a great value. The amount of food you get is incredible and it was delicious! Bryan and I had the rotisserie chicken meal with mashed potatoes and veggies and key lime pie for dessert which was yummy! After dessert the boys and I lined up for the Jr. Chef program where the kids get to make cookies and Bryan ran to get FP's for Test Track. We got in line right @ noon and the program started at 12:15. Of course after about 5 minutes of waiting Eric says "I have to go to the bathroom" Thank goodness a very nice family we had been talking with said "go ahead will let you get right back in line with us." I said thank you very much and off we went! On our way back the Land had gotten VERY CROWDED so I grabbed both boys hands and walked back over to the Jr. Chef area and we got back in line. This program is sooo cute, there are about 12 children and they get to help in the cookie baking process. Here are a few pics.....

IMG_1260.jpg

They gave each of the children chef hats, here are Matthew and Eric wearing their's....

IMG_1261.jpg

Then they take the children in and behind the counter and give them wipes to clean their hands and then they pass out all the ingredients.

IMG_1262.jpg

Then each child took a turn placing ingredients into the mixture. They all cooperated really well and the CM's were so cute with the kids.....

IMG_1263.jpg

IMG_1264.jpg

IMG_1265.jpg

This one particular CM paid particular attention to Matthew and Eric and did this to Matthew........

IMG_1266.jpg

Then she gave Eric an egg to crack! I'm thinking Salmonella, HELLO! so Eric starts hitting the egg gently and I am holding my breath. The egg is just not cracking so the CM says hit it harder. Are you crazy? So Eric starts banging it harder and harder his face is getting red and he's really concentrating. He looks up and says this egg is tough! That's when I realize it was a fake egg!:rotfl2: Thank goodness! Here is Eric with the fake egg!

IMG_1268.jpg

Then they take turns dropping the dough on the cookie sheet.....

IMG_1270.jpg

IMG_1271.jpg

Then it gets put into the magic oven and then the bell rings and perfectly shaped cookies come out! Each child gets 2 cookies! Here is Eric with his...........

IMG_1272.jpg

That was it! Of course the boys wouldn't share with Bryan and I! The boys loved doing this and it really was adorable to watch! Besides it was FREE!:yay:

After Jr. Chef we went over to the Disney Visa character meet and greet and got some more pictures...

IMG_1274.jpg

IMG_1275.jpg

After our character meet and greet we went to the Figment ride. I'm sure most of you know this but when you come off the ride there is a big area of things to explore well, when we first got in there I had to get something out of my bag so I told Bryan I would catch up to them. In the mean time Bryan kept walking and the boys went over to one of the picture maker things(unbeknownst to me). I got my wipes out of my bag and then continued to walk outside. Bryan says "where are the boys, aren't they with you?" I said no, they ran ahead with you!:scared1: So we run back inside and they were in the picture maker fooling around and never realized we walked outside with out them! We really aren't bad parents and usually I am soooo overprotective in public places but it was just a lack of communication!:headache: Needless to say I really felt like I was going to have a breakdown! Too much drama for 1 day!:rotfl: So after Figment we head over to use our test track FP's. On our way over we notice that the Sea's ride is down to 20 minutes so we get in line.

IMG_1280.jpg

I thought the ride was cute but I'm glad we didn't wait 40 mins. for it because it wasn't that good! I loved the clam mobiles though I thought they were adorable! after the ride we walked around a bit........

IMG_1292.jpg

IMG_1284.jpg

IMG_1283.jpg

Then we headed over to Test Track to use our FP's.

continued in the next post!

Day 5 continued...........

So we head over to Test Track and we ride! Eric LOVES this ride and our picture is always so funny because you can never see his head because he just isn't tall enough! After the ride the boys run a little ahead of us because they love the car display at the rides exit and this is where we find them........

IMG_1247.jpg

I knew Bryan was right behind them but my knee was really starting to bother me again so I didn't follow along as fast so when I got down to where they were and didn't see them right away I freaked out and started crying and told Bryan that we probably don't deserve to be parents:sad2: He quickly told me that he knew where they were and had been watching them the whole time and that they were as lucky to have us as parents as we were blessed to have them as children!

But by this point in the day the pic. below really describes how Bryan and I felt!

IMG_1279.jpg

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We all needed a little rest by this point so we went on Ellen's energy adventure and regruoped!:grouphug:

After that Bryan and Matthew went on Mission space again and Eric and I rode Test Track again with only a 15 minute wait!:woohoo:

When we met back up it was just about time for our ADR at the Coral Reef! We went and checked in and were seated about 15 minutes later! We had excellent seats. Abooth right down on the floor facing the tanks! The pictures aren't the best but this was our view.........

IMG_1303.jpg

Here are pictures of us with the kids at the table.

IMG_1301.jpg

IMG_1302.jpg

Our dinner was very good. This was the most expensive meal of the trip at $194 for the 4 of us. We were on the dining plan thank goodness but I really didn't think the meal matched that price. The atmosphere was wonderful but the service was extremely slow. Our ADR was for 5:40 and we didn't walk out until around 7:30. It doesn't sound long but after a long, stressful day it sure felt like it. When we finished we decided to call it a day and head back to POP! Here is a pic. we took on our way out!

IMG_1308.jpg

All in all a good day and the kids had a blast at Jr. Chef and on the rides. So it was a great day but just a little nerve racking at times!

Oh yeah and just to make sure the day ended how it started, after we got back to POP Bryan went to fill our mugs with frozen coke but the machines were both broken!:sad2: :rotfl:

Time for bed!

Coming up next MGM!:woohoo:

Day 5 Epcot continued.............

I bet your heart dropped so fast when you couldn't find Eric and the poor little guy must have been so scared. It is really hard to keep track of everyone when you are in a large crowd, especially when the little ones can't see above everyone else. You and your DH sound like great parents...and you kids are lucky they have you. Plus you are lucky you have children that don't just take off.

I love the picture above of Eric he looks like he is concentrating so hard!!! Sounds like another great day in Disney! Can't wait to see how MGM was!!!

Wow. EPCOT should not be that stressful...

Thanks for the great info on the Jr. Chef program - I didn't even realize that I didn't fully understand what they did - I love the magic oven!!! We'll have to get Brook-ee to do this in September!

Your DS's look so sweet in their chef hats and so funny about the fake egg :rotfl2: You're so not bad parents sounds like you're wonderful :goodvibes

Thanks Figment for making me feel better:flower3: That day was just crazy! It's funny because my kids don't ever just take off that is what made the whole thing just so strange!:upsidedow

I agree Epcot should not be that stressful! You should def. try the Jr. Chef it was adorable!:)

Thanks so much Disney Jo! Once I got over the salmonella scare I was able to laugh about the egg too! Thanks for the positive parenting comment. Lord knows I need some reassuring!:rotfl:

Your pictures were great! :yay: We really wanted to do the Jr. Chef's program but just couldn't work it in. We will definitely do it next time, since your review was so good. Our Coral Reef meal was the same, about 2 hours. It was a chance to relax, but when you are trying to get to a lot of things in one day it may be more stressful than relaxing. DD and I have decided to try a different strategy if we get the dining plan in the future so we don't "waste" so much of our time eating. I think we will do some two credit meals, some of the good buffets, and divide up more counter service ones and snacks to take up the slack. I really do like Coral Reef though, and it wasn't much slower than the other table service restaurants we tried. Sorry about all the nerve-wracking incidents in one day. Hope the rest of the stay was less stressful! :dance3:

I just found your trip report and am LOVING it! We leave for DW in a little less than two weeks and we're so excited. I have been debating over going to Blizzard Beach but after reading your TR, I think we might just have to do it! I am also stressing about losing my kids. My 5 year old is quite adventurous and I'm worried he'll try to take off without mom or dad in tow!

What an adventure for you. I have lost my kids a time or two, Reese liked to hide inside the clothing racks when she was little, I would be on hands and knees searching all of them for her tiny feet.

The boys looked like they were having a blast making cookies, the fake egg was funny, I could just picture what was going through your mind each time Eric hit the egg.

I really liked Coral Reef, but looking back, yeah, it did seem to take a long time to get out of there.

Loved the update and as always I can't wait for more.

Jr. Chef really was so cute. It was great how the kids interacted with one another and the CM's. Yes the rest of our stay was great! The day at Epcot wasn't a total bust though we did have fun!

I am so jealous you still have your trip to look forward to! We loved Blizzard Beach and I would recommend it to anyone! Have a GREAT TRIP!:thumbsup2
