I'd like to think of something special to do in Orlando for our wedding aniversary, but I'm stumpted. We'll have our two year old with us, so a facy restaurat is out of the question.Any fab ideas? :goodvibes

They have a babysitting service at POFQ I think, you could use them and then do something by yourselves. How about a couples massage, hot air balloon trip, carriage ride, can't think of anything else sorry!

If, like us, you want to do something and include your little one then how about a meal at Boma - a fantastic 'grown up' restaurant which also does a whole kids buffet. Order a cake maybe or just try a wine or beer flight. We went to AK to see their afternoon parade first then caught a bus to AKL to eat at Boma and later took a bus from Boma to see the evening parade and fireworks at MK. Lovely and the whole family could share it.

I am also looking for an idea to spoil the family on our next trip, so I will be watching this thread with interest.

What about a carriage ride around WL one evening. You could combine this with watching the Electrical Water Pageant and maybe Wishes (from afar).

Or ( I just thought of this as I pressed enter on the previous reply!!) what about a photo shoot at GF, Poly or SSR. I think they only cost $25 as an add on if you pre-pay for your photopass before you leave. This would be a lasting reminder of the trip and your anniversary - you could have some photos of the whole family and some of just you and DH.

Hi Verity, you know that my DH's treat was a meal at Jiko with a Fairy Godmother sitter to look after the kids. Andy really enjoyed our evening out and the sitter was perfect. How about a night at the Poly for you and Simon? Why not book Evie into the kids club and then have a lovely time at Ohanas follwed by a romantic stroll along the beach and a cocktail while you watch Wishes. I hope you gets lots of nice ideas from people here.

If he's a big kid at heart (like my DF!) you could order him a gift basket - I ordered one for my DF from Feralpeg in 2006 and he loved it :D

I filled it with his favourite Disney snacks, chocolate bars and various other bits and pieces!

what about the family magic tour

Family Magic Tour: A fun filled scavenger hunt at the Magic Kingdom that the entire family can enjoy. You’ll follow clues in pursuit of a Disney villain to thwart his evil plan. Lots of fun surprises and character interaction are in store as your detective skills save the park from dastardly deeds.

Dont think you can use the baby sitting services for a child that young? How about doing something special in the day, have lunch at the Rainforest cafe, relax and play in the pool. Champagne and room service after the baba goes to sleep!

I'm also watching this to gain some ideas...our 8th wedding anniversary is December 23rd, the day we'll be driving from Miami to Orlando. I was thinking about maybe stopping somewhere en route to have a special couple of hours, but not sure where....
Failing that, I reckon we'll probably have a nice family meal when we arrive. I'm sure I'll buy him something when we are shopping the day before at Sawgrass Mills.

I have a birthday treat of a swim with the sharks at Seaworld from my DW.

I think her intentions are honourable.... :)

Make sure you mention your anniversary when you check-in at your resort and, if you do decide to celebrate at a restaurant, do the same there. You can also arrange a celebration cake by calling the restaurant itself ahead of time. When we did this, I think the cost was $16.

'Ohana had never appealed to me despite its popularity, but we ended up there for a dual birthday celebration in October 2006. Whilst it couldn't be described as romantic in the traditional sense, it does have a lovely vibe and it's certainly family oriented. You could try for a window seat to view Wishes, or (even better in my view), time dinner so that you can stroll down to the Poly beach afterwards to catch both the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes.

Here is a photo of the two birthday girls and their celebration cake.

These two show our window location - it was right in the corner which I imagine is a pretty prized position, but as far as I remember, we were just assigned that table without asking.

It got dark as we dined which was nice.

Our American friend, Susan (SusanEllen on the DIS and the lady in the birthday photo) bought the leis and we all dressed up in our best Hawaiian/Polynesian garb.
