Here is one scenario that of course has come up and I have no answer for.
I already know that banked points cannot be transferred.

Example: Can a member receive a transfer of 08 points then BANK them into 09 use year IF the points are still WITHIN both member owners banking window ( 100%).

I am guessing that only "one" banking transaction per member per use year is allowed. Regardless.
So, lets say the member receiving the transfer has already banked their own 08 points to 09. This would be a second banking for transferred points
I have GS stumped...
Anyone have a guess??? :teacher:
Its looking like renting is a whole lot easier than transfers.
I am going to suggest a paragraph be included in points book to clarify the process to members.

Yes, transferred points can be banked. The only limit to banking is that there be bankable points.

Just to cextra clear, there is not limit to the number of times you can bank within your banking window.

IF a member transfers me points and their UY is different than mine, whose banking window--the window of the transferred points, or the window of the member who received the transfer.

ie: I have an October UY. If I get June UY points transferred into my account, would they follow the June banking or October banking rules. And, am I correct that transferred points retain their home resort booking requirements?

If you are transferred points you can bank only if you are within the banking window of the person who transferred to you. The points retain their own stripes and thus you go by the transferor's use year, not yours.

And just to expand a little more ...

op, 1 transfer per Use Year refers only to the transfer itself; you are allowed to either receive a transfer "in" to your account of points from a member or
transfer "out" your current UY points to a member but not both
per Use Year.

As pp here stated banking points transferred "in" is subject to the banking deadline of those points but MS has occasionally been known to allow transferred points to be banked that are already beyond their banking deadline ( this is not guaranteed by has been the experience of some posters here from time to time ). Your own points are still bankable during the same Use Year if you are still within your banking window.

Also, if you do bank points that are transferred to you those points still keep their Home Resort status; banking them would not change them over to what your Home Resort is.

:goodvibes

I have personally had points transferred IN and then banked those points into the next year. I was lucky, they were same UY and Home as my own, so I didn't have to keep anything straight.
