If they are otherwise bankable points, yes.MichelleB said:I know I can only allow pts. to go one direction per yr (either in or out of the account), but can I bank the leftovers if I've transferred some pts. to another member in the same year?
The OP is asking about once they have transferred points to another person. Your scenario is far more complicated. There are suggestions that one might be able to bank all transferred points regardless of timing, at least until the 2 month window. And so so independently of what you might have already banked. That one deserves some more personal experiences to know for certain.MrShiny said:Yes, i just askled about this actually. So say someone had August 2005 points that they transfer into your account. You could bank those then until 1/31/2006. Then they would go into the next use year, and so be available until 8/2007.
Now you'd have to make sure Member Services got it correct, because this is a manual process for them.
And don't forget that previously banked or borrowed points cannot be transferred at all.

Yes, that is correct. You are not allowed to transfer banked points.browniemtb said:So let me get this straight....If I bank 2005 UY points I can not tranfer them to an owner in the 2006 UY? I would use my banked points and would be able to transfer current UY points only?

Transfered points can be banked, but banked points cannot be transfered.
Best wishes -
Bill that is not my understanding. I have been told that transferred points can be banked but not borrowed.Caskbill said:Also, transfered points may be borrowed, but borrowed points cannot be transferred.

Found it in the POS which states that banked points cannot be borrowed. And that if banked, it specifically states they expire at the end of the receiving members use year.greenban said:Bill, I was under your impression until this week. Someone transferred me their 2006 BCV points to my BCV 2006 UY sub account, and I can not borrow them into my 2005 (Dec) UY. I have tried with three seperate MS consultants, and non-of-them could borrow. So I believe that Dean is correct, in that Transferred points can be Banked but not borrowed.

Transferring is where you transfer the points themselves to another member, which you would not be able to do with banked points. You could rent them, use them or make a reservation to deposit with II. If they are 2005 points banked to 2006, you have quite a while to use them. If they are points banked to 2005 use year, they will expire in less than 2 months significantly limiting their use.shantay1008 said:What's the difference between transferring and renting points? I have 68 March 2005 points that I banked and will not be able to use.
