Ok, so when I left off, we had just crossed into Florida & Shelby was screaming & crying. By this time it was 11 pm. I had lost my 3G in Mississippi & finally got it back once we were into Alabama. I felt so lost without my phone!!! About 45 mins into Florida, Shelby went to sleep. All I could say was "Thank you God!" Only to hear screaming 15 mins later! I kept praying "Please God, let my baby fall asleep, please!" Her eyes were so heavy & she just was not giving it up! At about 1:30 am, silence!
At around 2 am, we got into the Eastern Time Zone & I have never been more happy to have a time change! I was sooooo ready to be at Disney!!! About 45 mins later, Shelby dozed back off. And I was praying that this time it was for good! I should have known better, 35 mins later, screams again. We tried the dvd player, snacks, juice, milk, you name it. So I told Ben as soon as we came across another rest area, I needed to potty & Shelby could probably use a diaper change. So at 4 am, we stop at a rest area. I go potty & Ben digs out the Benadryl, hoping that it would kick in & help her sleep the rest of the drive, & the diapers & wipes. I get back from using the potty & I realize, she is burning up with fever!!!! No wonder why she has been screaming. I felt like the world's worst mommy! I never even thought to check to see if she had fever & I know her molars are coming in. So along with the Benadryl, she got Tylenol. After she was all "doped up" we hit I-75 & I started to get excited! So close, yet so far away! And what do we get? Rain!!! Again, I started praying for the rain to stay right where it was & not to follow us to Disney! About 4:30 thanks to her screams, Koby & Brady woke up & I decided I was starving! So we hit up McDonalds for some breakfast (it was 5:30 am FL time). I was hoping that maybe some food would chill her out & bring back my happy baby girl. No such luck. Her brothers were wonderful with her, trying anything & everything to make her happy & stop crying. Shared their toys, snacks, you name it! At 6 am we got on the Orlando Turnpike & I was bouncing in my seat. (I had no idea how far away I really was!) Then I see the 1st sign, which I did not get a pic of, but it said Disney World 25 miles. Let's just say that is the longest 25 miles of my life!!!
Some of the road signs:
And at 6:41 (7:41 EST) I saw the most beautiful thing in the whole entire world (besides my kids
)
Now those of you who have read my PTR, know how worried I was about not seeing that sign. Let's just say, when we made that curve & I saw it. I was screaming hysterically, crying, yelling, snapping pics. Ben & the boys thought I was crazy! Now, I don't remember what I said, but I was told I said "WE ARE HERE! OH MY GOD WE ARE HERE! I AM AT DISNEY WORLD! WE ARE REALLY HERE! IT'S THE SIGN! PRINCESS, MAMA BROUGHT YOU TO DISNEY WORLD BABY GIRL!" Like I said, no recollection of that at all.
