A TR and PTR to help cool a Disneyland fever

Hey there everyone! I am new to posting here, but have been a long time lurker. I have decided it is about time I share in some of the fun I have had as well!

I have gotten bit by the fabulously magical Disney bug again! My self remedy to the prognosis has always been 3-4 days in Disneyland taken at least once yearly. Unfortunately, my planned Disney fix which would have been 2 weeks away has fallen through. The thing called Life reared its ugly head and decided to deny me my Disneyland! :( While that definitely stinks like a codfish, all is not lost. It just means that I have to push the trip back to next year. Although, I might be able to sneak it in earlier in the year rather than later....possibly. However, this does nothing for my Disney fever.

To help bring subside the longing I have taken up lurking here in the TR forums to live through all of you. I have a bigger case of Disney fever than previously feared and this has not been enough. I have decided to remedy this by making my own PTR, mixed in with a TR of my trip to DL last year.

To set the scene, here is the cast:

Me: A 26 year old Disney fanatic. I have pixie dust flowing through my veins, instead of blood.

My DSis: A 13 year old Disney fanatic. She too has pixie dust in her veins.

Our Disney trips are our sister bonding time, just the two of us, just the girls. You see, I was the youngest of 3 until DSis came along. Yes, there are 13 years between us. My two older sisters and I are really close in age, but DSis is pretty much an only child, with out two older sisters married and their own families and myself no longer living at home. Since she loves Disney as much as I do, I decided to have a yearly trip with her to DL, something the two of us could share and bond over. We always drive to Anaheim, since it is only about a 10 hour drive and much cheaper than flying...for now at least.

We are lucky enough to have a cousin who works for ESPN and she is usually able to give us a PH or two for our trip. That definitely helps with the $$$, since I am the one taking the brunt of the costs. (The economy has hit my parents hard and they can't really help out too much with the trips, which I don't mind at all.)

Now before I get into the TR from last year, I want to share a dilemma that I have found myself in. As I have previously stated, these trips are reserved for just DSis and I. Well, a few months ago we were at a family reunion out east in NC. We have a cousin who is 13 as well and she has only been to WDW because it is closer to Chicago than DL. She had a great time and she has always wanted to go to DL. Well, while at the airport to come back home from the reunion, we were hanging out with her family because our flights were scheduled to leave around the same time. I don't know how it happened but she came up to me after talking with DSis and said she would like to come to DL with us. Somewhere while talking with DSis she had ended up getting invited, though DSis swears up and down that she did not invite our cousin.

While, normally I wouldn't have any issues bring our cousin along on the trip, I just foresee it as a disaster waiting to happen. DSis is very particular about things and when to do them and how to do them. Being her sister, I am able to handle that and talk with her and I am very laid back so usually while at DL, I let her take control over what we do except the few times there is something I really want to do. Well, our cousin has a strong personality and while DSis and our cousin like each other for there are a lot of times they don't get along real well the few times they actually see each other.

Now I don't know what to do, because while I let our cousin know we aren't actually going to DL next month, she still wants to come next year. I really don't want to hurt her feelings, but I really REALLY do not want two teenage girls that both have strong personalities with me and no other adult around. Besides I really like the fact that it is a thing my DSis and I do together. As well, our cousin has never been to California and I know she wants to do other things besides DL while there. DSis has been to California a few times already aside from going to DL...I lived there for a year and a half, so I don't really have a desire of checking other things out. I just don't know what to do. I guess it is a good thing I have a long time to figure out a solution. :confused3:

Okay, enough rambling! My next post will be all about last year...plus pictures!

I would talk to your cousin's parents an say how you wouldn't be comfortable being responsible for her in addition to your sister.
