A totally dumb scrapbooking question!!

I've been scrapping the traditional way for several years now. Here's what I don't understand: How to do digital scrapbooking! Go ahead and laugh!

I am good with computers... I'm guessing there is software that gives you templates and you zap your photos into them? Do you then print everything right onto scrapbook paper? Wouldn't you need a really fancy printer?

Help!

You can do just that, on an ordinary printer if you scrapbook 8 1/2 x 11. If you want it to be 12 x 12 then you'd need one of the wide printers. If you'd like to try it out, various printer sites like hp have free templates you can try.

While there are templates you can use, most digital scrapbookers download kits. Kits contain all the traditional elements a scrapbooker uses: paper, alphabet, ribbons, stitching, buttons, eyelets, flowers, etc. Any kind of product you can buy for paper scrapping, you can also buy the equivalent digitally. And there are thousands of free kits out there. To use the kits you need some type of software like Photoshop Elements 3 or DIP. There are other popular programs as well. One of my favorite sites for freebies is shabbyprincess.com

Here's an example of a free kit from that site. It's called Shabby Tea Party

I'm not affiliated in any way with that site - but it was the first one I visited that got me hooked on digiscrapping!

I didn't even know you could do digital scrapbooking or even what it was until I saw this message. Needless to say I spent all last night reading about it and downloading a bunch of freebies. I even made a new tag for my auctions see below. I had a lot of fun and even my husband helped with the software program that I had never used before. I am definately going to be spending more time doing this.
