What would happen if you went into a restaraunt in your area and ordered french fries with gravy?

This is one of my favorite things to get at this restaraunt/hotel near here, but people tell me it's totally a PA Dutch thing.

Ever had it?

I often think that fries are not fattening enough - nothing like a little boost

I know alot of people that like their ff with gravy... I've never tried it myself. I prefer cheese, sour cream and perhaps some chives Or maybe chili and cheese... But my favorite would be salted right out of the fryer..

Very few diners around here in NJ have it on the menu, and when I see it, I do get it, yummy!

Fries with gravy is a "Wet Murphy Basket" in dinerspeak. I love it!

Every time we go to our favorite deli/diner style place we always order gravy on our fries! They never give us an odd look and once the waitress said that's how she eats them, too. Sometimes we go there just because we want wet fries!! Yummmm!!

My youngest daughter thinks gravy is a food group....espescially country gravy!! and she loves potatoes, but has never tried them together. THE HORROR!!!

Alot of people I know put mayo on their fries...I am one of them...but usually only on Wendy's fries.

What part of NJ are you in? I don't know if I've ever been to a diner where it was NOT on the menu!

That's the main reason I go there to eat - so I can get a hot roast beef sandwich & fries all covered in gravy. Mmmmm.

I was raised in Baltimore and often had gravy on my fires. I thought it was a Baltimore thing. I still order it when I am not counting my Weight Watchers points.
