A Toothy Question??

Could someone help us out on an important matter please?

DD10 lost a tooth a few days ago and a $1 was dutifully left - but this posed a question - was it left by a tooth fairy (as we have in the UK) or by a tooth mouse (which we know our European neighbours have)? Or does the US have something different?? We need to know!!
