chemult oregon...perhaps one of the strangest outpost for the amtrak coast starlight to stop, the only cascade access hiking stop, only mass transist for national travel to centeral oregon....well you could fly indirectly, anyhow...as I recall my many coast starlight tirps, chemult could very well be the least populated city stop on the west coast.

Emeryville, CA first of two stops to access the large frisco area, it also the new transfer point if taking train south to disneyland. Southbound coast starlight was alway late into union station, so they had coach buses waiting for us to take us to arrowhead stadium at 2:00 in the morning. now you change trains at emeryville, ride train to Bakersfield and then catch a coach bust into Union station, missing all of the southbound daylight....You can still catch north bound from Disneyland.

Gilroy, Ca, garlic captial of the US, at this city the Coast Starlight turns west to Monterrey bay for its trip along the pacific ocean, though that is th eonly glimpse...Salinas Valley of east of eden is the next few hours of track travel., then down the grade to the coast

independence oregon pionner history in the name, but now a long forgotton bedroom coummniyt of salem, though it may have the oldest soda marble top fountain on the west coast...nope....largest collection of coke trays by a business and not private collector.
