In need of some assistance:

I have used two different email addresses to register on disney.com as well as have ordered disney DVDs. I have yet to receive a code and have ordered DVDs for the past 4 years.

My ?: what info. do you enter when you register on disney.com regarding number of trips in the past as well as future plans for upcoming trips???

Just wondering what people have entered who are receiving the codes?

Perhaps first timers are more likely to get a code??

Any info/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I received a 20% off code by email about two weeks ago - the same day I received the DVD in the mail. We've been to Disney 5 times, and put that on the survey, along with our (tentative) plan to go back this November. I don't know if that generated the code or not.:confused3

Last year, when the Disney Visa fall discount came out (mid - August?), and I called to book our trip (we went the first week of Nov), the CM told me I had a code on my name then as well. That time I hadn't received an email or postcard, and was surprised. It actually worked out to be a better deal to use the Disney Visa code, but just because of our dates.

I wouldn't hesitate to call and check to see if there's something on your name - it's possible you just didn't get the email/postcard.

Good luck!:wizard:

I received a 40% Pin in January.

I answered all the questions truthfully-- we haven't been to WDW since 1990 and are going in August.

I've never received a code either - just registered and found out about this. Hopefully we get something in the mail since we'd like to go soon.

I'm pretty sure that they give the codes out randomly. If there was a specific combination of factors that triggered a code, then somebody would have figured it out already.

Having said that... I ordered a DVD in January, and received an e-mail pin, I think it was 20%, around the same time I got the DVD. I didn't use it, because I'm not planning on going until next year.

I answered all the questions honestly, well as honestly as possible, the "how many times have you been to Disney?" question always gets me, because we lived in Florida and had resident's passes when I was little, and I really don't know how many times I've been. I know my mom took us there during the day quite often...

Of course for my honeymoon trip I plan on being tricky. I'll order one in my fiance's name to his address with his information (he has NEVER been to Disney...poor deprived child) Another in my name to my address with my information...(NEVER stayed on property...) and possibly a third to my parents' house as I still live there part of the year.
All three with separate e-mail addresses.
I also plan on staggering them...I found out that people started getting codes for the time I want to go (January) around mid-October last year. Unfortunately I'm going at the beginning of the year and it seems that they don't switch over to the next year's codes until rather late in the year, and I don't want to risk getting an amazing code for a time I can't use. I plan on doing more extensive research before I commit to any new DVDs...

It is a totally random thing.Disney says there is a system for determining who gets a disc. but no one has yet to figure it out.I have been going to disney since I was a kid and I have yet to ever get a discount. There are some people here who register under their marrried name ,maiden name, and register their spouses etc. Some have had luck, many others have not. Some have ordered the travel DVD and gotten a code, many others have not. There are also several people on here who have gotten more then one disc. code.It is seriously a crap shoot and totally unpredictable. If you have registered on disneys website and ordered the dvd, that is probably the best thing to do and hope that you are lucky too.

We got a 40% code in Feb. for certain dates this year. It was mailed to my parents house in my husband's name!? Luckily my parents didn't just chuck it because they know I'm a Disney fanatic. I know you can't hope for a code unless you've stayed on property before according to mousesavers.com:confused3 .

:surfweb: I already have reservations for july but ordered the DVDs on a lark and about 2wks later we got an email with a 20% code, unfortunately it dose not cover the time period we will be on vacation

I ordered the DVD for myself (using a new email address I have) and also for my parents (who I am treating to a Disney vacation in November), under their address & email. This will be my 3rd trip in 3 years to Disney and my parents first trip in 25+years.

They received a 20% off code. I didn't.

We have been going a few times a year since 92, have had annual passes for the last 4 years and this past Dec was the first time we ever received a 40% off code in the mail. The only other discounts we have received are AP and FL resident rates and they were not that much off.

That can't be true because I have never stayed on property and I got a 30% AND a 20%.

The last time I stayed on site was 1976, and I was a minor. (One of my friends was already 18 though, so the room was in her name.) But I got a Pin.

We have never stayed onsite either and just got a pin code yesterday.

Too bad I can't use it!

We stayed on property in '06, but never received any mailings about discounts so, we requested a DVD with the hopes of getting a code. Something came with the DVD, however, couldn't seem to find it when we were ready to book. I called to see if a code was attached and there was a 40%. Later, I found the info that came with the DVD and it was for 20%. I guess it paid to call and ask.

I just requested a DVD and used my husband's name and my other email address and I finally got a PIN! It's only 20% and not the dates we wanted, but there you go. :(

I ordered the planning DVD a couple of weeks ago and received the 20% pin (or value for $84 a night) yesterday by email. I did say I was planning and upcoming trip which is true since I am already booked for September.

I asked my travel agent to see if she could apply the pin to my current reservation but she said it was a pointless code for me. She said I am already paying $84.00 per night and if I took the 20% I wouldn't qualify for free dining. So it was nice to receive a code but I won't be able to use it.

I see a pattern of people ordering DVD's and indicating that they are planning an upcoming trip receive a code.

I called in January to book a birthday/anniversary trip for our family-and we go evry year anyway. The guy on the phone said congratulations its the Yr. of a Mill. Dreams 40% off your room AKL savannah view 174/night-i booked 2 rooms 1 for us & 1 for the parents. Free dining for the parents since they have a package! SWEET...:thumbsup2
