A Tip when leaving through MCO

My Mom travels frequently through MCO. She used to have "Fly Clear" but since that's been suspended, she's discovered something that she passed on to me this weekend. Where the "Fly Clear" lanes used to be in the center of the 2 security areas on both sides of the airport there are now "expert traveler" lanes set up. When I went to catch my flight yesterday there were lines at all of the other security points except here, only one person in front of me.

Got through in no time at all :thumbsup2

So, just because you've left WDW doesn't mean you can forget the mantra: "Don't be a sheep!!"

What makes someone an "expert" traveler? Were there any restrictions to using this line?

That's been in place for a while. An expert is considered to be someone that travels frequently and knows how to get through the security lines (has shoes off, laptop out of bag, etc) and generally no children. However, I have seen TSA just send people to a line, any line, just to even out the traffic.

There's a difference between docily following the Pied Piper and the sheep in front of you versus having a crook put around your neck.

I always feel guilty getting in the experienced travelers line. I travel with 1 or 2 children, we always have our shoes off, everything ready to go in the bin, stroller folded, in and out in no time. I somehow always end up behind a group that is new to flying.

:santa::santa::santa:

Don't you just hate when the person in front of you waits until the very last minute to take off their shoes, removes the labtop walk through the metal detectors only to find out they for got to remove the items from their pockets:mad:

They should pass out the bins before you even get in line. They could sent up an area with the bins, a table, and some chairs. Then once you have gotten every thing squared away you can get in line. But that would be too easy. Thats the government for you.

The Expert lane is meant for experienced frequent flyers, not people who think they are frequent flyers.

The Expert Lane signs say:
-expert at TSA procedures
-always ready with items removed
-flies more than twice per month
-travels light
-elite frequent flyer member

Everyone thinks their an expert, but all too often I see families using the expert lane slowing everyone else down. TSA has a lane specified for people with children / families. Be considerate and use that lane if you are traveling with your children.

Originally the TSA didn't want passengers with medical exceptions to the 3-1-1 rule using the expert line. I don't know if that's still policy.
