A Thank You to the Night Manager Bill and his Staff at the Royal Pacific.
I was one of those unfortunate people who had a rough time on the 1/15 Disney Magic cruise. We were scheduled to fly home on Sat. afternoon but all the airports closed in the northeast. Every local hotel within a few miles range of the airport was quickly filled, so I decided to try and get back my rental car that I'd returned moments before and had paid for a full day already. Avis gladly gave me a car for the rest of the day at no additional cost and I went to find a hotel near Universal. We tried to get a room at Hard Rock but with no luck. They called the Royal Pacific and they had rooms so we drove over.
I was told by my airline that the airports would remain closed for another day and my first chance to get home would be Monday morning. The night manager offered to extend my stay and even helped in getting me boarding passes just after midnight. Granted the hotel does have a business office, but it closes at 10:00 pm and doesn't open on Sunday. I was offered directions to a local Kinkos by the concierges desk, but the night manager Bill was able to use his printer in his office to help me out of an already stressful situation. My thanks to Bill and his staff at the Royal Pacific. I usually like to stay at the Hard Rock when I stay at a Universal on-site hotel, but I'm now hooked on Royal Pacific.
PS- In talking with Bill, he mentioned that the Disboards and especially this site is in fact monitored by managers at their on-site hotels. They like to see both praises and problems we encounter so they can quickly address any concerns we have. Feel free to post any issues that you have and know that they are read...Mark
