A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

What amazing animal photos. Did you go on the safari very early or late? My DS (5) would go mad to see the cheetahs.:woohoo:

Great 'fari pictures!

great update and pics.

you might want to change the title, we are no longer at Atcot. :rotfl2:

Just checked in before Science, and all I get is chastised!!! Man, oh man, this is a harsh place!

Just for you Scott, we have officially left Atcot and are at Ammel Cammo on the 'fari. Thanks for keeping me up to date. :thumbsup2

We won't be at Ammel Cammo long, though, so look for the title to change again soon.

Awesome 'fari pictures!!

I can't imagine how nerve-wracking that observation must be. I'll have to do it at some point, but with little kids, not third graders. I hope your student teacher does well and is not too intimidated. Good luck to you both!

I loved your side bar about your student teacher.... I think we have all done that. Hope it goes well, it is so stressful to teach in front of that much of an audience! Love all the pictures once again!

BTW there were some cute WDW boy baby stuff so no worries if you have a little boy!

That's good to know about the baby clothes. It will be fun to shop either way - blue or pink!

The student teacher made it through. We'll see what her supervisor wrote later on.

You got some great animal shots on the safari!! I'm glad you are going back again soon, because I will miss seeing all of your pictures when this report is over!

Jill will be back in October, and she'll hopefully get some good video of the safari.

Good luck with the student teacher. No pressure there;)

She did get a little flustered in spots, but overall she did okay.

Great safari photos, MeMom. You guys saw quite a few animals.

I love the photo you posted earlier of Jill, John and Brooklynn in her bug glasses. TOO cute!

We did see a lot of animals, and a lot of them were close to the road.

Excellent safari shoots! You got some really good close-up. We have never seen those elusive cheetahs and the warthogs weren't there when we did our two week trip.

I was so excited to get those guys!

Amazing safari pictures! Really close up too!

I hope your student teacher's observation went well! I remember those days!

I had it zoomed in a lot. I was pleased with what I got.

I hate observations. We still get them from the state three times a year, too, so we don't lose the idea of what student teachers feel.

great update and pics.

you might want to change the title, we are no longer at Atcot. :rotfl2:

Title changed. Thank you for being a good and efficient secretary. I need it!

Glad you came along on our 'fari! We were actually just middle of the day on that one. When we came out, Jammin Jungle was going on. We have found the last safaris of the day to be the best for activity.

Great 'fari pictures!

Thanks. It is one of our top 'must sees' when we are there!

She just goes a little too fast and not quite enough detailed for third-graders, so sometimes they don't quite catch on. She'll learn, though, because not only have I told her, in a very nice way, to be as simplistic as possible and repeat the directions clearly, but she will get tired of them asking the same questions over and over, and it'll finally click that if she does it properly on the front end, it'll save her a lot of headache on the back end. Did that make sense?

She's a real sweet girl. She wants to work with younger children, also.

Great safari pics Memom. I don't know how, with 10 days in the parks, but somehow we didn't make it on the safari this trip. However, your pictures make me feel like I was there. Thanks. Who knew I'd get to go on a safari on my lunch break today.

Cathy

Your safari pics are great, as well as the beaches n cream pics. We may have to stop in there when we go in Nov. I'm glad your student teacher did well. I'm enjoying all the updates!
:goodvibes

Thanks for the safari pictures. The Animal Kingdom is my favorite park and I love seeing pictures of it.

it is how I can tell what to read.

ooh another change coming. :yay:

I was still logged on to Jill's account looking for a PM about her October fridge swap for her, but it's me, MeMom, so don't hold it against her for anything that was said here. ;)

Oooooooohhh nooooo, say it ain't soooooo!
No safari? :sad1:
I'm glad you enjoyed your lunchbreak safari, :sunny: paw: paw: paw: but it's nothing like the real thing.
We get goofy over seeing the animals.
We as in Jill and I.
The guys are just normal about it.
Then again, that's pretty much how it is with everything when we're there. :)

:goodvibes

I think some of us are going to try to meet up on the 29th, so if you're there then, please join us. We're thinking it may be in or around Epcot, and there are no obligations for a long time - just meet and greet and maybe sit and have a milkshake or something and get a picture for the report. We'd love to have you!

Thanks for the safari pictures. The Animal Kingdom is my favorite park and I love seeing pictures of it.

There's so much to love about Animal Kingdom. I wish I could spend a lot more time there on every trip, and I don't get how some people think it's a half day park. But, we're all very different, and I guess that's a good thing!

it is how I can tell what to read.

ooh another change coming. :yay:

I've got to get pictures loaded before we start a new day.

I just realized that we're only on Day Three, and we've been back home for two months! I just hate to leave out any pictures. I don't want to show just one or two of everything as long as you guys are okay with seeing them all. Not only do I want to share them with you, but I enjoy seeing them again and being in that moment again.

To finish up our last little bit at Animal Kingdom:

We saw a tiny bit of Jammin Jungle parade as we headed toward the front of the park.

Donald looked straight at us and asked, "Where's my friend, declansdad?"

IMG_1409.jpg

We assured him Dad and Ma would be there in just a few weeks.

The purple kangaroo looked straight at us and asked, "Where are my eyeballs?"

IMG_1412.jpg

We didn't know what the answer to that was! :confused3

Look how cute Mickey is in his jungle attire!

IMG_1417.jpg

I love this parade!

I know what you're thinking...

All together now~
She loves everything when she's in Disney World!

John got a frozen lemonade, I believe.

IMG_1421.jpg

We went through one more shop for a minute.

Then we left Ammel Cammo for the day.

Next up, we finally make it to Day Four and fun at Magic Kingdom!

Yay, Mickey!!!::MickeyMo :mickeyjum

Great safari and parade photos. We didn't get to see Donald in the parade- we didn't see the parade as I recall :confused3

Hope your student teacher made out well. Soemtimes its a real eye opener for those supervisors to get in a classroom:rotfl:

What is exactly is a "waxed apple"? This is not a term we Atlantic Canadians are familiar with.

great pictures!! We discovered the frozen lemonades this past trip in August--I believe my daughter became addicted to them!!:goodvibes

I love that you share so many pics - share on! :goodvibes The frozen lemonades are sooo yummy. I was wondering what a waxed apple is too?

Very good to know!! Though, my "baby boy" is now practically a toddler. :guilty:

for todays catching up... im starting at post 339...lets see how far i get before my shift is over...

I love that poster of all the mickey hats...if they had it in shirt form i would totally buy it (providing i had extra money to spend :rotfl: which at the moment i totally dont)

And since you started buying pins i know you wouldnt miss out on Pop Pins. :lmao: I'm sure your pins will bring you daily happiness. Wherever i see Disney it always brings me happiness.

I like the bathroom doors of pop.
The favorite of Trent and Kristi last year.

IMG_0561.jpg

That was my favorite view when i was delivering XCO's early in the mornings before i left. THat and overlooking the lake.

Wait, Brooklynn will be how old on her next birhtday? I'm a little thrown off now. :rotfl:

I miss the shadow boxes...and lining up to do the Hustle. Good times. Good TImes.

Its no joke. those birds do get aggressive. they use to chase me down when i was coming back from delivering XCO's. (i dont think they liked me "ending" guests vacations) I dont miss those birds but i do miss the bunnies and ducks (did u get any pics of them)

I like Jill's pajamas and ya'lls windows.

okay..so today i made it to post 402. not very far but hey i am supposed to be working...i'll play catch up again tommorrow

Hi Memom and Jill! I had to take a little break as my baby brother got married last weekend and I had a million and one wedding things to do before and after the wedding. But I missed Disney and I missed you guys, so here I am. :D

I loved the AtCot pics. We too really enjoyed the Canada movie -- Martin Short was too funny. My kids have an aversion to face characters for some reason, so we haven't spent much time with the princesses. Such a bummer! The pictures of Beaches & Cream look mighty tasty. I think once we have to go back to hotels for naps, it would be a great place to spend an afternoon break. We love the Safari too. The last time we were on it, Liam found it far easier to hunt for animals on the signs instead of the wild. :giggle:

On a sidenote... I'm so glad to hear that Jill's little one is doing so well. My Liam's birthday is is April 7th, so that's making me think Disney and Jill's doc are right. I'm also glad to hear your student teacher's lesson went well. That's such a nerve wracking time.

I promise not to stay away so long next time. I missed you guys!!

My goodness! It has been awhile since I was able to catch up on the Magic Camel Ride, but Im back now! Between my best friend's motorcycle accident (he will be ok, but I went to his house to help him out...he got broken pretty good and his accident was 3 days after his wife broke her foot:eek: ) and now just finding out that my husband is deploying to Iraq in 15 days Ive been way too busy with life. I have a free minute now so I decided to check in on you girls and there are 67 pages!!! WOW!!! Well, back to reading now!:surfweb:

another great one.

i say take as long as u need to get all the pics up. u know we will all be here.
