A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

Look forward to it. I cannot wait to have another one.

Beautiful world showcase pictures!
How cute that Brooklyn asked where the Beast was.
Your BBQ looks great and Brooklynn is so cute in the video. :goodvibes

Thanks on all those compliments. You have to be getting so excited that your trip is so close! I can't wait for you guys to lay eyes on Main Street all decorated in orange very soon!

Great World Showcase pictures and I love the Labor Day BBQ!
Maybe I can make Spring Break, and come help you out with the youngin' (like you'll need it) you're going to have a great time!

Alright! Put it on your calendar. If it happens, it'll be the 18th through 21st. Keep your fingers crossed for the airline prices to be reasonable.

Here's hoping for a March trip. From reading all of your posts, I knew you wouldn't be able to last until July:rotfl: What a nice grandma you are to Brooklyn. My mom and dad love their grandkids like crazy and do lots of things with them when we are together, but they have no desire to go to Disney with my kids. Dangit!

That spontaneously combusting thing doesn't sound very pretty, so I'm hoping for the trip to happen. Even the short two full days plus two parts of days should be enough to keep that from happening until our good big summer trip.

Look forward to it. I cannot wait to have another one.

It was so big and so good! We will definitely be going back there in the future.

I'm hoping with you for the March trip! :goodvibes

Thanks. It's kind of like the castle show, isn't it? We all close our eyes and wish for the dreams to come true, and they always do! :rotfl: If everyone on the TR wishes for it to happen, maybe it really will! :donald: :goofy: :mickeyjum (Why is there no bouncing Minnie?)

Coming up tonight, Beaches and Cream.

Morning MeMom, I'm up earlier than normal and I see you were up early aswell. I do appreciate how hard it must be to teach (try to teach) a number of kids all with different needs. A very stressful job. Just remember we need you and we are thankful for good teachers. :teacher: My DS14 didn't have that much to say about HS. He is in this faze where he is too cool :cool2: to talk to us. I get in his space too much...nag too much...Oh the teenage years. We did have to drive him because his bus never came. He's not sure if he wants to go to WDW next year. Break my heart. :sad2: I understand its hard with the age difference between him and his DSis8. She still likes to get autographs and shop, while he would ride Test Track 50 times. He was bored quite a bit last year. I wish he could bring a friend but so far there is no one interested. It also must be hard for him to be with three girls (me, mom & DD). I'm going to understand if he decides not to go, but I secretly hope he changes his mind. I will have no one to go on Dinosaur with. On the other hand there would be no one saying, not another gift shop. Come on! :rotfl2:

MeMom,
What are your dates for march? We are looking at the 6-12 or 13 depending on flights...

Somehow I think I missed you in the last batch of replies. I am so sorry! We would be going during our spring break. We'd be there the 18th-21st, which is a Wednesday through Saturday. It looks like we would miss each other by just a little.

Stressful it is, and it's not all just the kids. A lot of it is the testing pressure, and the curriculum for third grade is too hard. That is reiterated to us across the board in any workshop we ever go to by any presenter from any state in the country. This is the 'step it up' year, and the reading material goes up a big jump from 2nd to 3rd.

Hang in there with your high schooler. I made it through three of them. Eventually, they do come around to see that you have some worth, and they let you know how rotten they used to act. :) I'm the same way with Drew about going in November, or any other time, for that matter. He likes to ride a few rides, mostly the same ones over and over, but he also likes to do other things out in Orlando. I want him to go and enjoy being with the family, but I don't want to pay for a Disney ticket for him just to do what little he does there.

And if he doesn't go, that frees up extra shopping money!!! :)

I try to be understanding, though. His idea of a great vacation would be to travel across the country and ride every bike park and see car races and boat shows and visit historical museums (he loves history) and such. I wouldn't exactly be thrilled with that, except that I'd enjoy some of the museums, so we have to appreciate each other's differences.

As for being up early, that's just something I have done for years. I usually watch House Hunters at 9 and then the news at 10, and I'm asleep shortly after that. My body will not stay asleep but a few short hours. A four hour stretch without waking up at least once is very unusual....and very welcomed. Normally I wake up for good sometime during the three a.m. hour, but sometimes it's a little earlier. Only if I have had a hard week do I make it to the four a.m. hour. I hate it, and I know it is bad for my health, but it is just what I do. Occasionally, well, rarely, I will take a Tylenol PM if just really know I need to get some good rest. Then I might make it to the four a.m. hour.

MeMom, just wanted to let you know that I took your advice and booked a room-only for October at Pop! :goodvibes

It's not definite, definite that we will be going, but I wanted to be prepared. :rotfl:

nice sign pic.

I see the dsoctor today and find out if trip is on. it should be i feel ok so far.

Brooklynn will help me. She loves "Dondle"!

Wow, that's a lot better than I would have imagined. It costs nearly that to fly from here, and we're a lot closer. Right now what I'm seeing up to the 6th is anywhere from $102 to $184. $184 is probably going to knock us out of the running, but if we can get $102 to $144, then we may be able to swing it. We've been lucky enough to get $79 before, but I'm doubting that's ever going to happen again.

Now, I've gotta get working on that party. Let's see, Mexico Donald? Safari Donald? Maybe some Philharmagic Donald....

Right now our prices are not looking good for next summer. We may need to look at driving to Portland or into New Hampshire to stay in that price range. Right now, Delta is showing about $600 per person from Bangor for next summer. That is too much.

Be prepared! You're a good Scout! that's what I'm doing for our March hopeful trip. I've got a spot for us if we can get there, and that's all I need to worry about right now. If my bank account weren't so anemic right now, I'd be going in October, too.

Let us know what he says as soon as you get home. Or is he a she?

Southwest is only showing flights through March 6th. That's what we always fly, but maybe if others already have theirs out, I should check around. Moving over to the airline sites now. Check ya later!

Memom -- I have the same problem with the sleeping. I can go to bed at 11:00pm and I am up at 3am... wide awake. I do crash in the afternoon though.
My doctor told me to take Melatonin before I go to bed. I take 3MG and I have been sleeping longer hours. I still wake up in the middle of the night, but I am able to fall back asleep which is what my body really needs. You can buy it at any drug store.

I am just off to bed now and I can't wait for a Beaches and Cream update when I wake up in the morning!!!
Lots of piccies please!!!

xxx

he said i will be fine to go.

i need to lose weight. :rolleyes1

my headache sare migraines so he told me to take excedrin migraine.

before flying I need to use afrin.

If I feel dizzy to just rest till it goes away.

I can drink up till dinner.

Thanks. I am so excited and happy tonight.

I will probably give that a try, then. I wanted to avoid doctors and sleep studies and such.

Nothing like a big bowl of ice cream to start off your day! ;)

Lose weight? Don't we all?

I'm sorry to hear about the migraines, though. I've never had them, but I've known people who went through pretty rough times with them.

That's great that the doctor says you are good to go Scott. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Yep, and I hope he has a great time!

You have the doctor's clearance to head to Disney World!!! La, la, la, la!

All systems go. Scott, go start packing. You're a guy, so I'm guessing you're going to throw some things in a bag shortly before you leave, unlike us girls who lay out the suitcases three weeks ahead of time (at least) and start putting little goodies in.

Now, about that ice cream...

Here it is, our first visit to the famous Beaches and Cream.

IMG_1260.jpg

The skinny guy carrying the ice cream obviously doesn't ever eat any of it. He just runs around with it.

The pool was busy with activity,

IMG_1262.jpg

but I tried to wait until people moved and angled the camera to try to get it as people-free as possible.

IMG_1264.jpg

What an awesome pool!

I liked the umbrellas.

IMG_1265.jpg

IMG_1266.jpg

I was trying to get all artistic with the photography, but it didn't work.

IMG_1267.jpg

You can tell that, right?

IMG_1268.jpg

We only had a short wait, and we were led inside the very small soda shop.

IMG_1269.jpg

Brooklynn checked out the menu.

IMG_1272.jpg

The decor was so cute.

Those mirrors, as those of us who love HGTV well know, are there to make this small place seem larger.

People next to us got the Kitchen Sink, which was brought out to them with much attention. Everyone applauded the masterpiece.

IMG_1279.jpg

I knew we couldn't do a Kitchen Sink, but we could take a shot at a No Way Jose.

IMG_1280.jpg

Brooklynn helped me. So did the others.

Jill had a cheeseburger and fries.

IMG_1281.jpg

(It looks like Jill has no arms.)

Jill says her cheeseburger was very good.
She did not eat the tomato.
She always gives me her tomatoes, but I didn't have a burger to put it on this time.

John had a cheeseburger and fries.

IMG_1282.jpg

John says his cheeseburger was very good.

And he says the restaurant was very small.

I know this because I just called and asked them for their commentary on the Beaches and Cream experience.

Minnie and Daisy enjoying ice cream.

IMG_1283.jpg

Then there was a cute little ice cream cone table, which I can't show you right now because I have reached my picture limit.

It was probably all those silly umbrella pictures.

The ice cream cone table will have to wait until next time.

I wonder where Erica and Dawn are right now!?!?

great update and pics.

got my mouth watering looking at the no way Jose.

I love dthat place.

That was the table we sat at when we went.

Fun update!!! My wheels are turning now as to whether Beaches and Cream would be a good place to eat before hitting the road Sunday afternoon...hmmm...

I think your artistic shots of the umbrellas turned out fabulous!!!

I showed Charles the pic of Jill, John, and Brooklyn and told him that we would hopefully be meeting them in October!!! :cheer2:

I bet Dawn and Erica are currently enjoying a nighttime spectacular of some sort! Lucky ducks!

I'll take a Frozen Sunshine for $4.99 MeMom, okay I'll have the Kitchen sink instead. That thing is huge. Cute restaurant though. I liked the pics of the umbrellas.
I  House Hunters!!! I usually PVR it. (our version of TIVO)
I'm glad my DS will eventually find me worthy again in the future. My mom says its payback for my teenage years. He told me tonight that I could just give him $500 to stay home. I just laughed, I liked your idea of more shopping money.
My mom has trouble sleeping too, she says it happens when you get older. ;) She sometimes takes the Tylenol PM also. I sell Melatonin at my work and many people swear by it. They say its not habbit forming. Nighty night, sleep tight.
