Great update! I don't know a whole lot about Star Wars, but it looks like a fun parade. Mickey and Minnie look so cute in their costumes!

How was the first day of school? I hope it went well!

Not one of my worst, but not one of my best first days. Just an average first day. Our numbers are small, though, so we may lose a teacher. If so, we'll have absorb her twelve among the four others. Our school is very transient, so hopefully we'll get enough new ones in so we can keep the new teacher. She's a young girl form Jacksonville, Florida who came here to pursue the music business, so at least she would (hopefully) have options. She's a real sweet, cooperative team member, so I hope we get to keep her.

All in all, it was a pretty uneventful first day, so I guess that's a good thing! Thanks for asking.

what a wonderful update. I love Star Wars and I have to say that was my favorite update so far.

Money = the only factor, in this case. I'd go in a New York minute at spring break if the money was there.

I'm glad to oblige you on the Star Wars pictures. I knew people who knew about the movies were really enjoying it.

I thought three things -
1)the Disney characters were cute
2)there were some ugly SW creatures
3)it was hot!

They were cute. I like seeing the Disney characters in any kind of different/special/seasonal attire. I'm sure most 51 year old women in the world feel the same, right?

It was probably better than the deposition; I'll give you that one. And I didn't have to drive an hour. I'm lucky to only be about fifteen minutes away from my job.

Yes, the pins were great! They're holding up my bus schedule and some other stuff. Maybe I'll take a picture or two of my room and show it to you guys.

Uneventful is a good thing in our school. They did temporarily lose a kindergartener, though. She was found pretty quickly, but there's always panic in the building when a kid gets misplaced.

Thanks. I needed that reminder. I am looking forward to that trip. I'll also be calling in to book our next summer's trip within a week, so that'll help, too.

Jill's feeling good, so far. She felt queasy one morning and left work early, but other than that, she said she's had no troubles. She's really going have to watch herself around the little kids, though. They get excited and kick or bump their heads into you, you know how kids do. She'll just have to be a little on the cautious side.

I don't know how anyone could dress up in those costumes in the heat.

That's what I was thinking. Those are some dedicated people! Either that, or they were getting paid very well, and I don't think that's the answer.


Okay, on with the day.

We've almost made it to lunchtime. If all my Dis buddies come back from their trips and I'm still on Day Two, they may forsake me!

We had lunch reservations at Sci-Fi, so we headed that way.

We saw these guys playing with kids on the way.

And a character greeting people across from Sci-Fi.

I think he was asking himself how in the world he got talked into that job.

I got him in between people walking to and from him, so they were quick shots.

Sci-Fi. This was John's choice. He wanted to eat here again and try something different from last year.

It was cool inside, so we waited in there. I have some dark pictures.

I hope you can see them a little.

We had a table near the service area.

We had to have glow cubes, since Brooklynn was old enough to think that was cool this year.

I am not sure why Jill has her hands over her eyes. I think maybe Brooklynn was trying to get their Cokes, which she can't have, and Jill was telling her not to look or something. I'll have to see if she remembers.

After lunch, Brooklynn was able to take a turn driving the car for a picture. This was her first solo Sci-Fi car picture.

It appears that she needs a booster seat and maybe some pedal extensions.


So, to recap, we had done Toy Story, Playhouse Disney characters and show, High School Musical, Star Wars parade, and lunch at Sci-Fi.

I was covering her eyes because the flash was blinding her!

that will be mine and erica's first full day at disney. we will be sure to think about you!

Great pictures of Sci-Fi. I have always enjoyed eating there. I remember most of the movies that the clips represent, as the Saturday afternoon movie on TV.

Glad school is going well so far.

My dh and I have just returned from a family reunion in Northern Kentucky, so I am still trying to catch up with all the Dis news. A lot can happen when you miss four days of the Dis. I thought of you as we went through Tenn., to bad we went though Knoxville instead of Nashville

Happy Birthday, whenever it was! Is the Jersey shore just like Disney's Boardwalk? Share a picture, if you'd like.

I went to Ocean City NJ in June for the first time with DBF. He used to go every summer when he was a kid but I had never been. He thought I was crazy because I kept talking about our WDW trip and saying "And they have a boardwalk that is just like the Jersey boardwalks!" He was like, "Um, that's where we are right now. Why are you excited about going somewhere that is a recreation of where we are right now?"

This is one of my favorite things at DHS...Teenagers from Outer Space is one of my favorite films of all time! It's hilarious, featuring everything from space monsters called Gorgons (lobsters held close to the camera lens) and a space-ray that turns people into skeletons. Plus the 'teenagers' all look about 35. I love that Sci-Fi has this poster!
