A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

NOW!

But I will be back when I'm finished grading three sets of papers, doing lesson plans for Reading Groups, and recording SS grades for two classes.

Caribbean Beach was pretty, too, when I was there in July. You're just going to have to stay at all of them on many future trips.

Zawadi is an awesome gift shop, and I will bring back Mara pictures. We're going over to AKL to take pictures of the Christmas tree. I'm hoping some of the resorts will have trees up before Thursday/Friday, or we're not going to be able to see them all. If we can get to some of them on Tuesday and Wednesday, that would be nice. Last year, Pop Century had theirs up when we got there about the 17th, but POFQ and POR didn't, so I guess it varies from resort to resort.

Do you used pecans in your magic cookie bars? If so, you can make sure my bar, the one I know you were planning to send me, has extra nuts! :)

The ones I make have walnuts -- do you still want yours or should I eat if for you? :lmao:

Glad to have you back, safe and sound. Sounds like Jill got you some nice gifts. I know how much you love your pens. ;)

Disney on Ice would be fun to see. I'm happy to hear Brooklynn enjoyed the show and the visit with her MeMom. :lovestruc

Looks like you got down to business and got to work. Good for you, I have a bad habbit of avoiding the things I don't want to do.... and get very distracted by the DIS also.

Almonds, cashews, pecans, hazelnuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts....I love nuts! Cashews and pecans are probably my favorites, and I've always used pecans for magic cookie bars. I'll be looking for the package in the mailbox that has little chocolate smears on it.

Now that I'm thinking about nuts, it brings to my memory that someday I want to have the pineapple macadamia pancakes at (I believe it is) Kona. They sound good to me, and in pictures of them I have seen, they look like a wonderful way to start off a Disney day!

I have three more pens to use in my meetings. And for my writing pleasure, my school has not failed me, as we have a Math Night meeting after school today, and I'm the third grade representative for that. So...I'll be writing away with one of my Disney Happy Halloween pens. At least this meeting won't be a boring one, so that's good.

I had the pleasure of helping tuck Brooklynn into bed after her bath. Then I left the room so that Jill and John could do their normal bedtime routine with her. When they were finished, she wanted me to come in there again before she went to sleep. It was probably just a ploy to get a few more minutes of awake time, but I loved being able to go in there and give her a few more kisses as she grabbed my neck with those sweet little arms and pulled me to her. Just like with my kids, I can think of her and get tears in my eyes because I love her sooooooooo much!!!

I put off work longer than I should have last night, so after I was done, it was time to crash.

Now it is Monday.
Yuck.
Mondays are my least favorite day of the week.
They get better the closer they get to Friday! :)

Which Disney on Ice are you seeing? This one was better than the one in Nashville, and their souvenirs were better, too. I still didn't see anything that thrilled me enough to spend the money while not in the real Disney World, though. Jill got a Peter Pan and Captain Hook banner, a Flounder hat w/popcorn, and a Disney on Ice lemonade cup for Brooklynn.

The Disneyland Adventure one. Hope it's good. Thankfully the 2 kids (19,21) are to old to want stuff although I have to say DD the 21 year old reverts to being a kid about disney.

Hey Memom.. I have been a lurker for the last week. I hope you had a nice weekend. Only a little more than a month before our next Disney trip..yeah...

How is Drew feeling?

I finally got around to getting my Disney DVC visa card... they gave me a 75.00 gift certificate. I cannot wait to spend it at the X-mas store in MK

Other than being 'deployed', was Pop Century the only resort you really worked at?
Other than being deployed, yes, Pop Century is really the only resort i worked at. Deployed i worked at All Star Music and Movies, Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans FQ, and of course Ft Wilderness. I enjoyed all my experinces even though at the time i didnt want to admit it cause i hated being deployed

We don't have much longer to wait until our November Disney fun!
How much longer is it? I know u started ur countdown now.

That does sound like a nice day! Do you happen to watch Little People, Big World? On Monday night, they showed Matt Roloff trying to get into Baghdad to check on a family with three dwarf children. It was interesting.

I sure did. I have pictures from Sean (my DH) that are identical to some of the places Mr. Roloff went. My DH rode in a Rhino (that armored vehicle) from the airport to the IZ as well. It was nice seeing the show because at that point I hadnt gotten any pics yet so I got to see what Sean was talking about.

There probably won't be anything you care that much about. If I am going to pay the prices they want, I'd just rather get something that really says Disney World on it, so I'll wait. Have fun at Disney on Ice, and come back and tell us about it. Feel free to put pictures on, too! I'd like to see the different things the shows do.

Five weeks from tonight we will be traveling!

Drew is much better. He picked up his x-rays today to take to the orthopedic doctor on Friday. I hope they say he can go back to work!

Do you think you'll meet up with Julie (Swans) and us and maybe a couple of others at Epcot on the Saturday after Thanksgiving? We thought over at the UK, either back around where the little garden is or over at the fish & chips place where there probably won't be a crowd. If not, I'll give you our loose itinerary, and maybe we can cross paths somewhere else. I think it would be fun to get a group picture though, if we can.

Here's what I think we will be doing, but it is subject to change.

Tuesday - arrive around 11, probably go to Animal Kingdom, probably run through AKL to see if the tree is up to get pictures, maybe Magic Kingdom for Spectro and Wishes in the evening

Wednesday - Magic Kingdom, early dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, possibly Hollywood Studios in the evening for Fantasmic

Thursday - Magic Kingdom just for a little while, just so we can say we were in Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving Day, ride over to Wilderness Lodge to see the tree, if it's up, maybe DTD and run by Pop to see our home's Christmas tree, Chef Mickey's for supper, probably run over to Grand Floridian for tree picture, maybe Wishes from Poly beach if we didn't see it on Tuesday

Friday - not sure about early in the morning, but the afternoon will be at Animal Kingdom so we can see Jingle Jungle Parade, then straight over to Hollywood Studios for Osborne Lights

Saturday - Epcot pretty much all day - Soarin' and lots of World Showcase Christmas storytellers

Sunday - most likely one more sweep through Fantasyland and a treat at Main Street Bakery before we head home.

I'm doing all that from memory, but I think it is right. We do have two ADR's that we will probably not keep. We have Crystal Palace in Friday for lunch, but then I realized that would be our only day to see Jingle Jungle, so I doubt we'll keep it. We have Cape May on leaving day, but I think I'd rather see more Magic Kingdom Christmas stuff, so I doubt we'll keep it.

Five weeks from tonight we will be on the road.

It was nice seeing the show because at that point I hadnt gotten any pics yet so I got to see what Sean was talking about.

I'm watching right now. I like the show, except for when the kids are so mouthy and when the house is messy, which is too often, really. I think Mike was a stable force for that family - a model of being level-headed and a hard worker. It's sad that he died, and I am sorry for those kids, because I think they needed him around, especially Jacob.

I SEE IT!!!! I SEE IT!!!!!!!! Wow! Great eye! I wonder if that is a designed bit of Disney Magic or if MeMom is just a Magical photographer? Maybe a little bit of both:thumbsup2

I see Mickey, too, but I don't know if it's real or imagined. That would be a good question for me to ask one of the rangers when I go in November.

Ooooh, what if I really am a Magical Disney Photographer Extraordinaire???
How cool would that be?
Maybe they would give me a job walking around taking magical pictures all day.
Sign me up for that!!!

Okay, whew, I'm not crazy then.
Well...I might be...but I am not alone in seeing a Mickey in there! :rotfl: If I do the "Wonders of the Lodge Tour" like I really, really, really want to, I'll be sure to ask. :thumbsup2

MeMom, I think you ARE a Magical Disney Photographer Extraodinaire!!!

Hooray for you for your 22 day dance. Only I think this morning it's 21, so you're almost in the teens!!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Today I am in the teens!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!

Does everybody have exciting, or at least fun or relaxing, weekend plans?

I had a nice date night with my hubby on Saturday night. We both caught a cold that day and were miserable by the end of the night (he still is), but it was worth it for a sweet night out with my love! :lovestruc

I am glad to hear you enjoyed your time with your Girls and got a bit of a Disney "tide me over" fix. :goodvibes 5 weeks goes by sooooo fast! You'll be there before you know it!

   Right now i am posting from the comfort of my own home, in my comfy clothes and im sitting in a chair! So happy to be posting on the DIS from home instead of standing at work. Just wanted to share. 5 weeks will go by before you know it!:thumbsup2

We have crystal palace for lunch Friday too!

Not sure if we'll keep it either, though!

I had forgotten that the AK parade started that day, and it's too much to go to MK, then AK, then HS all in one day during this crowded time, so we'll most likely call and cancel Crystal Palace.

Glad to hear that Drew is doing better!

He's still in the sling, and he still can't move his body right as he accomodates the shoulder, but he's pretty much all over the place again. He wants to ride his bike again, but that's going to be a little while yet. Taking away his ability to ride a bike for weeks is like most of us not being able to Dis for weeks. It's his thing, and he misses doing it.

I want to take the lodge tour, too, someday.

I read about all you sickies on your report. I hope you are feeling better today.

Five weeks from right now, I'll be in a hotel room in Perry, GA getting ready to make the second leg of the ride to WDW!

Congratulations on arriving to your teen countdown!

I know you are glad to have the internet at home now. Now you can drive your boyfriend crazy again with all your Dis stories!

Jill, John, and Brooklynn went back to Pop Century to take a nap and swim, and I went on into Magic Kingdom to shop and take pictures.

A dainty little Magic Kingdom shop sign.

I think a Disney dentist could set up shop by all that and do a good amount of business.

The afternoon parade was in progress.

Eeyore is a favorite of mine.

I tried to get Mary Poppins for Nicole, but I didn't get a good shot.

There is much more shopping ahead, but I have to get ready for the day. Have a good Tuesday, everyone!

Good Tuesday to you to MeMom! :flower3: I have the answer to the picture question, but don't want to be too much of a goober and answer it. :rotfl:
I do, however, want the giant Mickey Mouse rice Krispie treat!! That think was like a cake!!! Holy Cow

OH! OH! I KNOW! There's a chef on top of the treats in the seconds picture!!!

YUM!!! I want one of each of those treats right now and it's only 6:35 a.m.!

I love that Alice in Wonderland tea set! So cute!

Another great update. I love all the pictures. I will have to live through your pictures as we had to change our dates for our vacation. However I am not too sad as now we get to stay at the Wilderness Lodge.

Enjoyed the pictures! It was a nice start to my morning, as I have Parent/Teacher conferences until 7:00 tonight. I am catching up with my students. This is my last week of maternity leave and I have to got back to school on Monday! I'm lucky to have had 3 months to stay home with my little ones, and glad I have a job to go back to, but I/m still not ready to go back!!
