A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

We had a cool Magical Express bus.

The ride.

Brooklynn listened intently to the video.

Our destination.

Jill taking a picture toward me and me taking one toward her.

IMG_0231.jpg

Note that Mike Wazowski was worn out from the plane ride and was crashing on the luggage.

This nice lady checked us in.

IMG_0232.jpg

Let's start this party!

IMG_0234.jpg

Brooklynn leads the way to Everything Pop.

IMG_0236.jpg

Look down (or up or any which way) and you might find a Hidden Mickey.

IMG_0237.jpg

The rooms were not ready yet, so we headed to the kiddie pool.

IMG_0238.jpg

IMG_0239.jpg

I thought it was

IMG_0240.jpg

that we were finally here! :)

I took a lot of flowers and plants pictures this time. I'm thinking of making some kind of small collage picture of the many beautiful Disney flowers.

IMG_0241.jpg

There's that sign that I like to be looking at.

IMG_0242.jpg

Water time.

IMG_0243.jpg

IMG_0244.jpg

IMG_0245.jpg

This never changes, yet I always feel like I should take a new picture of it.

IMG_0247.jpg

It was so hot that day that I'm betting the elephant and the giraffe were sort of squishy. You know what Play-Doh does in the sun.

This was where we sat to watch Brooklynn play.

IMG_0249.jpg

I had to walk around to get a few pictures, naturally.

Where would our room be?

Here?

IMG_0250.jpg

Here?

IMG_0263.jpg

:woohoo: it has begun.

great update and pics.

Looks like a great start.

The DME and POP pics look great.

Nope. It was here.

IMG_0253.jpg

But, until we could get in, we decided to go ahead and eat.

IMG_0261.jpg

IMG_0262.jpg

Some more pictures taken while waiting to get our room. There was a question by someone on one thread I was reading asking if Pop had plenty of greenery or was more barren than other resorts, so I took these.

IMG_0251.jpg

IMG_0252.jpg

IMG_0254.jpg

It doesn't have as much greenery as some resorts, but it does have more than you might notice at first.

You did know I would end up here, right?

IMG_0255.jpg

IMG_0256.jpg

IMG_0257.jpg

Remember that I had found an excuse to buy pins this time. I'm using them as push pins on my corkboard at school. I have all kinds of lists - bus duty, morning announcements, faculty information, etc. So now when I am checking to see what day I'm doing what, I'll have a happy pin reminding me of why I'm there.

IMG_0258.jpg

Back out to poolside to join the group.

IMG_0260.jpg

My room was ready, so we went to put all of our stuff in that room and get on to Magic Kingdom.

My room.

IMG_0264.jpg

IMG_0265.jpg

IMG_0266.jpg

A big box of peanuts Jill had sent to Pop for us.

IMG_0267.jpg

Under the peanuts there were diapers and assorted foods and baby needs she had shipped ahead.

This was what I saw outside my door.

IMG_0268.jpg

So here we were - the first bus ride of the trip.

IMG_0269.jpg

Awesome start!! I love how close your family is! I forgot to mention my friend was at Pop the same time you were! I'm looking closely for him in your pop pics! (nothing yet!)

Yay!:yay: Its really begun! Brooklynn looks so at home on the plane, on the bus and at the pool. She seems to really travel well. And don't worry, if I think really hard, I can hear a little voice singing " It's a Ma worl ".:cutie:

yay!!!!! you've started!!! :yay:

:wave2: i was waving at you guys.....did you see me?

Welllll....if you were the crazy lady out in the front yard jumping up and down flailing your arms, then yeah, we saw you!

Oh, and by the way, I took some pictures juuust for you on the trip. Some of your friends wanted to say hi. Quack, quack, tweet, tweet, chirp, chirp. Stay tuned!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I am so glad you started!!!!
Your pictures are fabulous as always!!! I can't wait to read the entire report and look at every single picture......3 or 4 times of course!:thumbsup2

Hi Memom & Jill,

So sorry i am just joining you so glad you had a good time and of coarse loving the pic's of Brooklyn our little girl is growing up:goodvibes she has gotten so big.

Keep it coming.

Tink

I think I muist give POP a try. it is really nice.

Welcome home!!! I hope your knee is feeling better by now! I am just feasting my eyes on all of the pics so far....I love it  Brooklynn really looks like she knows where she is going at POP! :rotfl: Right to the pool of course! She is such a cutie pie! I have some of those Mickey earings you posted a pic off! Can't wait for more!!! ;)

Good Grief! I'm LATE again!!!! Got alot of catching up to do! :surfweb:

:wizard: Have a blast on your trip!! I hope everyone has a safe and fun trip at Magic Camel!!:wizard:

Your post reminded that I don't think we ever explained the title for those who have not already read the Baby and the Tramp thread. You guys who have been reading know already that Brooklynn speak is:

Magic Kingdom - Magic Camel
Epcot - Atcot
Hollywood Studios - Ha-ee-wood
Animal Kingdom - Ammel Cammo

So, we used the Magic Camel for our title. She is one smart little girl and has an incredible memory, but she still says it all in toddler talk, obviously. It's so cute, and I want Jill to video her singing Small World and put it on for you, because it is precious.

It is a great feeling to take your first walk into the lobby of your resort, knowing that all the fun is yet to come. It is not so fun to board the Magical Express or drive out of your resort's driveway for the last time. I took pictures as we drove out of Pop, and then as we stopped at Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs to pick up other travelers. I tried to capture every last second of Disney that I could. When you leave Disney boundaries, it only takes a few seconds to see the difference in Disney World and Real World. The music, the colors, the smells - they are just not the same, not as intense.

That is so, so, so true!!!

The characters were great with Brooklynn, as well. Other than Tigger trying to make off with my sunglasses, all the characters were friendly. Get your own shades, oh striped one!!!

:rotfl2:

This never changes, yet I always feel like I should take a new picture of it.

IMG_0247.jpg

I do that sort of thing ALL THE TIME!

It was so hot that day that I'm betting the elephant and the giraffe were sort of squishy. You know what Play-Doh does in the sun.

:rotfl:

That is a fabulous idea!!! I am a teacher, also, and I always have a ton of paperwork tacked up on my board -- I am totally using my Disney pins from now on! :thumbsup2

All of your pictures are fantastic and are providing me with a lovely Disney fix! Thanks!

We are thinking the 80's buliding close to the parking lot at bus stops!

We have the standard room so will be on the outer edges I assume

So MeMom/Jill if you guys get a chance to get room #'s in this area
pop.jpg
it would be great but please don't worry with it if you don't have time

The areas you have marked are good. The inside of that Big Wheel building would be really good - right there on that row where the front wheel is. Our first trip there, we were in the Big Wheel building right across from the playground and right next to Classic Hall. It was nothing to be be able to walk down for food or drinks. If you could get right around the steps of the back side of that, it would be perfect. You're away from pool noise and foot traffic, but close to the bus stop and main building. And you'd be close to the Goofy jets, when you and Dawn want to go play in them and take silly pictures, 'cause I'm guessing there will be some silly pictures being taken on this giddy girl trip!

The 80s building would be fine, too, but the 70s is a few steps closer, so if I were making a request, I'd try for that one first. I hope some of that makes sense.

Nope. It was here.

IMG_0253.jpg

Awww, I have the same picture! In April, we were on the second floor to the left of the big Mickey phone. Outside our room, though, was the giant fooseball table. I'm all nostalgic now. :)

Brooklynn seems to be a very seasoned traveller! :goodvibes

Can't wait for more!!

My favorite spot at Pop Century is in the 50's facing the lake. I enjoyed watching the upper fireworks at night from EPCOT and if you listened real close you can almost hear the music.

I am loving all the pictures of Pop Century, it is making me homesick for Disney and for Pop Century.

Looking forward to the park pictures and video.

Great pictures.. i love brooklynn's bathing suit.. Very Hip and pop century... :cool1: I missed the sun when I was at pop in April. As soon as I was ready to relax, there was a torrential downpour.. not too much fun when you are by yourself... lol
I am going to have to start taking pictures of my entire journey... it looks like you guys had a blast.

All your pictures are awesome!! The Pop Century ones are getting me all excited :goodvibes to be there. Just 4 more weeks plus maybe an hour or so and we'll be there!!! Thanks for sharing, it's so fun to read your reports.

Cathy
