A technician will be there sometime between 8 and 5

If I had somewhere to be or was working, that would be different, but I was home all day anyway.

I've had Comcast tell me to expect them anytime between 9am and 9pm (and they never showed up after waiting all that time!). I canceled service with them very soon after that because of their horrible customer service.

I had a A/C repairman show up 3 hours late. I noted that when he arrived and he said "I'm sure you understand in your job how someone can get a few hours behind."
I pointed out I work in TV, and that I have actually seen people fired for being 10 seconds late. That shut him up quick.

Some of these places, especially cable companies, stink when it comes to scheduling.

My 3rd year in the dorms, my roommates and I got a cable appointment for the following Thursday between 8 and 5. He never showed up. We called to complain and were told by the technician that he would be there Tuesday or Wednesday between 8 and 3. We were annoyed, but since there were 6 of us (2 per room), we knew at least one of us would be in the dorm. Wednesday morning at 1 am there’s a knock at the door.

Ugh

He meant 9pm to 3 am

He figured since we were college students, we’d be awake at 1 in the morning.
