A Tale of [family madness in] Two Cities - Final Thoughts & PTR Link!

Henry looks like himself with the short haircut, just a bigger Henry! ;) Too cute!
I am amazed at the crowds you experienced! Wow! That's a whole lotta people! :scared: I'm glad you made it back to AK at night, it has such a different look. EE in the dark must be pretty wild! I would be screaming too! :thumbsup2
Have you had cooler weather up in NYC? We are not so humid so I think you may have had a break from it too. Are you thrilled to be there now?

Henry's haircut came out so good. I saw it on FB and thought it was adorable.

Great update and pictures!! The PP one of you with the corn dog nuggets are great! I also like the ones of Its A Small World. You are usch a great photographer. Looking forward to seeing your next update.

BTW did you have a nice 4th? Did you get to see any fireworks?

Henry looks too cute! Absolutely adorable!

Looks like you had a great night at MK! I'm glad you got your corn dog nuggets! One of these days I have to try them!

I complete understand dragging! I would have been too! What a long day!

Henry looks so grown up with the haircut!! He is adorable .

I am so happy you got your corndog nuggets. What a wonderful memory to have associated with them.

This picture is just too funny :rotfl2:. The hat is cute. Bill and I need to get one of those ice cream sandwiches someday. Looks like you had a great time at MK.

It really was a wonderful moment during our second trip, Henry's first. I fell in love with Spectro that night!

The ice cream sandwiches are soooooooooooo tasty! I think they are still a snack credit too if you are on the DDP - a great bargain!

I'm so glad that you got your nuggets; love the backstory! I would love to know what the PP photographer was thinking! :lmao:

Yum!

I'm really impressed with how much you did this day; no wonder you were dozing on the bus!

I'm certain that PP photographer thought I was NUTSO! I remember him kinda laughing, but he didn't say much...I can only imagine what other people have requested in those photos... :lmao:

Just being there, with the crowds was enough to tire anyone out, then doing it day after day - going to bed late and not getting many hours of sleep was starting to take a real toll!

Such a sweet memory of you and Henry eating corn dog nuggets. I'd love that too :)

It really is. I had never seen Spectro, or Wishes - we had just had a wonderful day at MK and this just topped it all!

Love the corn dog pictures! Those are the ones that will really mean something to you 20 years from now :goodvibes

You are right - I'm always going to look at those, remember both the moment from this trip with Joe and KK, us being goofy and laughing - and the memory with Henry that was relaxing and sweet.

On our last trip to Disney our first meal were the corn nuggets from Casey's. They were so good. I mentioned that fact to a cousin and she had never been to Casey's and she has been to Disney over 10 times. I was shocked. I then educated her about the joys of the corn nuggets at Casey's. Then watching the light parade on the curb.

There really is a magical thing about eating Casey's on the curb, isn't there? What did your cousin think of it all? I love it when they are hot and fresh...drool.

Henry's new haircut is adorable!!!

I am in love with your corn dog nugget pictures!!! I think your picture in front of the castle eating those corn dog nuggets may be the BEST Photopass picture I have ever seen!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

 That sounds like a challenge to be very creative with the PP this coming trip...

Oh my gosh Brook! I am totally cracking up at the PP pics of you eating Corn Dog Nuggets in front of the castle :lmao: That photographer must have thought you were insane!

I'm CERTAIN he did! I was half loopy due to the lack of sleep, so it just fed into it all!

Henry's hair cut is really cute!!

Love your corn dog nugget photos, they are great pictures. Ones that will always put a smile on your face. :thumbsup2

Thank you! At first I wasn't sure about the haircut, but now it's growing on me. I miss the mop-o-red a bit though. :goodvibes

 CORN DOG NUGGETS!

:rotfl: Love the Photopass picture in front of the castle!!!!!

Thanks! It was a fun moment being silly with the nuggets. I liked the idea of taking them all over the park too - might just happen on a future trip. ;)

All caught up on the last two updates! Love that you got to ride EE at night. I STILL haven't done it. Ugghhhhh!

Glad you got into FOTLK without any trouble.

Corn dog nuggets and those ice cream sandwiches - still on my must try food list. Hopefully I can get to one of them this September!

So glad you TR is back up and running. It seems so weird to see you guys in hats when its a bagillion degrees out today. Wrong - very wrong!

Getting AK PM EMH is tricky - hopefully it works out for you on a trip fairly soon though! It's a great ride during the day, but at night it's FREAKY!

The ice cream sandwich is just huge, but a great bargain. You can usually choose what kind of cookie you want too. So yummy!

If I ever try the nuggets, I'll make sure to take a pic for you hehe

 IF you ever try the nuggets? What is this "if" stuff?!?!

Thank you! He does look bigger, doesn't he? Every time you cut a child's hair they grow up! :sad2:

Our first two weeks here in NYC were hooooooot, then we had a few days of cool, but today was 95. Blah! Tomorrow is supposed to be that too. The humidity was a bit lower, so that helped. I will take the 80s back though! And yes....we are just loving it here! I'm happy to have the house about settled, Joe starts at his new office on Tuesday - life will start to have some routine again.

Happy Fourth of July to you, too, Brook! Despite not seeing fireworks, it sounds like you are having a great day!

We really have! And we just watched the fireworks from a live webcam stream - so it was kinda nice to still get to see them but not have to deal with the heat or crowds!

Thank you! I wasn't so sure about it at first, but now I really like it - and he's SO much cooler.

I always take a zillion pictures in Small World - there is so much to see in there and it's a cute ride.

We did have a nice 4th! Just hanging around the City at our apartment with my Mom - just watched the fireworks on a live webcam. We planned to go to see them, but the heat made us change our mind. The fireworks are amazing here, but you also have MAJOR crowds to deal with, so it's a toss up.

Henry looks too cute! Absolutely adorable!

Looks like you had a great night at MK! I'm glad you got your corn dog nuggets! One of these days I have to try them!

I complete understand dragging! I would have been too! What a long day!

Thank you! It was a very fun evening at MK. We were all sorta loopy from lack of sleep and just being silly. I really pushed it hard at Disney since we didn't know when we'd be back and didn't have a trip on the books!

I really liked Henry's long hair, it was quite stylish in a way, I thought. But he looks very cute with the new hair cut as well! :goodvibes

What a fun corn dog update. Katharina and I tried them in January and were not soo convinced about them, but we had them with mustard. Perhaps the secret is to eat them with ketchup? :confused3 ;)

I was made to eat Casey's nuggets!! I can't wait... only 59 days left!!!! :thumbsup2:woohoo:

I love Henry's big boy haircut! He looks very handsome.

That picture you took of Main Street through the castle walk-through is just beautiful! I would have never thought that perspective would be so pretty!

Aww, I love those couple pictures of Main Street all lit up with the Christmas decorations. Still kind of bummed we changed our holiday trip but hey, we're going back in 33 days. :cool1:

That Mickey "painting" is really cool! We saw someone doing those in April but they only did the heads. haha

Brook, you are HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!! I cannot stop laughing at those CDN pictures. So, so, so funny. They are pretty yummy, I do agree. What a fun night for you, Joe and KK. :)

I had some catching up to do.

First off I am SOOO happy for you that you did not have to sell your DVC!!

And yay for another PTR coming soon:banana:

Love all your updates. Very scary crowds:eek:

Yeah it was about 90 degrees here today so we just enjoyed our pool. Glad to hear you had a good 4th with family:)

I only have a few spare minutes, but I thought I'd at least get a partial update done - and can continue it later today or tomorrow.

We last left off going to bed after a full evening at MK and a day at AK - we were exhausted.

I recall the next morning Joe waking up earlier than myself and by the time I cracked open my eyes he was showered and ready to go! Of course Grammy and Poppa were as well, KK and I were the slackers. ;)

This morning we were headed for EPCOT. Since Poppa and Joe were ready to go they decided they would go before us and grab FPs for all of us for Soarin' before they ran out. This was the ONE ride Grammy had requested we go on.

The boys took off, we girls took our time. About the time we were boarding the bus Joe called and explained he could not get FPs for us since we had not yet entered the park and the ticket system was smart enough to know that. Bummer! He did grab FPs for himself and Poppa, so we at least had two and we could take advantage of the Baby Swap.

The boys ate breakfast at Sunshine Seasons and said it was delish!

We gals arrived around 9:00 am, Joe met us at the gate and passed our tickets through so we could enter.

Poppa took this one just after we entered the gates.

We decided to head back over to the Land to see if we could secure a couple more FPs for Soarin'....for some reason, most likely crowds, we decided to cut through Innoventions - and as we hustled through, Henry noticed his favorite thing in EPCOT....

759644574_uyDvJ-M.jpg

He had shot up so fast in his stroller and shouted out, despite being in a hurry to get to The Land, we opted to stop and let Henry play. :lovestruc Looking back, one of us could have run while we let Henry play...but we didn't do that. I think we all enjoyed watching too much to even think about it!

A little boy in his element.

He also played in the house that is right next to the firetruck.

769411168_fHmi5-M.jpg

Washing his hands.

769411201_t2LEn-M.jpg

He did this SAME thing in September! He really likes this little bed!

769411215_TQ7G7-M.jpg

We eventually pried him off the truck and...

769411221_yTYes-M.jpg

HE WAS NOT HAPPY!

Hopefully it is still there in September and he can play again! Has anyone noticed it recently?

On our way out I grabbed a FP for Kim Possible which I thought would be fun for the whole family.

759644599_mSZhu-M.jpg

When we arrived at the Land all the Soarin' FPs were gone. :sad2: So, we had 2 and a Baby Swap. Up to 3 people can ride on a Baby Swap, so that would mean the 2 FP people would go first, get a Baby Swap and 3 more could ride...it was enough. :thumbsup2

I motioned the group toward Living with the Land, the line stretched and stretched - there was extra queue rope set up for it, as there was for many rides that week....but we decided to get in line anyway, if we just tried to avoid lines all day we wouldn't end up riding anything! They noticed Poppa's wheelchair right away and we went straight to the front of the line! :dance3:

Okay...gotta go - hopefully I will be back later today!

Wow. I can't believe the fastpasses were gone that quickly!! Glad that you would still be able to ride though with the baby swap option. :thumbsup2

I showed my friend (another Corn Dog Nugget lover) your photopass pictures with them. We keep talking about going together next year, so this is now on our to-do list :)

I am really enjoying your report, but it really kills every notion I ever had of attempting a WDW visit over Christmas!! :scared1: :goodvibes

Hey Brook!

I just spent time catching up on your TR! Glad you're getting settled into your new place, that you're finishing up the TR, and have another trip in the works! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Three Thumbs Up!!

It's fun hearing/seeing all your Christmas experience - our next trip will be at the beginning of December... cannot wait!

And to answer your question - the fire truck was still there at the beginning of June (Noah and I sneaked away for a Mom-Son trip for three nights :goodvibes and we stopped at looked at the truck. Even got info to pass on to our Disney loving friend who is the fire chief in our town about having the department's patch displayed, which is why I remember that it's still there!)

I really liked Henry's long hair, it was quite stylish in a way, I thought. But he looks very cute with the new hair cut as well!

What a fun corn dog update. Katharina and I tried them in January and were not soo convinced about them, but we had them with mustard. Perhaps the secret is to eat them with ketchup? :confused3

I liked the long hair too, especially when it would flip out a bit on the sides! But, it was time, due to the heat, and many people mistaking him for a girl. We'll be growing it long again when the weather gets cooler.

You aren't a big fan of deep fried foods though either, right? Do you like hot dogs normally? I am all about the ketchup, but it's a personal preference.

I was made to eat Casey's nuggets!! I can't wait... only 59 days left!!!! :woohoo:

:rotfl: You are going the same time as me (and LL), right? We should all do a meet together! I saw on LL's report that you two are meeting at AK...we might be able to make that work as well if you don't mind us crashing your DIS meet. ;) Or perhaps a Corn Dog meet?

I love Henry's big boy haircut! He looks very handsome.

That picture you took of Main Street through the castle walk-through is just beautiful! I would have never thought that perspective would be so pretty!

It really was a beautiful sight with all the decorations lit up and the castle glowing...:cloud9:

Aww, I love those couple pictures of Main Street all lit up with the Christmas decorations. Still kind of bummed we changed our holiday trip but hey, we're going back in 33 days. :cool1:

That Mickey "painting" is really cool! We saw someone doing those in April but they only did the heads. haha

And there will always be Christmas...you can go another year! But, those decorations ARE amazing - and I loved that it snowed on Main Street!

I have seen the "painting" a couple other times too and this time was the only one I saw someone draw the whole body - I was impressed!

Brook, you are HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!! I cannot stop laughing at those CDN pictures. So, so, so funny. They are pretty yummy, I do agree. What a fun night for you, Joe and KK. :)

I love those pics too. :goodvibes I'm certain that PP Photographer thought I was a bizarre lady...but it was worth it!

I am hoping to get this TR done in July (we'll see with more visitors coming in 2 weeks!) and then I can do my PTR in August. Otherwise it might be a very quick PTR!

Today it's almost 100 here! :scared1: Mom and I decided it was a good day to NOT be a tourist and just hang at home. We went grocery shopping, made lunch and now we are both on our computers. :surfweb: Sounds like a good day to me! We might get adventurous later when it cools off some.

Wow. I can't believe the fastpasses were gone that quickly!! Glad that you would still be able to ride though with the baby swap option. :thumbsup2

They disappeared VERY quickly. I cannot recall if TT was gone that quickly either - I don't think we even went to go check on it...but, as you'll see later in the day the wait times were INCREDIBLE!

I showed my friend (another Corn Dog Nugget lover) your photopass pictures with them. We keep talking about going together next year, so this is now on our to-do list :)

:woohoo: It was fun! It will be even better if you actually think about the pictures and set something up - mine was REALLY spur of the moment. I can just imagine some fun ideas with the nuggets...!

I am really enjoying your report, but it really kills every notion I ever had of attempting a WDW visit over Christmas!! :scared1: :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Ya, it's an ordeal to go during this time, that is for SURE. But, it was doable, and it's a whole new experience...I'm glad we did it once, but I don't think I would again - except if we flew in on the 30th, just hung around on the 31st, watched the awesome fireworks and then toured starting the 1st. That way you still get the decorations and the fireworks, but no people!

Hey Brook!

I just spent time catching up on your TR! Glad you're getting settled into your new place, that you're finishing up the TR, and have another trip in the works! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Three Thumbs Up!!

Hey there! Good to "see" you! I'm sooooo excited about our next trip, I just want to start a PTR, but I don't handle having both going very well!

I've heard the beginning of December is excellent. You often get better weather than the end of December, and low crowds, but still all the pretty decorations! Are you guys doing MVMCP?

I'm so glad to hear about the firetruck! Henry will be very happy to see it again. And how very awesome to be able to sneak away for a few nights!!! I have been entertaining that thought as well with Henry...

 for finally getting the Corn Dog Nuggets. And the fact that you'll have them again in just a couple of short months! :woohoo:

That's great that you were able to get on Soarin' so quickly, and that you all had such a great attitude about the lines at that time of year.

Hope you are surviving the heat ok...we used to have two window units going in our apartment in NY, one for the kitchen and living room, the other for the bedroom.
