Does foot pain ( I mean BAD pain, right on the soles of my feet) = time for new shoes, or can their be another underlying cause??

I ran 12 this morning. Around 8-9 the pain began and got gradually worse until I finished.

I've been on this pair of shoes for about 2-3 months. Probably have 150-200 miles on them & I weigh  about 204 lbs.

TIA for yall's input.

Does the foot pain seem like a blister? If so maybe try a different type of sock or some vaseline.

Have you been fitted for shoes, do you know that you're using the right kind for your arch type? If not that might be the issue.

It doesn't hurt to buy a new pair of shoes to see if that would help the problem - you'll use them eventually anyway.

Good luck.

I just got over PF after doing the too much too fast and having high arches which is PF waiting to happen according to me SIL who is a therapist. Is the pain right in front of your heel? If it is then start stretching now and icing too!!! My pain started in my arch and then migrated to my heel. I have had to do some shoe research to find the ones that are best for my high arches.

Good luck with the problem and I hope, for your sake, that it is not PF. It really stinks!!!!! :headache:

Jim, since you have had PF, you obviously know how it feels and can determine whether it is or is not. Another thing to be mindful of is a stress fracture in the metatarsals. This is also common with runners who put on heavy mileage. I would try new shoes first but certainly if this does not clear, you should consult a doctor. We don't need any more WISHers on the DL!!! :wizard:

I have the same problem. I'm 6'2" and 235 lbs.

I've tried different shoe/sock combinations, but when I hit the 11-12 mile mark the bottoms of my feet start to hurt. Not sure what to do to try and fix it.
