A strange DxDDP question...

We're planning a split stay between CSR and AKV for our fall trip. CSR still uses resort-specific mugs, while AKV has the Celebrate! mugs. I'd really like to get a couple of each. So what I'm wondering is if the mug credits are like the rest of the dining plan credits, in that they can be used in any order over the length of your stay? Can we get 3 CSR mugs at check-in and then use our 2 remaining mug credits at AKV the day we change resorts?

Don't you start a new dining plan at the next resort?

I think you start a new one as the credits expire when you check out (midnight) of one resort and into another.

I would think that you would get new mugs at the second resort.

That's what I thought too. New resort= new DxDDP= new set of mugs all the way around!

I agree it should start a new plan and if it doesn't then the mug credits are good for the whole trip. I got mine as a souviner on the last day because I had given up pop and went to drinking all water, so I was avoiding beverage station temptation.

I agree when you start your second reservation, you'll start a second DDP too. You should expect that you'll get another set of mugs at AKV. As for spliting the mug credits that wouldn't work since the credits would be assigned to the CSR reservation and therefore unredeemable at other resorts. However, you could, as indicated above, wait to redeem the mugs at CSR until your last day since they do work as a credit and will be deducted from your plan once redeemed. I doubt that the mug credits would work at a different resort.

Best way to be sure- call and ask! Have fun.

The second part of the stay is room-only, just for one night to check out the AKV first hand since that's where we're considering buying DVC points, so no dining plan for that part of the trip.

With all our meals up to and including dinner on the day we change resorts covered on the DxDDP for the first part of the stay, we decided there was no point to adding any dining plan for the last night. Since DDP credits don't expire until midnight on check out day, the plan is to use snack credits from the first part of our stay for pastries & fruit to have in the room that last morning so at most we'll only be paying for lunch OOP.
