I got a email tonight about the new T-rex cafe here's what it says...

Downtown Disney Dino Invasion!!

But don't get prehysterical—it's a cool new restaurant

Kevin Lansberry is spending a lot of time with Tyrannosauruses, Velociraptors and Allosauruses lately, even for a Disney executive. Of course, that's to be expected when a thundering herd of life-size creatures are on their way to become the "cast" of a highly unique new interactive entertainment, dining and shopping experience coming in early November to the Downtown Disney® Marketplace.

A prehistoric family adventure in dining with dinos

"At our new T-Rex Café™, there will be several life-size dinosaurs right out front," this enthusiastic Vice President of Downtown Disney Operations told us. "You'll be able to see a full-size T-Rex, of course, over 35 feet long and 15 feet tall. But this T-Rex has competition—like a 135-foot-long replica of the Argentinosaurus, which is not only the largest dinosaur, but quite possibly also the largest and heaviest animal ever to walk the earth!"

Schussler Creative, Inc., in collaboration with Landry's Restaurants, Inc., developed the amazing concept for this new dining experience. The awesome new structure will have a towering ice volcanic crater, or "caldera," with cascading waterfalls, lush greenery and foliage. With the some incredible lighting to add dramatic effect, it will be as though you are transported back in time.

Many worlds within its "world"

"Inside there will be several different environments, all designed to tell a story and provide an educational, interactive experience of the lives and times of these magnificent creatures," said Kevin. "The Ice Age Room, for instance, resurrects the wooly mammoth, complete with its baby, surrounded by man-made snow. The Fern Forest Room is the home of a Triceratops and a Stegosaurus, and their babies, too."

T-Rex Café™ abounds with one amazing area after another, from the Shark Room and the Seqouia Room to the Geo-Tech Room and the Aqua Room—where you can sit in a jellyfish booth and appear to dine underwater beneath a whole school of fascinating creatures. Just off the Aqua Room, you'll be greeted by a giant animated octopus sitting on top of the Shark Bar, motioning you in for a specialty drink and a view of the 6,000-gallon shark tank.

Young fans will have a way to take home their own personal dinosaurs at Build-A-Dino™, Where Best Friendosaurs Are Made™. If this sounds like a prehistoric twist on something your kids already know and love, you're right—it was developed by Build-A-Bear Workshops®, Inc. in partnership with T-Rex. Kids (and more than a few adults like us) can choose from several prehistoric animal toys with a variety of accessories and outfits.

If you like the heat, check out the Kitchen of Fire™

"I'm probably the most excited about the geothermal region, because it's going to be a really different experience altogether. It will have a 'Kitchen of Fire™' with a 26-foot-high wall where you'll see lava oozing over ancient geological formations. A two-story waterfall will cascade down, mixing with hot water and sending up steam. That's going to be neat."

And from the cutting-edge kitchen facilities will emerge a wide variety of pastas, seafood, salads, signature entrées, sandwiches and delectable desserts.

The magic of imagination

"Steve Schlusser has been working on the concept for over a decade," said Marty Sherman, Regional Vice President of Landry's. "He's fascinated by dinosaurs and is dedicated to giving Guests great experiences, especially kids."

"Steve is a person extremely passionate about Disney," Kevin added. "I think he is probably the most passionate person, about whatever it is he is doing, that I've ever met."

So, this November, when your stomach growls, you can follow the sound to the new T-Rex Café, A Prehistoric Family Adventure—A Place to Eat, Shop, Explore and Discover™.

very cool huh.... to bad it is opening in Nov because we will miss it this year , i can't wait to see this place on next years trip to the world...

Oooh, I Might get to check in out since we are going on our 2nd trip in November!:thumbsup2

I mean, don't get me wrong, it can get pricey. But, it was worth it watching Hollie get made up and she loved everyone there!! She just kept swinging her head all night looking at the hair piece they put in there! She just loved it!! We are actually going to do it again in October but this time we are getting her the bun in her hair instead of the diva. Plus, I actually bought her the Princess Aurora dress from disney shopping on their halloween sale for $19 bucks. Down there, the dress was waaaay more than that! Here is Hollie after she was done!

I wonder this same thing!! Not only is it worth the money, but is it worth the time away from the parks...we only have 4 days this time!!

Those pics say it ALL just priceless! So worth it! You'll cherish those pics for all your life. Do it while they still want to go to BBB, before you know it one day they will be 'too cool  ' to have it done. It may sound pricey, buy hey are only 6 or 7 once. :goodvibes

I say do it!! Alexis will absolutely love it!!
We did it the day of our MVMCP so we didn't lose any time in the parks because we weren't going till later anyways!

Hey everyone .. 1st i would like to thank you all for reading my pre report ....

2nd we have 45 more days till disney :cool1: :cool1:
in 15 days we can start our disney countdown wall woohoo:banana:

Ok guys I found a list and I'm planning on doing all but one of them this year ...

1. Visit Tink’s Treasures (a little shop in the Magic Kingdom) to get a glimse of Tink. There is a dresser by the door. If you peek inside the upper left keyhole, you may just see Tink.

2.If you are one of the first guests in the store Tink’s Treasures when the park opens in the morning, you may just be able to wake her up.( we did this last year, so we will not be doing this one to give others a chance at the magic)

3. Find the hidden paintbrushes on Tom Sawyer’s Island. Take them to a cast member and receive a fast pass.

4. Take a closer look at the Cinderella Fountain. Find the water fountain to the left of Cinderella Castle as you exit the rear (and next to Tinker Bell’s Treasures). It has Cinderella in it holding a bird. Stand directly in front of Cinderella and curtsy to her, you will see the gold crown behind her painted onto the wall go onto her head. The purpose? To explain the story of Cinderella in just one glance - rags to riches.

5. Stop by Tony’s Town Square Restaurant to see a tribute to Lady and the Tramp. See the pups’ pawprints in front of the restaurant at the front of Main St. At the back of the restaurant dining room, there is a beautiful 3-paned dark blue window, through which you can see the shadowy silhouettes of Lady and the Tramp sharing their late-night meal of spaghetti.

6. Find Tink outside Big Thunder Railroad Mountain. Most people are aware of the many hidden Mickey’s spread throughout Walt Disney World, but here you can find a hidden Tinkerbell. Walk to the exit from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Behind the fence (on the left side as you exit the ride), between two metal carts and behind a cactus is a cutout in the reddish rock that resembles a side profile of Tinkerbell.

7. See if you can hear Stitch outside the castle. Find the ledge on the side of the castle and take a seat. If you are quiet you may be able to hear Stitch giggle and tell you to be quiet because he’s hiding.

Last year my kids went to Visit Tink’s Treasures at rope dope and was able to wake up tink .. if you guys get that chance take it because it is so magical.
you can see them wake tink up here

the kids asked me if we were going to wake up tink this trip and i told them no , lets someone else get some magic... beside you will have alot of new magic this year ..:thumbsup2 which made them happy.

Till next time
~Amanda

Awwwww, that sounds fun!!!!!!!!! I didn't know about the Stitch at the castle and the siloutte of tink at BTMR!!!

About BBB, if anything do the cheaper package. We did the middle one and honestly they could do without the nail polish. It had chipped off by the end of the night anyways! So, just do the Coach package!

Your ptr is great. Your children are adorable.
I'm a kindergarten teacher (and used to teach first grade), so I really love that age. If you get them hooked on Disney from birth, they'll be hooked for life.

So sad that you moved out of Orlando, but Louisiana is just beautiful. My dad's family is from N.O and I love it there. Best seafood ever!

I love the mousekeeping envelopes. So creative!

And I love your list of things to do at WDW. I'm going to try to do some of them next month!!!

Can't wait to read more popcorn::

HEY!!!! I made it over :)

Your children are absolutely adorable! I LOVE how you match them alot, too:thumbsup2

I must confess, your pictures and videos have me sooooo excited!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
