a Southwest bummer

I got a second bummer for you. I booked our flights the day Southwest opened up the fares for the rest of the year. A week later, they had a sale and our flights dropped over $300. I got a credit which I wont use! I wonder if I can use the credit towards early bird check in?

You can't use credit for early bird check in fee, at least I couldn't do that recently.

BUT you can wait for your credit to expire, then you have a year to extend the credit for 6 months. That gives you almost 18 months after the credit expires to use it. They would take $75 off your credit amount, so it would drop to $225+, but that is better than nothing.

We always buy Early bird for our return flight because I don't want to have to worry about checking in when I am having fun. On our spring break trip this year, there were families that had B boarding numbers that had to split up. My DH was next to a guy and his daughter that had to split up from the mom. The problem as I saw it was that Orlando has so many people traveling with small kids that the family boarding that is done between A and B really threw everything off. There was one family that had to split up completely (although I assume they were in the C group) and the 8 year old boy had to sit by himself away from his parents. I haven't had this issue with any other destination other than Orlando.

You will most likely be fine but just wanted to mention the family boarding.

Yes, SWA will check you in 36 hours before your flight. You can then, at 24 hours or anytime after, print your boarding pass.
So I can print my boarding passes prior to leaving at home and of course use the airport kiosks coming back. Thanks! :)

Yes, you can. Or you can do what we do and check your boarding position at the 24 hr mark, but print the boarding passes at the airport, to save your ink. :)

This will be our first time flying--September can not come quick enough!!!!! We have a Southwest flight from Phl to Mco with a stop (no plane change) at Ft. Myers Fl. Our flight leaves Phl 11:30 am and arrives in Mco 3:20 pm. It states its a 4 hr 20 min flight. Does anyone have any idea how long we will be on the plane at Ft. Myers? I was thinking about 1 1/2 hrs but that seems kinda long just to sit there and wait on the plane?

Our returning flight is 2 hr 45 min nonstop.

Thanks :)
