My hair's description goes like this: when my hair was longer (it's now above my shoulders) and I put it into a bun or ponytail in the morning when wet, I could take it out at the end of the day and it would STILL be wet. Ugh. That's how thick my hair is. I have about the same curl factor as LiteBrite.
I got the book Curly Girl, and I do recommend it. I have an oily scalp, though, so I do have to shampoo more often than the book suggests. But I put conditioner on the ends before shampooing when it was longer. Works like a charm. Also I do NOT sleep on my hair wet if I don't want to wear a hat the next day. I don't know many people who can do that, straight or curly. I wash in the morning and let it air dry. Easy peasy.
Other than shampooing occasionally and conditioning every time I shower, I use Sebastian's Potion 9 on my hair for styling. It's great.
