A Solo Vacation Is The Best Vacation

I told a friend about my trip tomorrow. I told her it seems silly to go by myself but I wanted to do this. Her response was that will be the best vacation you ever went on. You worry about no one but yourself.

She also agreed the whole gas price issue makes a staycation vacation a great choice.

For those who have not heard the term Staycation is when you pick a resort for it's amenities that is local to your home for your vacation. Like going to a really good beach resort. Only I live next to disney and who does not have better amenities than Disney?

and Disenvy can be defined as having jealous pangs toward those who live close enough to Disneyworld or Disneyland to visit and enjoy regular day trips and "Staycations".

Someday I'll own a place there and I'll either snowbird or just live there. I haven't decided yet. Meantime, I'll continue to visit often and be envious of people like you who can enjoy WDW whenever you like .

Not to brag but one of the nice things is I can go over for just a few hours while it is cool. I love that about being so close. Someday you will see your dream come true.

I lived 20 minutes from DLR for most of my life. . .now I actually have to drive. But I still go several times a year. . .though this year I seem to have more TIME at WDW than my total days at DLR. . .

Hi,

For me, a staycation means not going anywhere. Because of "use or lose" vacation leave with IRS, I can take five weeks off this year. I've already taken three weeks: one in February where I was sick with a cold; one in May in which I spent three days at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, my first vacation in six years where I was with someone; and one in mid-August, staying home. Two of those weeks I traveled less than ten miles from my house.

Sometimes a solo vacation is the only vacation.

Glad to see there is another nurse as nuts about Disney as I. I've been more than 50 times in my life since I live in Miami and it's just a 4 hour trip to the World. I'm blessed to have moved to Florida when it was cheap and now I see Mickey whenever I want. This DVC club has made it even worse but I don't care what others think of me. I love it anyway. See you at the World.

I keep trying to go on solo vacations to WDW, but then I invite others to join me so that I have not yet been solo. . .lol

Call me a Scrooge if you want, but I wholeheartedly agree with this. Have been on several solo trips to Disney in the past. Enjoyed every minute.

i fly down solo, may spend a night or 2 solo, may tour the parks solo in the morning

but when it comes to Off Kilter Party Time Im with my friends!

(met lots of locals and sometimes meetup w/a friend to room share)
