OMG, there was a special on the Comedy Central last night with Steven Wright. Always one of my favorites, he's lost nothing with age. :teeth:

It's too bad he spiels these one liners out so fast. You can't remember them. That and you're usually laughing so hard it's painful. :lmao: My favorite of the night was...
I'm going to have an MRI to see if I'm claustrophobic. :happytv: :happytv:

I'm not sure if they'll repeat it but if they do, don't miss this. Here's a couple of clips from last night's show.

Steven Wright

"I bought some used paint yesterday...it was in the shape of a house,"

"Everywhere is walking distance if you've got the time,"

"I have a life-size map of the world. The scale says 1 mile equals 1 mile"

I love Steven Wright. So dry. :rotfl2:

We saw him for the first time last night. He's very clever

I've loved him for years...my favorite from the show:

"My nephew has HD-ADD - High Definition Attention Deficit Disorder. He can barely pay attention but when he does, it's incredibly clear". :rotfl:

I invented instant water, I just didn't know what to add.

He's a fellow grad of Emerson College, we've got quite a few of those funny folk.

His mumble song near the end of the show had me rolling on the floor! :rotfl2:

Thanks! I think he's a riot - it'll be on again Tuesday 12am-1am for anyone who wants to record it! :happytv:

My dad & I first saw him on Tonight Show like 25 yrs ago when he was newcomer. Loved him instantly. And for years, if I mentioned him to someone, like were like "who?". DH & I saw him live in Prov sometime late 80's.

One of my favorites from then was: I bought batteries, but they weren't included, so I had to buy them again.

I have read several of his one-liners over the years and loved them. Last night was the first time we ever saw him on tv. I laughed til I cried when he mentioned renting the dvd that was formatted to fit his tv :rotfl:
Another REALLY funny hour of comedy is Jim Gaffigan-Beyond the Pale. We have seen it about 5 times now. It was on last night after the Steven Wright show.

Dh was laughing so hard he was crying. :)

I like the one about the shopping carts. :rotfl2:

I saw some of this last night. While I laughed, I noticed that Wright looked and sounded a little haggard. He reminds me of Tom Waits now. Tom Waits is one of my favorite singers and Steven Wright is one of my favorite comics, but they're both looking harsh.

Sincerely,

John "MoreorlessaDisneyfan" Kilduff

I just set computer to record it. I can't wait!

We were so thrilled to see him again. My favorite from his old act is:

I like to pick up hitch hikers and say, " buckle your seat belt. I want to try something. I saw it in a cartoon once, but I think I can do it." :joker:

John,
I thought Steven Wright looked downright sick. He was pale and he looked he had lost some weight. I have loved Steven since the 80's, but didn't get to see him in person until last year(b-day present from DH).

We are kindred spirits, because I love Tom Waits too. I love that distinctive, gruffy voice of his. I have loved him since his swordfishtrombone album in the 80's. I always thought he looked pretty harsh and I haven't seen him lately to know how he looks now.
