Back in June while I was attending some training in Oklahoma I came across a deal for a long weekend in October that would allow me to fulfill one of my biggest Disney wishes. A tower room at the CR with a Magic Kingdom view. This deal however was for a Tower Club room (12th floor) and a little more expensive than we normally like to spend for an unplanned quick trip. After a short discussion with my lovely bride I booked it. Now all I had to do was make it to October.
October 21. We planned to leave as soon as DS got home from school. DW had taken an early push at work to be home shortly before the bus dropped off the boy. When she arrived home she found the car packed, gassed up and pointing out the driveway. The bus dropped DS off and in 10min he was cleaned up and in the car and we small phlock of parrotheads were on our way to see the Mouse.
The drive down from Jacksonville was smooth with a stop for dinner at my favorite Cracker Barrel in St. Augustine. We took 417 around Orlando to miss the traffic and this put us at Welcome to Disney World arch around 7:30pm. Now when I make my reservations with the CRO they tell me I have made over 50 visits so you would think I could find my way around the World right? Wrong this time I missed a sign and got turned around and ended up down by the AKL. So I turned around and made another run at it. With much determination, expert driving skills and my DWs most excellent directions we found our self at the entrance to the CR.
Valet parked the car and a bellman took us up to the 12th floor concierge desk. Bill checked us end and we were given room 4836. Now this is the first time I have ever stayed in a tower room and I was very pleased. The view from the balcony was awesome!! We didnt even unpack, we went down and caught the monorail for a quick loop and made it back to the room in time to mix an adult beverage and catch Wishes from the balcony. Life was Good!
