A Sister & Brother Return! The Trip Report! Updated 10/31--Page 23!

Hi:

Hope you didn't lose anything else besides the power today. What were you reading?

Your evening sounds like so much fun except for the knee pain. Good food, good company and a good movie make for a fun time. David I love your paparazzi pic.

Looking forward to hearing more. :surfweb:

great update and pics.

how nice she took it off the check. those desserts looked yummy.

glad the knee was feeling better, a little.

I have to call Biff's son and see how he did in the storm, he is in Jupiter.

I'm happy to hear that your knee was starting to feel at least better enough to start walking on it.

I really like the paparazzi photo of David.

As you may start to notice, I'm a sucker for good food, and I absolutely love Italian and that chicken parm looks delicious!

Can't wait to read some more.

I'm in!!!! That is SO great you got to stay in both Universal and WDW. :thumbsup2 Sorry about your knee situation, how is it now? Also, how is the weather in Florida right now....forgot to ask, whereabouts you are ? We'll be heading to the BC this Friday from NYC....hoping Fay is long gone and another
new storm doesn't develop. We were there for Charley and Francis...you'd think we learn, huh? Just a real convenient time for us to go and get in the last hurrah...before school starts for the kids! We are contemplating doing a day in Universal towards the later part of our trip....your best way for us getting there (no car) How did you get there? Thanks for your tips! :goodvibes

I'm not sure how her knee is doing, but from the looks of it, she's fine. As for Fay, it is a little bit extra windy and rainy, but so far I've seen nothing severe. In my own opinion, I would do Universal first, and then do WDW because for Nicole and I, it just worked out perfectly. But again that's just my opinion.

OH NO!! I can fully feel your knee pain just reading this. I've been having my knees dislocate (aka go out of joint) since I was in 4th grade. Just by standing somewhere and turning wrong. It is a horrible, horrible pain - so I know what you're saying. I can put mine back in, too.

Sorry you had to go through such pain & the aftermath on your fun trip. That stinks that the hotel staff didn't handle it appropriately. :grouphug:

Oh so you know exactly what happened! We still had a blast though I wasn't about to let that damper the vacation!

That really stinks about your knee!!! You were such a trooper to keep going -- dinner looks delicious! I am still laughing over David's paparazzi photo!

Yeah David's quite the character and dinner was delicious, by far the best meal i've had in orlando with the exception of 2 restaurants upcoming :)

I was thinking about you today. I am glad all you did was lose power!

What'cha readin'?:confused3 :confused3

Yeah we lucked out with the storm there was a tornado about a mile from here and the road was closed but we were safe :)

I'm a big fan of the author Emily Giffin and I was catching up on a book I bought by her in new york called Baby Proof. Nothing fancy, just good ol' chick lit :)

Me, too. I hope you all stay safe throughout the storms.

Thanks MeMom :)

They are very cool. :thumbsup2

He's quite the character, huh?

I read Baby Proof by Emily Giffin. Just some good ol' chick lit my favorite genre :)

We def had a fun evening that night, did I tell you guys about my knee at the Dis meet I don't think I did

Yeah I was glad she offered to take it off the check because as usual david was being a pain in the you know what at a restaurant and I just felt bad for her i didn't want to bring it up. The desserts were yummy we had a good time at Mama Dellas.

We aren't too far from Jupiter but it wasn't terrible here

Yeah it got better as the days wore on it was tough the first few days but then it was okay. Italian food is the best! CHicken parm is my favorite meal ever and it was so good!

We are in West Palm Beach, FL and this was our first storm because we moved here right after wilma in 2005! Being from NY we just kind of called it a "noreaster" with rain instead of snow :rotfl: Have a really great time, I know you will this is when the parks start to empty out! If you can get out to Universal you should give it a try, but like Disney there is something more that comes from staying on-site, especially those front of the line passes! Universal is fun but I like going before Disney like David said just because even when that part is over you still have DISNEY!

I spoke to his son today and no damage. :woohoo:

Nope, you didn't tell us. At least not that I heard. I don't remember noticing you limping or anything. I'm glad it got better at least enough for you to be able to continue your trip.

I love her! Did you read the prequals to that (Something borrowed and something blue) She just came out with a new one Love the One You're WithThat's my next read! Hee hee...I love 'em!

Cathy

I think i made it a point not to mention it. By then my knee was feeling better and I just thought it would be so random to mention it lol

I love something borrowed and something blue!! She's awesome isn't she?

Rise and shine!! Today is the day we go to Disney!! Time to check out!!

We grab our stuff and head down to the lobby around 10am. I told David to sit with the stuff because I wanted to express my concern to the front desk about what happened with my knee.

david_thought.png
Yeah but she didn't tell me thats what she was doing, so I waited about 10 minutes more than expected.

Sorry, I didn't think it would take that long, next time I will inform the master. :confused3 :rotfl: ANYWAY I spoke with a really nice young guy who even with me telling him "its no big deal" wanted to get the manager involved, who in turn wanted to get security involved. I expressed to her how it was in no way HRH fault, and that I just wanted to let her know of my concerns with how it was dealt with. She agreed and apologized at the way it was handled and wanted me to fill out an accident form, explaining what happened. I didn't see the harm in it so I did. At one point during my explanations, the manager explained how we had a first aid on staff (what!?) and that they would get me a wheelchair if i wanted (which I didnt then and I didn't now that my knee was better) but I thanked her for the attention and we went to bell services to store the luggage. We wanted one more piece of universal before moving over to Disney!!

So the first thing we did when getting to Universal is look for breakfast. We remembered from the days before that they had a SImpsons Character breakfast that they were practically begging for patrons so we walked over there. As it turns out this is only on the weekends, so defeated, we walked back to the front of the park for a Main Street Bakery type place where we had some typical breakfast fare.

We walked into the big Universal Store they have while we digested breakfast and played around near there.

We walked over to Mummy after breakfast, put our stuff in a locker only to find that it was broken down. They said it would be up soon so we knew we would check back. I had the idea of leaving the items in the locker (you get it for 90 minutes) because we wanted to go on MIB again and they dont allow carryons either. This worked great! We walked to MIB (i win again! :woohoo:)

Than walked to the mummy ride which was awesome yet again! Take a look at our funny face! This would become a ritual, we would figure out the cameras on the rides and pose!

It was now time to say goodbye to Universal and head over to IOA one last time! We only had a few things in mind here: suess trolley, spiderman, and lunch! And we accomplished just that, and in that order! :rotfl:

I love how this says "Croissant Moon" bakery instead of Crescent Moon :rotfl: Oh, the little things.

On the suess trolley

Spiderman is just a one of a kind ride. Disney used some of the same technology with TSM which is great, but Spiderman is so innovative, its worth a ticket to IOA! Here is Marvel Super Hero Island...for those Disney Moms always looking for Disney to create something for little boys--this section of Universal is just for them! They even have a character breakfast with the superheros of Marvel! I know there were a few readers out there with young boys interested, and I say go for it! Your kids will love it!

IMG_4352.jpg

For lunch we tried looking at a few places and ended up at Comic Book Cafe. David had a burger as usual and I had a pizza. I didn't really like my pizza but Davids burger was the same as usual so no complaints there.

David took this candid shot of me enjoying some water jets in the weather!

At about 2pm we said goodbye to Universal Studios as we checked out of Hard Rock and drove over to.....

DISNEY!!!

The next update is possibly coming up tonight, i wanted to wrap up Universal in one more update and i'm working on some video for the next update!!

Coming Up: Pictures get larger, video gets added, as we set sail for DISNEY!

One last shot of the Portofino, what a beautiful hotel!

Another great update and pictures. I really think we need to take the girls there. Looking forward to the next part.:thumbsup2

Cathy

great update and pics.

I agree about Spiderman.

I don't understand why they don't allow bags on? is there no room? or they don't want pics out there of them?

:woohoo: Disney is coming.

Ohh you poor baby! Ouchie knee on vacation doesn't sound fun or comfortable. But that chicken parm looked awesome! I want some now!

DISNEY!!!! YIPPEE!!!! It is here!

I'm glad you expressed your concern to the HRH staff. I'm sorry it was at your expense but hopefully they'll learn from the incident.

I absolutely love the picture of you with your arm across David. Big Sis protecting her little Bro. That's just like something I do with my DSis.

Great update. Can't wait to hear about all your Disney fun!

At the time, it actually felt like I was her human "Stress Ball." She literally just grabbed me and started squeezing my head, I had no idea what was happening.

Hmm....Superheroes Character Breakfast you say...good for litle boys you say...hmmm...
