A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Just an FYI.
Uploaded my autograph cards to walmart.com. Had them printed by the 1 hour photo dept. Person called me to say they were done and questioned where I got the pictures. Explained to her what I did she told me to write out something explaining this and I would also need to sign a paper once I went there to pick up the photos.
Got to walmart to pick up the photos and they would not give them to me. The girl as the counter called somone who then called someone else.
even though they printed them and charged my cc, they could not give me the prints.
I explained the 1st time I had them printed at the store I had to sign a paper stating what I was using them for.
Last trip I had them printed and send to my home, they never questioned anything.
I then explained my phone call.
The manager apologized said that on line you are accepting responsibility for copyright. I said isn't that what I am doing with the letter and whatever paper you have me sign. She said that she could not give me the prints and refunded my cc.
Came home and placed my order on line to be sent to my house. Expected date of arrival 10/19-10/22 we leave on the 22nd.

Update - received the prints in the mail today :woohoo: however all of the borders have been cropped off  this is after I checked them all by viewing them :headache: before placing the order. they are not a 4x6 size they are slightly smaller.
For our go around in April i am going to make sure that I am finished with the new cards at least a month before and try printing them at Target.

I had a few cut off aswell.... even though I checked... I always do mine through shutterfly. It will blend...Nobody will ever know!

I print them myself! I use blank 5x7 index cards print them out and then either bind then take them to Staples for them to bind for me :)

I'm glad that you got them in time for your trip! I hope you will take them, even if they are not perfect. Have a super trip!! :goodvibes

I have a question about printing out the pages.
I am new at this, so I'm sorry for sounding so silly.
Can I save the image to my computer and then print it out as an 8x8?
This is my first time doing this and it's our first family trip this December, I really want to do this for our girls. Thank you all so much for all your help:goodvibes

I don't get it. I downloaded all the pictures by clicking on each of them and then saving them and yet when I try to send them to Wal-Mart , I get the message that the resolution is too low. Since I work in the photolab there, I know what happens if I print them but why oh why I'm the only one getting that message. What am I doing wrong. I was using the cards from here http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd181/Chaos1Cent/Autograph Cards/

Once you click on the thumbnail to get the full picture you then have to click on the photo under "zoom in" to get the full resolution image. HTH :goodvibes

Hi everyone! We just got back from our week at the World, and I just wanted to say thank you for this thread. I made two books for my children, and the character interaction they received when the characters seen the books was out of this world! Even the CMs were asking me where we got the books, and how I made them. I had other parents waiting in line asking me where I bought them. It was amazing. Definately worth it - plus it was fun! Thanks again!:flower3:

That's awesome! So what kind of book did you make? How did you do it? I am making 2 for my kids and like to get ideas.

We just got back too and this was the second trip I made a photo autograph book. I used photos from previous WDW trips of my daughter with the characters. It works so great!! My daughter, 20 months old, loves seeing photos of her with the characters, so it can help to pass the time while in line. She gets VERY EXCITED to hand the characters the book for autographs. :goodvibes We had the characters, CMs and other parents asking about it. It was alot of work but as EeyoreFan19 stated it was definitately worth it!!! :thumbsup2

I used HP Photo Creations but I think for the next trip I'll use Snapfish. With HP Photo Creations, I printed it at home on cardstock and had it bound at Kinkos.

I started a new thread on the main disign boards before I found this one, so I'll ask you professionals specifically here for your help.

I printed the wonderful autograph cards that I found a link for here on disboards. (the ones that use alot of ink) I made 3 of them for my daughters.

My mother offered to cut them out at work for me with their papercutter but forgot to leave a margin on any side. They are now only 4x6. Would you go ahead and bind them that small, make new bigger ones, try to glue or adhere them some other way to larger cardstock?

I don't know what to do besides cut them out by hand next time?

For my books, I followed the instructions in the first post. I used card stock, printed out 4 x 6 pictures, cut them leaving margins (bought a paper cutter at JoAnns), and had it bound at Office Max. They turned out great! Now, I'm working on doing a memory book with all of the photos that we took. I am trying to do this through ArtsCow. There were so many little details that I don't want to forget, so this way I can add text to the photo pages to help me remember the special moments. We are thinking about doing a land-sea trip in 2012. I'd like to try a photo autograph book for that one.

Hi There! Would you mind making the autograph book covers for me in blue with the following names:

Grace
Hattie
Mabel
Essie

also, if you could fit Dec 2012 on there somewhere that would be great, if not the names are just fine.

Obviously it's not a rush as you can tell by the date. :lmao: I can already tell I'm going to be obsessing about this trip. :rotfl:

Hi - Just reposting in case this was missed. I know you've been really busy! I just don't want to loose track of this request and duplicate it. Thanks.

I'm going to DL in the end of November and I would love character dining autograph cards too. We try to go to a different character meal each day. There are only 5 so if it's not to much trouble to do one for each I would greatly appreciate it:
Goofy's Kitchen
Ariel's Grotto
Minnie and Friends breakfast at Plaza Inn
Storytellers Cafe
Surf's Up breakfast w/ Mickey and Friends
Thanks so much, Phoebe

Hi Music Mouse,
I was just curios if you had time to work on these? I've been with out internet for a bit but I got it back running! Yay! I'm trying to get everything organized and finished since our trip fastly approaching. I looked through your photo bucket to see if I missed them but I didn't see them. I completely understand if you don't have time to get them done but if so I would love it!
Thanks, Phoebe

Would you please make an autograph cover for my daughter? Her name is Mary and she is 4. Thank you so much!

What a wonderful thread!! I have spent the last couple days trying to get caught up and am SUPER excited to get started on the autograph books for my kiddies!!

Was wondering if I could also make a request for the book covers shown above? No rush.

Sophia (in pink)
Zachary (in blue)

Thanks again!!

If I'm lucky enough to find some chipboard, how do I get my image on it? Just tape it? The staples people didn't think they could laminate chipboard, so I can't figure out how I would do that??? (I looked at Michaels for chipboard but they didn't have any)
