We have never stayed in a villa before booked with first choice. I have scoured the brochure and it says nothing about a safe, is there a safe in villas? :headache:

I know its a silly question but we always have a safe for the valuables and personal items.

If not where do you stash cash, jewellery, passports etc?

The last two villas we stayed in did not have safes, but I think there are villas with safes.
We just kept our passports and travellers cheques in a bedoom drawer.

HTH:D

some villas have safes, but we haven't in any we've stayed in up to now.

where to hide the stuff... well this is going to sound silly:rolleyes:
but i always stash ours in between the ironing board covers on the ironing board.
As its not an obvious place to look... well it works for me!:teeth:

Hi Sharon

We have been looking at getting one of those things that looks like a baked bean can but you can hide stuff in. We had seen them somewhere before but can't find them anywhere now!

i think we will end up hiding our money in DH socks!

We have a safe in our villa this year - this is the first villa we've rented that will have one.

I always stashed the passports etc inbetween the towels in the linen cupboard.

We stayed in a Villa at Christmas. There was a safe. You had to ring up a company with your credit card details in order to operate it, we didn't bother as the house had an alarm,

Have stayed in a few villas but never one with a safe.

If we do have valuables tend to leave them in our Delsey suitcases as they have combination locks on, passports, flight tickets etc

To be honest I am always wary of leaving money in the villa though.

We've stayed in 5 villas, 3 of which had safes. Two of them had alarms but we never used the alarms.

When we dont have a safe we hide the valuables under some furniture somewhere (eg chest of draws in the bedroom). We try and pick somewhere that doesn't seem obvious but I reckon we probably pick the same as everyone else

To be honest I wouldn't take much jewellery anyway as you're more likely to be robbed in the street than from your villa. I would also take travellers cheques instead of cash.

Hide valuables amongst dirty washing. Crims never rake through other peoples kecks and it may help you to stop biting your finger nails.:p

Thanks soooooooooo much for all the replies. The tins idea is great and i love the dirty washing idea. I will use all these brill hiding places if we have no safe...BIG THANK YOU xx
