A silly question?

I was jsut thinking instead of buying those refillable cups everyone talks about that to save money I could bring my own soda and cups to keep in our room and get ice from the ice machine. That is if they have machines where you can get your own ice, can you? This is my silly question. Thanks

All the resorts have ice machines on each floor. They are usually very convenient and you get an ice bucket in your room to use along with glasses. I always rent a fridge and bring my kind of soda with me. I can't live without my diet pepsi for too long! We also buy the mugs though as it is nice to get something to drink while at the pool or the eatery.

Hi Alexandra. I have done it both ways. I had a cooler in the room with food and drinks and I bought resort mugs. The resort mug is a great keepsake but if you tend to spend more time touring parks, they are a pain to handle. What do you do with the mug after breakfast when you head to the park? That is assuming that you are not going back to the room prior to stepping on the bus. They do well for lengthy stays with kids and lots of time spent at the pool. Buying one at the water park is also a great deal. Don't want to lug the cooler there! All in all, it is more economical to bring drinks in a cooler for us in my particular case.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I probably won't buy a mug because we will be spending most of our time at the parks and I wear a fanny pack ith an attached water bottle holder at the parks so does my husband. We also put those little fruit snacks and cereal bars in them. I'm sure we will share many meals as well as order kids meals for ourselves as well, like others have said they usually give you way to much food enough for 2 people as it is.

If you are looking to save money and can get the drinks there that is the route I'd go. We take plenty of soft drinks, bottled water and beer with us when we go. I also own an Igloo electric cooler to keep my drinks and sandwich meat cold. We always make sure to replace drinks as we take them out so that we always have drinks chilled. For us the refillable mug isn't that great of a bargain.

What a silly question! OK just kidding. We brought a soft sided cooler and did what you suggested. We also bought the refillable mugs. It was the best of both worlds for us. We didn't have to go to the soda dispensers for a quick drink if we just were a little parched but we took the mugs with us to the pool.

We always looked at the mugs a great souvineer, that payed for themselves, so we buy new ones whenever we return to the World.

I have never regretted buying the mugs! We are only going to buy one this trip though. We can share.
