My wife and I got married late last November. Because of time as well as money we decided to just have a short (4 days) honeymoon, planning to (hopefully) do something bigger when we have more time and money.
Since we live in Orlando we figured Disney and/or Universal would be a good idea. And since we already had Universal/IOA annual passes Universal seemed like an even better idea.
It wasn't a long trip, but it was certainly a good time. We stayed at Royal Pacific Resort on the club level. IMHO if it is just two people I feel the club level is more than worth the cost. The free food in the lounge easily makes up the price difference; we didn't have to pay for breakfast the entire time we were there, got free drinks all day (you can take the free water bottles into the park too), and we stopped there for snacks more than a handful of times.
The free access to the fitness center is probably a good perk too. We are both into fitness but I have to be honest and say that we didn't use the gym at all while there.
Hey, when you spend 6+ months working out and dieting for your wedding, eating clean and working out is probably the last thing on your mind during the honeymoon. I have to say I think I put on a good 100 pounds in those 4 days (okay, not 100, but you know...
).
The reason I decided to make this thread was 1) to share some pics and 2) (more importantly) to give a huge thanks to everyone on this forum. Prior to leaving for Universal this forum was an incredible resource for me. I spent HOURS here reading threads, finding out tips for US/IOA (been there many times but this forum still gave me lots of ideas I never thought of!), and learning more about the three on-site hotels. This forum and website helped me much more than the official Universal site (which, IMHO, drastically needs an update). I was able to find lots of fantastic pictures of the hotels, of the rooms, pools, etc. as well as opinions on what to do, where to stay, and just general tips on having a good time.
We unfortunately didn't get a ton of pictures while we were there, we were really too busy just having a good time. But we did snap a few and I thought I would share...

Here is the pool/IOA view from our hotel room:
While we were there, we went ahead and attended the Wantilan Luau. It wasn't cheap (I think around $50 each), but the food was GREAT and the show wasn't half-bad at all:
I had not been to Sea World in a while, so we also took a quick drive down I-4 for the day:
This was probably my favorite part of the trip:
And the Sharks Restaurant!:
Back to RPR:
All of the hotels at US seem to be pet friendly! It was really neat down in the lobby seeing people walking around with their dogs. And the Pet Park outside of one of the buildings at RPR was really cool:
The Club Lounge was great:
We also spent Thanksgiving there. We were going to just go to a restaurant but ended up seeing a flyer in the Club Lounge for a really cool room service Thanksgiving Dinner, which we ended up doing:
The animal show at US is really fun:
It doesn't seem to be a favorite with many people, but for some reason I really love Poseidon's Fury!:

That's all, at least for now.
I'm pretty sure we have some more pictures around here, somewhere. If I find more I'll post 'em up!
Thank you again to this AWESOME forum. You all really were a big help for us in planning things!!
