I think this movie is being shown tonight on the Hallmark Channel. It aired here on Monday night.

Anyway, if you watch, keep your eye out for Santa..it’s my dad!

In his retirement, he has decided to be an extra in movies that are shot here lol

He is in the upcoming theatrical movie with Chrissy Metz and one to be released later with Sarah Paulson. He’s filming one right now but can’t remember who’s in it besides ‘that insurance salesman from Groundhogs Day’.

I don’t think you see his face in this one, but when you see Santa in the background, know it’s an Aussie guy living in Canada lol

How cool! I saw that one, it's cute like all the Hallmark movies.
Well, not ALL the Hallmark movies. I think the older ones were better. And I'm not particularly fond of Candace Cameron Bure.

But I will admit that the Shoe Addict's one is a better one of the new ones.

Well, granted, I am new to the Hallmark Christmas movies; so I haven't seen the bulk of them. But I have watched about a dozen this year and have been happily entertained. I liked one called Fir Crazy that I saw recently.

It's on my DVR with about 10 other Hallmark movies, will be watching for your dad! Love Hallmark Christmas movies!

I just checked. It's showing again on Monday, so I set up my DVR. I'll be looking for Santa. :)

PS: I think I've watched all the Lifetime Christmas movies this year. They're very predictable & aren't very creative, but I'm desperately trying to get into the Christmas spirit. I'll start binge watching Hallmark movies I haven't seen now.

Since that sounds like my dream Christmas I'll have to see if I can DVR it this week.

ETA DVR set and it looks like it's also available on demand from Telus so I might watch it before it's set to record on the 22nd.

I like some of the older Hallmark movies better, too. Not too old, just the ones in the last 3 years. Too old and the writing is horrible and the acting worse. (The reason Hallmark movies have such a bad reputation that they still can't get rid of, by those who haven't seen the improvement in the last few years.) But, this year, they added more new female & male leads that just really don't have much chemistry with each other. :headache: And the storylines have gotten too formulaic. If they are going that route, I'd rather see the older movie again, than watching a "remake" of the same theme, same details, with new, lesser leads that have no chemistry. :badpc:

Sorry, Kimblebee. I barely made it through this movie the first time. :headache: So, I won't be watching it again to look for your father. :( But, I'm glad he's doing something that makes him really happy in his retirement. :cheer2:

I liked Candace Cameron Bure in the movie where she is trying to save the Falcon Lodge from being bulldozed over by her father into a new, modern lodge. Also the one where she goes up to Alaska to be a doctor. And last year, where she played twins who switch lives. :thumbsup2 (Yet, I may have liked it because of one of the male leads. :rolleyes1 Mark Deklin, who had such an effervescent smile in every scene. They had great chemistry together.)

But, her two "supernatural" movies, this shoe addict one and the one where she travels in time to the future, I can't stand her acting. It's like she thinks because the movies are "supernatural" she needs to act more and different. And it just comes out worse. :sad2: Shoe addict, she was shrill and over the top. The Journey though time, she had an idea that women back in the 40s & 50s were only sweet & innocent, so she was sentimentally mawkish throughout. :badpc:

I saw that movie the night it premiered. That's really cool your dad is in it kimblebee:thumbsup2.

And I totally agree with Imzadi, the characters in practically all these movies have NO CHEMISTRY. That is so disappointing to me:sad1:

How cool is that? Now I will have to watch it again. Sarah Paulson is so good. Let us know when that one comes out and which part he plays.

I just saw that one. I liked it.

I watch these movies for the mindless fluff that they are. I love the Christmas decor and happy-in-a messed-up-world escapism.

They're terrific mindless fluff to enjoy while I knit - I still had some recorded from last Christmas so when I started my Christmas knitting June 1st I put on some of my leftover movies and got into the Christmas spirit (and tried to avoid drowning in sweat from the blankets I was knitting lol)

I don't understand why the description for A Shoe Addict's Christmas calls the character a "holiday hater" when she loved Christmas?

Yes! I have the channel on when I make art or crafts - which is pretty much all the time. I learned long ago that I can't watch something like a mystery, which requires carefully watching the TV for clues and to closely follow the storyline. The Hallmark movies are light, fluffy, feel good movies with happy endings. :cloud9:

However, after watching so many of them, they've gotten better over the years. Yet some are much better than others. And some are my favorites. When Hallmark had their Christmas in July event, I ended up taping a my favorites. I still have them recorded, so when they show a movie I don't want to see, and there's nothing else on TV I want to watch, I can put on one of those movies.
