A scary idea.....

Actually, a lot of people here do divulge information without thinking about it. There are always posts about "what town do you live in", then a couple days later 'when is your birthday", then "what is the name of your street', 'what are your kids' names'. The list goes on. Someone with too much time on their hands could find out a LOT about someone. I know on another board I used to post on there was a post like this and people assumed that they were safe posting that information. Well, someone else looked back at some of these posts and got enough information about the one that insisted she was safe and posted her first and last name, address, phone number and all of her kids' names.

Eh, doesn't bother me. Lots of people know info about me and Lauri. Enough so that they drop by where we work to visit us. (Sometimes they even track Lauri down when she is working out of town ) Of course I wouldn't give out personal info like social security numbers and we don't have children to worry about.

I figure if someone wanted to find us badly enough, you can't stop them short of erasing your entire existance on the internet, which won't happen.

Life is too short to live it paranoid.

One time, years ago and on a different message board, I told a guy my first name and the town I lived in. A few minutes later he sent me a link to a map to my house!

I do have an unusual name, but I was shocked, to say the least.
