OK, DISers know everything, right?
DD has a Texas Instruments TI-83Plus graphing calculator as recommeded by her school for the math courses she's in, I think we paid about $100 for it a couple of years ago. Well...a little mishap the other day.........involving a spilled water bottle in the backpack with the calculator at the bottom of the pack.
(Of course she had the water bottle in there because I have been harping on the importance of keeping hydrated to improve allergy symptoms and PMS and on general principle
- so somehow this IS my own fault anyway
)
We took the batteries out, dried it off as best we could, and a couple of days later it is still dead. (DH was thinking it might "dry out" even though DD said the water was just oozing out of the keypad and everything when she pulled it out of the bag. )
Is it worth trying to see if an office-supply type place can fix it? Or just bite the bullet and get another one?
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks
