A sad story, an honest offer

Wow, Pat! I just came upon this thread and was stunned to read your news. I have exchanged thoughts with you over the past months on different pregnancy related threads as I am due just a few weeks ahead of your wife.

Be assured your whole family will be in my prayers!

Going back 39 years--my DH was a placenta previa baby in the dark ages. His mom was in bed for months. She made it to 36 weeks and may I say-- he has turned out to be the most handsome, brilliant specimen of a man that has ever lived! (OK, I'm trying to be encouraging!;) )

So Priceline has a heart, after all... I'm glad it chose to show that it does in the case of such a deserving family.

God bless you, your wife and that little, tiny sweetheart of yours!

Dear Pat- My prayers to St. Gerard the patron saint of safe deliveries and motherhood are being said for you and your wife. Also, I am a labor and delivery RN and have taken care of many placenta previa pts, not all of whom deliver right away, sometimes the bleeding stops and you can buy more time. I hope this is what happens to you and your wife. Feel free to PM me if I can help with any questions or info, I work in a high risk L&D with a level 1 NICU. Good Luck!!:D

Pat

I am mustering up all of the prayers, magic and pixie dust and sending them your way. Hopefully, next year at this time you will be playing with your wife and new daughter in WDW and will all live happily ever after.

Dear Pat,

I've so often enjoyed reading your posts and trip reports, and you've really come to be such a wise and respected voice here on the DIS boards. Like so many others, I'm just adding my voice to the fray, and wishing the very best for yourself, DW, and your little one.

God bless, and please take care!

Pat-
Hope the positive signs for a healthy baby and mother are on the rise. You are a wonderful support for them-continue to shower them with your love and support as you have been doing. It's amazing what that can do. Stay strong through these tense weeks and our thoughts and prayers are with you for a happy and healthy family.

Pat,

I, too, am sending prayers for you and your family. All three of my babies were early - and perfect. I spent months in bed being bored and scared but it was so worth it. They are 19, 13, and 11 now. The advances in neonatology since then are miraculous! Try not to worry - I know that seems impossible. Everything is just as God intends it to be. "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you" Isaiah 66:13. Rely on your faith and take comfort in all the prayers being sent your way!

I was also treated to the horrendous "if this happens, we'll do this" senarios. I'm still angry about that to this day! Honestly, I did not need to know all of that stuff. If you can protect your wife from this it may be helpful. Unless she is demanding to know everything, maybe you can talk to the doctors without her.

Please keep us posted -
Audrey

Pat -

More prayers for your wife and daughter.

Hey Pat

May God Bless you and your family. Things like what you are going thru really puts things in perspective.

A buddy of mine had his baby in January and his wife was due April 10th. Now we are in June and his wife and baby are fine.

He sends us pictures of her every couple of weeks or so and its so incredible to see how she has grown.

I am sure everything will work out for you guys.

You will be in our prayers.

Pat,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. My brother was a preemie many, many years ago and is now a big strong 34 year old with a family of his own. Keep your chin up. HUGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY:D

Dear Pat,

I wanted to add my prayers of concern and comfort for you and your family. I just drove past the Danville exit off Rt. 80 today and wish I could have sprinkled a ton of pixie dust to uplift your spirits! (Can one actually sprinkle a ton of something?)

Stay positive and keep your faith.

Warmest regards to you and your family from a fellow PA resident.

Pam

just wanted to add my best wishes to you and your family as well. I actually have experienced what your wife is going through and I know how difficult it is ... but keep the faith ... I delivered a beautiful baby girl who will be 12 on June 12th, inspite of all the complications and I went on to have a Darling Disney Princess daughter who is now age 6 ... so rest assured that many, many prayers are being said for you and your family ... :D
